Four days.
Four days Shade had been in a coma. About this time, the whole Sato family knew. Kyoshi and Kiyoshi came to visit her often. Kira practically camped out in the hospital.
Kyoshi sat in a chair, eating a bag of chips. The three people were pretty much silent.
"Red bull." Kyoshi finally said, breaking the silence.
"... What?" Asked Kira.
"Red bull. That's a sure way to wake her up." Kyoshi said, still staring infront of her, not looking at Kira and Kiyoshi.
"Yeah... but we'd have to pour it down her IV." Kiyoshi added, also looking in front of him.
Silence again.
The three of them had gotten up to get more food, and that's when he came in.
All of the Sato family had found out, Even Moshi.
His eyes quickly scanned the room, then he quickly walked up to the woman at the counter and asked in a hushed voice where Shade was.
The woman gave him a sympathetic look, early that day another person had come in looking for the same girl and she had found out her condition. She told him the room, he nodded once and thanked her before walking as quickly as he could to it.
He paused outside the door of her room, before peeking in the window. He smirked, now one was there.
"Well, you lived your whole life, alone, and now you are going to die alone." He murmured, before pushing into the room.
The soft beeping of her heart monitor proved that Shade was still hanging on, but her heart had stopped beating three times.
--
Kira returned to the waiting room, with a bottled water. She opened it and drank some. The doctors had told Kira about the coma. Shade was perfectly fine. Shade could wake up at any second...
But it seemed that Shade didn't want to wake up. They asked her about her history, and Kira had no other choice then to tell them.
Now that she thought about it, Kira felt horrible.
--
Moshi walked over to Shade bed. Shade's eyes were closed. He gently tugged out her breathing tube, then tossed it aside. Her breathing was ragged.
Her leaned over her, she looked Kira. He smiled slightly to himself. Finally. Shade was going to die, like she deserved.
He closed his hands around her throat.
“Stop it! Stop it!” Struggled a young, black haired girl as he uncle grabbed her arms, and shook her violently.
“Don’t tell me what to do!”
“Let go of me!”
“No!”
He slammed Shade into the wall. There was a sickening thud as she made contact with it. She groaned as her head bashed against it. He let go of her, and kicked her.
Shade was about twelve, even then she was being hurt, kicked, and abused.
He pulled her up off of the ground. Her nose was bleeding, and her eye was swollen shut. He pushed her against the wall, and gripped her throat with one hand…
Shade’s eyes suddenly flew open. She inhaled painfully, confused, in pain, and scared. She instantly saw him.
Him.
She struggled against the hand on her neck, unable to breathe. But it was futile. The drugs made her weak, unable to fight back. All she could do was desperately push on his face and pull at his hands.
She felt weak again, black appeared around her vision. No… she refused to pass out. She struggled to stay awake and fight against her uncle.
One arm flew out, knocking over her IV, ripping the needles out of her wrist. It hurt, but she didn’t notice. The sound could probably be heard from outside, but one would just think that someone dropped something.
Shade tried to scream, but couldn’t. A coldness gripped her. Starting first at her limbs, then turning them numb.
She was about to pass out, and there was nothing she could do about it. The last thing that she would see, would be the deranged face of her uncle’s, hovering over her body…
