"I'm sorry, Tadao." Shade said to him. She hugged him tightly, placing her hands around his neck. She wasn't quite sure what she what she was sorry for. Maybe for when she was young and stupid and now this was happing to her.
"What are we going to do?" She asked him softly.

Tadao sounded more like he was trying to convince himself of this.

Shade shook her head.
"I'm sorry Tadao... but I don't think... that I will." She told him softly, tears actually starting to well in her eyes.

Shade was silent as Tadao held her.
"I love you, Tadao." Shade said to him. She wanted to say that now for some reason.

Shade allowed him to hold her, feeling secure in his strong arms.
"I don't know what I would ever do without you." Shade murmured, running one hand through his hair, which had been getting longer. She actually liked his hair longer. She returned her hand to his neck, pulling herself closer.
"I don't want to die, Tadao." She whimpered.

"I don't want you to die either," Tadao replied. "Now, I want you to fight this sickness to the best of your ability. You're strong. I know you'll live," he murmured in her ear, running one hand up and down her spine.

Shade shivered from the wonderful feeling she got from Tadao's hand on her back and him murmuring in her ear. She nodded.
"I'll try..." She murmured back.

Tadao nodded. "And whatever happens... If something..." he choked a bit, not wanting to say it. "...If something goes... wrong... don't think I'll be mad at you or anything like that."
He knew how she could be.

Shade nodded. "I promise." She mumbled. "Just don't blame Hatori, okay?" She told him. Last time something horrible had happened to her, the car wreck, Hatori had been there and Tadao blammed him.

Tadao smiled sadly at her. "I'm sure he's already beating himself up enough about that. And personally... I don't blame him... Shouldn't have blamed him for that car accident, either..."
He put one hand against the back of her head, and pushed her face lightly to his chest, still running his other hand up and down her spine to keep her relaxed.
"We should still do fun stuff despite this, though. Because it's the best way. I mean... we should go on living normally, right?" He smiled at her. Of course, she'd need certain treatments and such, but she still had to have some fun. Because if things didn't go the way he wanted them to, he wanted her to at least be happy. He forced a smile for her, but it didn't look forced at all. He kissed the top of her head.

Shade allowed Tadao to place her face against his chest. She heard the steady beating on his heart in her right ear.
Thump... thump... thump
So far, Tadao actions seemed to be keeping her calm. Shade nodded at his statement.
"Yeah... not Hatori's fault." She said; her voice soft. She placed her hands over his chest as well, a bit below her head. "I don't want life to stop just because this has happened to me." She said, her voice still barely over a gentle murmur

Tadao nodded. Shade really was strong. He kissed her forehead affectionately. He really didn't have much to say. So he just mumbled, "I love you," into her forehead.

"I love you, too." Shade murmured back. She shifted slightly in his arms so that she could look up at his face.
"Tadao..." She started. "Tadao, I want Ryuzaki to know..." She didn't have to finish her sentence to make it clear what she wanted. Ryuzaki was a touchy subject for her. When he had born, Kyo pretty much tooko care of him. Of course, Tohru helped. Shade helped when she could. But it was difficult. It's not that she didn't love Ryuzaki. She loved Ryuzaki as much as she loved Lee, but she was just worried about being a good mother to the werewolf child. Ryuzaki didn't know that Shade was his mother, but now Shade was starting to rethink the idea... but would Ryuzaki be able to handle it?

"Then we'll talk to Kyo, and see if he agrees," Tadao said. He had been a little angry at the boy at first, after he found out, but he never voiced his anger, and knew it wasn't Kyo's fault.
