"What?" Ember asked him, glancing at him once. Her shimmery mane of red hair, she flicked it off of her shoulder before looking ahead again.

"I... I want to know what you want, Ember. Whatever it is that you want the most-- I don't care if you think it will be selfish of you-- I'll give it to you," Yuki said, voice fierce, violet eyes intense.

Ember sighed and made the mistake of looking at him. She instantly looked away from his intense gaze.
"... I want you to be safe. And to do that, you can't be around me." She said to him.

Ember paused a moment. "Yes, I want you safe." She told him. "More then anything, I want you to be safe, and alive." She had to restrain herself fromm saying, 'Because if you were dead, I wouldn't know what to do, I'd go crazy'.

Yuki pursed his lips and nodded. "And you don't think I can be safe if we're back together..." He sighed.
"Ember, if it's really what you want..."
He climbed off of the post on the porch. His throat tightened. He was not going to cry...

Ember wanted to tell him that. But she wouldn't. That would just hurt more.
"Yes. That is really what I want." She told him.

Yuki nodded. He turned to her and bowed politely. "See you some other time, Ember-san." His tone was quiet. He sighed, bowed one more time, then went on inside.
