The new, crisp snow, made quiet crunching sounds under Kureno's feet. It was a pretty nice day, not many clouds in the sky anymore, but the air around him was sparkling. Was it really that cold right now. He hadn't been paying much attention, but now he noticed just how freezing cold it was. He shivered. He'd been so deep in though... thinking about the time he went to the department store. Arisa Uotani. That's all he could think about. He wanted to see that girl so much. But he couldn't. He had to stay with Akito. But Akito had let him come out today. Why hadn't he gone to the department store? He wasn't thinking. That's why. Instead he'd gone to the park. And now he saw somebody. A familiar face. No, not Arisa. Someone from middle school. The big, vibrant green eyes and long-ish, perfect black hair was too easy to recognize. What was her name? It started with a K. Kiara? Wait, no, Kira. That was it.
"Kira...?" He said, a bit quietly, but she'd probably hear it.

Kira looked up from where she had been thinking, leaning against the tunk of a tree.
"Kureno?" She said, looking at him. It was Kureno, she could of reconized the red-headed man anywhere.
Kira had been thinking about Shade. How her daughter had dissapeared. She wasn't worried. She had once ran away from Takara in her youth, to think. She knew that is what Shade was doing.
She smiled her bright, angelic smile that everyone had alway said was so beautiful.
"Fancy seeing you here...." She said, then stopped leaning agains the tree. She tucked some of her black hair behind her ear
"How are you doing?" She asked. Her voice was soft, like usaual. Her voice had always been soft and kind.

"Good," Kureno replied. Ugh, that was a bit of a lie. "I haven't seen you since middle school graduation. How've things been for you?"

"Better." She said. Lie. Her condition had gotten worse, her husband and her oldest two sons had died, and now her daughter was missing.
She let out a small laugh.
"That's a lie. And I'm not going to lie to you...thnigs have not been going well." She sighed sadly. She covered her mouth and coughed. Then murmered to herself, "The dry air isn't helping..."

Kureno looked at her, concerned. "I'm not very fine either. I mean, my health is fine, but the new head of our family is sick, and I care for him like a younger... brother," Kureno said. He wanted to say sister, but he couldn't. "Maybe you should go back home..." He suggested. "I'll go with you if you want."

She nodded.
"I'd like that...but I can stay out here, if you want." She said.
"My....condition...has worsened. A few years ago, my two oldest sons and my husband died..." She sighed. "I'm trying to be strong, for my daughter..." She laughed slightly when she reconized those words. I have to be strong...

"Always trying to be strong," Kureno said quietly. "Hey, I don't mind if I go outside or inside. It's pretty cold anyway. Come on, let's go back to your house? I can fix us some soup or something. Oh, and do you remember Hatori-nii? He's the family doctor now, I could have him come see you," He suggested.

She smiled, then coughed.

"Here, I'll take you home and then we'll call him. You can lean on me, if you need to," Kureno said, pulling her a bit closer comfortingly. Kira reminded him a bit of Akito...
"You don't always have to be strong," He whispered to her. "It'll only hurt you. Break down once in a a while," He suggested.

Kureno smiled and walked her out of the park. "All right, which way to your house?" He asked.

"It's not far from here. If we keep on walking strait, we'll get there." She said. And sure enough, only about a half a block away, was Kira's small, two-story pale blue house.

Kureno soon reached the house. It looked nice. He helped her inside. "So, other than your daughter, do you live alone, Kira-chan?" He asked her. He'd found the phone and was dialling Hatori's number.

"No, I live with my brother-in-law." She said.
"And recently, my sister and her children have moved in." She said, sitting down on the couch, holding her head in her hands. She had a really bad head-ache.

"So much like Akito..." He murmered under his breath, proboably too quiet for her to hear. Though... She'd always had rather good hearing as a kid...
He dialed the number, Hatori picked up, they talked, then Kureno hung up. "Hatori-nii's on his way," Kureno promised.

"Who's Akito?" Asked Kira, looking up from her hands.
She smiled when Kureno said Hatori was on his way.

"Nn... Head of the family. You kind of remind me of her... I mean... him," Kureno said, eyes widening when he realized he said her, and then hastily correcting himself. No doubt Kira caught it. Great...

Kira had just thought that Kureno had made a mistake, and thought nothing of it.
She heard a knock on the door. Kira jumped up to get it. Kira doesn't get very many visitors, so you can see why she's so excited. Her black hair fell around her shoulders almost perfectly on her shouolders. She opened the door, and looked up at the man. He vibrant green eyes sparkled in almost the excact same way Shade's did.
Hatori looked alot like his father...Kira had met his father once.
"It's nice to finally meet the person my daughter talks so much about!" Kira said, opening the door for Hatori.
((Sorry, I kinda powerplayed there...))

Hatori nodded. "So you're Shade-kun's mother, then?" He asked. He looked to Kureno. "Hello, Kureno. Akito-san said that he wants you back soon."
"Okay. I'll leave in a few minutes," Kureno said.
