Alice had brought Esme along to the Main House. She felt like 'hanging out' with Akito and Devon again. She led Esme through the house, and they reached Akito's room. Alice giggled when she realized she'd walked in on the couple while they were kissing.
Akito pulled abruptly away from Devon, cheeks now stained red. Alice shut the door after Esme had entered with her.
"Aw, sorry Aki," she said, though she didn't sound very sorry at all.
"Why. Are. You. Here?!" Akito snarled at the two, glare directed at both Alice and Esme.
"We only came to hang out with you and Devon," Alice whined. "Oh, and Devon, I was thinking about bringing Rhea. What do you think? I could call her..."

"No." Devon said. He probably would have been blushing if he were human.
Esme actually felt a bit bad for walking in on them. "Alice, you should have been more polite." She chided her daughter.

Alice laughed. "They're so cute, Esme," she said, grinning.
"Do I only exist for your personal amusement?" Akito snapped at the girl.
"No, you're 'god' of your family and there's still Devon," she replied innocently.
Akito sighed. Alice could be as irritating as a very young child at times.

Esme grinned. "Alice, we should leave them alone." She said to the girl.

"Yes. You should," Akito agreed icily.
Alice huffed. "Fine. Come on, Esme. I'll take you out and we can go walk around the garden. It's pretty, after all."
She led Esme out of the house, and through the garden. Alice looked surprised when she saw a woman nearby. She had elegant, long black-plum hair, very similar to Akito's. If Alice really looked, she could see that her eye color was similar to Akito's, too. They had the same skintone, and they even had similar scents. She approached the woman.
"Hey, I think I just found Akito's mom," Alice said with a smirk to Esme. Alice was very well aware that Ren had made life miserable for Akito, but she was still curious about how the woman might act.
"Hello!" She said, walking up behind the woman. Ren whirled.
"Who on earth are you?" She asked Alice and Esme, eyeing them suspiciously.

Esme followed behind gracefully, and held out her hand for the taller woman. "My name is Esme Cullen." She said, introducing herself the way an American would. She smiled sweetly at Ren. "I am a friend of Akito's."

Ren's eyes narrowed just slightly, and she plastered a too-sweet smile on her pale face.
"A friend of my son's, mm? You too?" She nodded at Alice.
Alice nodded, holding back a scowl at the way Ren had looked at Esme. "Yup, Akito's my friend."
"That's quite a shock," Ren commented. "Akito-san" --the name was said with utter hatred-- "tends to dislike outsiders. He doesn't seem too fond of his own family."
This time, Alice didn't bother to hold back a glare and crossed her arms over her chest. She had to crane her neck to look into Ren's eyes and convey the anger-- not that she minded. "Ren-san, we are quite fond of Akito-chan, and would quite like it if you wouldn't sound so cruel when you mentioned your own daughter's name." She made it clear that she knew what Ren did to Akito.
Ren smirked. "Akito really isn't any good at keeping secrets. It's so hypocritcal that the child gets angry at the rest of the family when things happen."
Alice's expression had gone blank, as if she were having a vision. Ren eyed Alice, watching the girl as the cool look fell off of her face, replaced by... nothing.
Then Alice's eyes focused again. "You know, I sure hope you don't try something to hurt Akito." She gave Ren a knowing smirk, as Ren looked down at her in shock.
Despite Alice's calm, almost cheerful tone as she spoke to Ren now, her fists were clenched behind her back.

Esme laid a hand on Alice's shoulders, trying to get her to calm down. She smiled polietly at Ren. "I don't understand how you couold be so cruel to your child, and maybe if you hadn't treated her as you did when she was younger, maybe she wouldn't be to hypocritical." Esme told the lady a bit icily.

