Shade waited outside of the park. She was out late. Really late. About ten.
She was walking out of the dakr park, being pelted by sleet and snow. She slipped on a some ice on the side walk and had to grab a tree to keep from falling on her butt.
She could hardly see anything in the darkness, and she took careful steps to keep from falling again. She didn't want to slip and get all wet then walk home colder then she already was.
She stood outside of the park, keeping her head down and he hood pulled up. She was going to walk home, but she tired and cold.
She pulled out her cell ohone, her numb fingers trying to press the small bottons. She messed up several times and dropped her cell phone once. She finally had Hatori's number, her new house number, dailed. "H-hatori?" She asked, her teeth chattering form the brain-numbing cold.

Hatori answered. "Yes, Shade? Do you need me to pick you up? I was just about to call you," he said, sounding terribly exausted.
He'd seen the sleet and snow.

"Yeah. You don't mind, do you?" She asked him. She rubbed her arm with her free hand.

"No, no, of course I don't. Where are you?" Hatori asked.

"Okay, on my way," Hatori replied, stiffling a yawn. He hung up and walked out to the car.
He reached the park in about ten minutes and reached across to open Shade's door for her.

Shade slid in. "Thank again, Hatori." She said to him, reching over and buckling her seat belt.

"Not a problem," Hatori replied. He stiffled another yawn, he had circles under his eyes. He'd been up most of last night, and hadn't gotten any rest since around two in the morning. Honeslty, he had been getting very little sleep all week. He started driving the car.
The street was empty for the most part, trees on either side. But Hatori didn't see the patch of ice on the ground, and, going pretty fast, slid on it. The car slid out of control, and spun a bit before hitting a tree. Glass shattered. It was Shade's side that hit the tree. He had a few scratches, and one deep gash or two, but he wasn't nearly as bad off as Shade was. He took one glance at her and then whipped out his cell phone, dialing 911.

Shade nodded.
She didn't see it coming. The first thing that she noticed was that car was suddenly veering out of control, then smashed into a tree. Her body impacted the side of the car. She felt her bone in her right arm practically shatter she then jerked forward, hitting her head on the dashboard with a great ammount of force, then snapped backwards. Glass showered down on her, slicing open her face, shoulders, and neck. She had a large cut starting from her eyebrow, down to her cheekbone.
She hardly felt anything after hitting the dashboard. She had apparently been knocked out by the fore of the blow. Blood gushed out of that wounds, and some of her skull may have been cracked. It was apparent that she had literally busted her skull open. One half of her face was soaked in the warm, thick liquid. Her arm was shattered, her body was bent freakishly out of place.
There was also a large peice of glass sticking out of her gut. The area around the wound was stained red, but the glass had atleast stopped most of the bleeding. Small peices of glass had buried themselves into her arm and one side of her face, since her head was turned to the side.
Her eyes were closed, and you could barely hear her breathing.

Hatori explained what had happened. He was in a rush to finish. He finished with, "HURRY!" Then hung up.
Within about five minutes he could hear sirens (sp...?) in the distance. He was continuing to examine her, pulling out glass when he could reach it without going into the wound. He got out of the car. The state of the car was bad. Pfft, like he cared about the car right now! The ambulance stopped, two men coming out with stretchers. They suggested Hatori get on one, but he shook his head. "No, no. I'm fine. You need to help her!" Hatori argued, practically shoving them in the direction of the other side of the car. The men got her out and laid her on the stretcher. They carried her into the ambulance, and Hatori got into the back with them.

((You spelled 'sirens' right. ^^))
Shade was hardly aware of what was going on. She knew that she was being picked up though, and now that she was being placed in an ambulance.
They hooked her up to a monitor. Her heart beat was faint. The paramedics began to treat her wounds, moving as quickly as possible.
The ambulance hit a bump in the road, causing Shade's heart to speed up greatly.
Suddenly, it was just a strait line on the screen. "Her heart has stopped!" One yelled out suddenly. They pulled out a defibrillator to restart her heart with. "Clear!" No response. "Clear!"
A bump appeared on the screen, followed by a small blip noise. The paramedics seemed relieved. The paramedic started working on the gash on her head. "She's losing blood quickly. We will need a close relative to donate blood once we arive at the hospital. Are you her father?" She asked Hatori. They didn't look very much alike, but it didn't hurt to ask. Her tone though, was urgent.
She was aware that Hatori was sitting next to her in the cramped ambulance. She could somehow feel his precence there. That made her a bit calmer, somehow.
After all, she had told Hatori once that he was her gardian angel...

Hatori shook his head. "No," he replied. "Stepfather. I'll call her mother." He pulled out his cell phone. He sure was lucky that it hadn't been crushed or anything in the crash. He dialed Kira's number quickly. He took one of Shade's hands worriedly in his free hand. He was checking her pulse. Faint. Still faint. He was worried, but Shade would pull through. Right?
"Pick up, pick up," he murmered quietly as the phone rang.

