Akito sighed. "Seeing as you've figured out it's a curse... I suppose. Basically, I bear the core, and because of it, it makes me sick and causes me pain. When my father died I had to take on the burden of being the head of the family when I was eight... And I'll die before I turn thirty."
She didn't say anything about the curse on her family.

Why does he ask so many questions? Akito thought.
"My mother was jealous of me because she thought that I would take her place in my father's heart... so she forced Father to agree to raise me male, or else she'd do abortion... Basically, she hates me."

"I've... I've always wondered what it would be like if I could live forever... but then I'd forever bear the core of the curse. But sometimes I wish... sometimes I wish Father could live forever. He and I were so close... I hated losing him." Akito explained.

Akito wasn't exactly sure what to say. She knew that sometimes she wished she knew what it felt like to close your eyes and never wake up, to never feel pain again. But she didn't say anything. She just sighed.

He opened his eyes again.
"I better be heading back to the Cullen's. Some of them still have duobts about me and I don't want to do anything to make the rest suspicious..." He trailed off. Her rose from his seat and held out his hand to Akito.

San... so formal. They hadn't gotten past -san, yet they were friends.
"You know, -san is more formal, well, than -kun." She informed him. Devon wasn't from japan, she could tell by the shape of his eyes. He'd need to know sometime.
Akito had decided to leave out -chan... she didn't want him to start calling her A-chan, or Aa-chan... or even Aki-chan.
