Lee nodded. "Okay. Call Kyo!" He said.
Tadao grabbed the phone, seeing as it was nearest him, set it on the counter, and slid it in Shade's direction, so it would be closer.

Shade stood up and picked up the phone, dialing Kyo's number then holding it up so she could talk to him. She waited patiently for the man to pick up. It was fair, in the last couple years, Kyo had gotten TALL. Shade didn't grow any taller once she hit seventeen, so she hardly went up to his shoulder, and she was even short on Tadao...

"Hello?" Came a gruff voice from the other end. Kyo. It sounded like Tohru was fussing over Ryuzaki in the background. That, or she'd dropped something again.
Lee spilled something--how on earth did he get a glass of milk? Tadao groaned and left the pancakes. They still had to cook on that side for a few more minutes anyway. Again, he wished he was as good as Hatori when it came to sensing when someone was doing something. He cleaned the mess, then returned to the pancakes. Lee seemed to enjoy causing trouble...

Shade grumbled something at Lee, scolding the boy for making a mess then not helping clean it up before she went back to Kyo.
"Hi Kyo." She said, her voice cheery for at least the 'Hi!' part before it cracked and she coughed. She made a face at herself before talking again, her voice rough now.
"Tadao, Lee, and I decided to come by and visit. There are a couple things that I kinda want to talk about." She said to him, twirling a strand of her silky black hair around her finger.

"All right," Kyo replied. He frowned, and his concern was audible as he tried not to sound worried as he asked, "You've still got that cough?"
Lee conveniently 'didn't hear' his mother scold him and just went on doing whatever it was he was doing. He seemed to be sneaking around to see just how much he could get away with before one of his parents snapped.

"Yeah." Shade said. "I went to Hatori, and... well, it's not good, but I think it's a converstation that I want to save for in person." Shade told him, glacing over at Kyo. "And we'll be over as soon as I can get my son to get still so he can eat his breakfest when Tadao is done." She said, a smirk still apparent in her hoarse voice.

Kyo sighed. "Fine, I'll see you then." He didn't hide his worry that time. "Um... take care, okay? And like Tohru says..." this time it was his turn to smirk. "...be safe." He chuckled a bit, then hung up.
Tadao groaned as Lee accidentally--really, it was an accident this time!--knocked down the entire carton of eggs. Tadao'd managed to catch a few too.
"I wish I was as good as Hatori when it came to keeping an eye one people..."

Shade sighed and put down the phone.
"Clean it up, Lee." She told the boy, grabbing a wash cloth that had happened to be sitting on the counter then running it under the focet real quick. She wrung out the excess water and handed the damb cloth to Lee.

Lee pouted, trying to guilt one of his parents into doing it for him.
"Clean it up," Tadao said. Then he cursed under his lips. The pancakes burned a bit. He put them on a plate, then put more batter on the griddle.

Shade smirked and Tadao, then picked up a random book and sat down, reading the ending first.

Tadao arched an eyebrow at her. "That's no way to read a book. What's the point in reading if you know how it'll end?" He asked her. He bent down to help Lee absentmindedly.

Tadao shook his head. Somehow he'd ended up cleaning the rest of Lee's mess. At least Lee had helped. "Lee, go wash your hands." Didn't want him eating with raw eggs all over his hands. He finished making the food and set the table. "Let's eat," he said.

Shade smirked again and set down the book. She got up and got three plates down, putting pancakes on each of them. Next she went to the fridge to get butter and syrup.

Tadao smiled and after everything was at the table, he sat down. Lee sat as well, and attacked his pancakes, not even bothering with silverware.
Tadao made a face. "Lee," he sighed. "Quit eating like an animal. I'll get napkins..." he said, standing up again. He came back and started wiping Lee off. The kid was all sticky now.

"It's yummy," Lee whined.
"It tastes just as good as when you use a fork," Tadao told him, putting the fork in the boy's sticky hand. It was fairly difficult to eat pancakes with chop sticks.

Shade began to eat her pancakes. She wasn't really all that hungry, but ever since she had gotten sick, she had lost her appetite. She tried to eat a whole pancake though. She had noticed that since she had got sick, she had lost weight- something at first Shade had considered a good thing, but don't tell anybody that because Shade would get upset.