Shade's small hand was limp in Hatori's bigger hand. But she felt him. She knew that he was there. She wanted to tell him that it would be okay. That she would be okay. But she couldn't she didn't have the strength.
Kira picked up on the first ring. "Hello?" She asked. She didn't know what had happened yet, and she figured that Hatori and Shade were on their way home.
The doctor slowly pulled out the peice of glass sticking out of her stomach. I slid out with a sickening noise. A wet slick sound, they dropped in into a metla dish, before quickly banadaging the large spot on her stomach. She was bleed rapidly out of there, too. You could see the blood starting to soak the the white bandage.
They applied more presure on the wound. Soon, they pulled into the hospital, where the paramedics pulled her out of the ambulance. Shade hand slipped out of Hatori's when they pulled her away. They pulled her strecher into the emegancy room, moving hastily, walking quickly past all the people.

Hatori followed the paramedics and Shade out of the ambulance as he spoke, his words rushing out and almost slurring together at times as he spoke to Kira.
"Car accident. The road was icy, I didn't see and we spun out of control. Shade's hurt. She needs a blood donation. I'm fine. Hurry over here, please," he spoke very quickly into the phone.
He'd call Tadao next. He'd want to know.

Kira hardly responded. SHe said something quickly, probably an 'okay' or something before she hung up.
The doctors took her into one of the rooms, working hurriedly over her. You could here they're voice raising at times. "Her heart is going crazy! We need to get it stablized!" "She's going into cardiac arrest!" "Her heart stopped again!" "Clear!"
The rest was pretty much the same as before. Her heart stopped, and the doctors tried to get it to pump again, succeeding, luckily.
Shade had died twice today. It was sheer luck that she had made it this far.
Kira made it to the hospital quickly, her eyes wide as she rushed over to Hatori. "Hatori, Hatori!" She said, grabing his arm and looking frantic. "What happened!? Where's Shade?!" She asked, her voice rising an octave out of her worry. Her eyes were still wide.

Hatori had a sort of dazed, shocked look. It was because of his worry for Shade. But he pulled Kira into the room where they were working over her.
"I'm sorry, Kira. I should have been paying more attention..." he apologized. He again stiffled a yawn. The reason for the accident was obvious. It was because of how tired he was. He wouldn't have been able to miss that patch of ice, had he been more awake.
Tadao came in soon after receiving a call from Hatori. He felt so stressed, not sure how to think right now. He went into the room, and shouldered past his older brother, so he could try and get a better look at Shade. It was bad.
This was Hatori's fault. Definitely. He whirled and walked back over to his brother and Kira. "Look what you did," he said angrily at Hatori. "You need to pay more attention! What if she dies?" His voice was shaking a bit. He was obviously very worried for Shade. What if she didn't pull through?
No. He couldn't think like that. She would make it.

Kira's stared at her daughter, bloody and patched up. "H-hatori, this isn't your fault. She murmured to him before Tadao bursted in. She looked up at him, remaing silent, then back at Shade, unable to say anything. My baby... She swallowed down tears. She had to make it. Shade had to make it. "S-she'll make it through, she has too." Kira said, her voice shaking. "She has too." She was trying to keep from crying, although her eyes were watering up.
For now, the doctors had stepped away from her, stopping the leeding for the most part. But SHade was as pale as death, her body in poor condition. Patches all over her, tons of glass filled the littl emetal dishes next to the operating table.
One doctor approached Hatori, Kira, and the anger Tadao. "She's lucky she lived." He told then in a blank voice. "She still has some internal bleeding. Tomorrow we will need to go into surgery to repair majorly damaged organs. She also needs blood." He turned to Kira. "I am told that you are her mother, correct?" He asked. Kira nodded meekly, her eyes still watering. "We'll need some of your blood. Come with me, Ma'am." He said. Kira nodded shakily and followed him out of the room.
Another doctor approached him. She sighed sadly. "We didn't want to say this infront of her mother, but we aren't sure if she will live. Much less, her baby."
Her baby.

"Her... her baby?" Hatori choked out.
What?
"Yeah. She's pregnant," Tadao muttered.
"H-how..."
"Raped," this Tadao whispered to his brother. And then. "She has to make it. Do everything you can to help her," Tadao demanded to the doctor. He honestly couldn't think straight right now.

((Is it wrong to say I laughed at Hatori's reaction? XD))
The doctor nodded. "We will try to save her." She said sincerly, before stepping out of the room. She turned to Hatori. "Yes. Her child." She said to Hatori. "She's been pregnant for about a month now." She said. She hadn't heard about her being raped, so she figured that the man who appeared to be her boy friend was the father.
A few minutes later, they had her moved to an ordinary room. Thjey had taken some of Kira's blood, and it was now hooked up to Shade, along with an assortment of drugs used to ease the emmenise pain that she was in. They also had a breathing tube on her, her breaths even then, sounded forced. For the moment, she was unconscience.
They had redressed her in hospital clothes. They probably threw out her olds ones, since they were too stained an cut up to keep.
Kira was sitting in a chair next to her bed, holding her daughters hand, pray silently that Shade would make it through.

Hatori and Tadao had gone to the normal room now too.
"She's pregnant..." Hatori still sounded shocked.
"Yeah. She is."
"Why didn't anyone tell me...?" He was just taken by surprise. Rather dazed...
Tadao sighed and went to kneel on the other side of Shade's bed. He laid his head down very, very carefully on the bed so it was next to hers.
"You'll be okay, you'll make it," he whispered into her ear.
Hatori wanted to approach, but didn't feel he should. He was sure that it was his fault that Shade was in such a condition.