"I should have known any friends of my child would be idiots," Ren said coldly, but all at the same time, in an almost kind way, or sympathetic way, as if she pitied them for their so-called 'idiocy'. "None of the terrible deeds that Akito has committed are my fault, don't you see? She was spoiled, and even stole my husband's love from me. The way I treated her was merely justified punishment."
Alice, who had relaxed when Esme rested her hand on her shoulder, was now angry again. No human, and maybe not any vampire--except Jasper--would be able to notice the anger.
"Why do you think Akito stole your husband from you?" She trilled, staring up at Ren almost wonderingly, putting on a very innocent expression. "She was only five when he died, after all. You can't blame her if her father was happy to have a child. He must have still loved you." Her voice was almost tranquilizingly calm, despite how high it was.
Ren sneered. "That foolish child really has brainwashed you two, hasn't she?"

Esme almost snorted, but didn't. "I don't believe that my children are trying to steal my husband. I think that you are a self centered, sour old woman who couldn't handle someone else in your husband's life." She told Ren bitterly. "We're no the idiot, you are."

((GO ESME! XD))
Ren snorted. Unlike Esme, she didn't bother to hold it in. "Self-centered? Pffft. As soon as the child was born, Akira never paid attention to anything or anyone but him. And he wasted the rest of his life-force on that child. Had he allowed himself to relax, instead of trying to make that child happy all the time, he might still be alive today. He died so young, all because of our child. Esme-san, surely you might understand that it would hurt to lose the person you love, even if it has never really happened to you." Ren didn't allow sadness to touch her voice, keeping it strong. She did indeed have some sorrow in her eyes as she spoke of Akira, though.

"It's not Akito fault that Akira has died. I am sorry that he did, but you can' t blame Akito your whole life." Esme said. "I understand how you feel. I lost a child once." She said to Ren.

"Children are useless," Ren spat simply. "They are worthless things that make a husband's and wife's life more difficult."
No wonder Ren was a bad mother. She had absolutely no maternal instinct. Alice could be more motherly to Akito than this woman who gave birth to her.
"Hm, no wonder your husband was so happy to have a child. He probably needed someone that would be more loving than you," Alice couldn't help but hiss at her. She cared a lot for Akito, almost like a sister, like the way she cared about Bella.
"Akira-san loved me," Ren whispered. "I was the only one to understand him. Do not speak to me like that. Even if hated by my own child, Akito is the head of house, and I the mother. That must earn me some height of respect."

"You have no idea what you have done to that child, do you?" Esme asked, not believeing her ears. "You don't know how to be a mother. Children are not bad, they're blessing." She said. She couldn't believe Ren was saying children were bad. Esme would trade just about anything and everything just to have a real child that was hers.

"Maybe, to some people. But my child is a total disappointment," Ren said simply.
"Your husband would not be proud now," Alice pointed out truthfully.
Ren smirked. "Of course he wouldn't be. His child has become an abusive w**re, and is not that deceivingly innocent girl he had wanted. He'd know I was right."
Alice was speechless. Did the woman know what she was saying?!

Esme was starting to get upset. "How could you say that about your own daughter!? That's horible!" She said to Ren.

"I am able to say it because it's true," Ren replied with a wicked, twisted grin.
Alice sighed. No wonder Akito was the way she was, so temperamental. The pixie-like girl felt as if she would snap, herself. Her hands were again balled up into fists behind her.
"You really do hate Akito-chan, don't you?"
"Possibly," Ren replied. "Yet, I still try to protect her from disappointment. I care enough to warn her that with the way she is acting, her family will indeed leave her. The 'Eternity' she always speaks about is false, and I try to tell her that. She never listens, though." Ren had a bitter smile on her face as she spoke, and almost cackled. She was a bit ill in the mind, and this was confirmed by a seemingly insane glint in her eyes.

"Maybe if you didn't hurt her everytime you tried to 'protect her from dissapontment' she would listen better, hm?" Questioned Esme.

"The child never listens," Ren said, shaking her head. "It really is a disappointment."
Now Ren was referring to Akito as 'it'?! Alice's temper flared again. Still, it didn't s how, and she smiled sweetly.
"Akito's a person, not a thing."
"Akito was a mere toy to Akira-san."

Esme sighed. "You really are horrible to Akito and cannot handle that your husband loved her." She said.
