Trouble

Maliki was just sitting in the main room at a desk not really doing anything. He had been working on math homework but then he had sort of spaced out after getting stuck on a question. It seemed that he did this a lot. But it wasn't a big deal. It would get done later. He glanced around wondering slightly where Nadia was.

Aidan wondered out and saw Maliki at the table. Nadia was probably around too. Since her sister and herself hadn't gone anywhere in a while. She was actually starting to think about going back to school. Not that they had really gone in the first place. "Hi Maliki." She greeted quietly.

((You bring Kaito and the police in. XD I'll get muse sooner of later. XP))

Nadia walked in next. She'd been hanging around in the kitchen watching someone cook. She had two bowls of lentil soup in her hands. "Aidan, I got lunch for you an me," she said. She looked around the room and smiled when she saw Maliki. "Hi, Maliki," she said, walking to her sister, still smiling at Maliki. She handed off one of the bowls to Aidan.

Just then the door was slammed open and bounced off the wall and nearly closed again. But a foot stopped it. Then in came Kaito, with two police officers.

Nadia's smile was whiped away immediately, replaced with a look of complete terror.

Maliki was surprised and jumped up out of the chair he had been sitting on. He had several reasons to be very careful with his temper. Mostly because there were police and he was indoors. "What are you doing here?" He asked an edge to his tone.

Aidan's eyes showed obvious fear and her face was surprised all the same.

((*bangs head on keyboard* I should have more muse for this. XP))

((You're tired. That's what it is. XD))

"I want my kids back," Kaito said.

"Yes," one of the officers said. "This man says that Aidan and Nadia are his children, and you won't allow for them to go back home."

"We don't want to go back!" Nadia suddenly said, letting out the outburst without thinking. But she didn't go further.

((Yeah probably. XD))

Aidan nodded agreeing with Nadia. "If we wanted to we would have gone back..." She muttered.

Maliki glanced at the two then back at the police officer. "Besides. Kaito is abusive. Who would want to go back to that?" He accused the edge in his tone still there. But he was controlling his temper so far.

"Why you little--! Don't accuse me of such a thing! I've never done anything to hurt these girls," Kaito lied.

"Now, now, Kaito, why don't you let the kids speak?" The second policeman said.

"He really is abusive," Nadia said. "He... he..." tears welled up in her eyes. "He killed our brother. And Mom..." her lip trembled now.

Aidan swallowed the lump in her throat. "Maliki helped us so we wouldn't have to go back there..." She said but her voice broke at the end.

Maliki glanced at the cops then back at the twins. They both looked like they were about to cry.

[Akkii]

The police officers nodding. "We believe you, but we'd like proof."

Nadia wasn't sure what to say. Was her brother's body still buried in the yard, or had Kaito dug it up?

"Like what?" Maliki asked not really wanting to say 'bodies' at the moment.

Aidan bit her lip for a moment. "Well... Most of the bruises have healed." She murmured thinking the same thing Nadia was thinking.

[Akkii]

Nadia had a good feeling she knew Aiden was thinking the same thing as she. Twin telepathy. "Should we?" She murmered to her sister.

Aidan nodded. "You say it." She said choking a bit.

Maliki looked worriedly at the girls. They both seemed and looked very afraid, not to mention the fact that he could almost smell the fear.

[Akkii]

"We... we could show you our brother's..." Nadia gulped, hot tears filling her eyes. "O-our brother's body..." A few tears rolled down her cheeks.

"Okay. Should we do it right now. And... young man," one of the cops looked at Maliki. "You want to come along? The girls seem close to you."

[LoneWolf]

Maliki glanced at the cops. He was afraid that if he went he would lose his temper. But on the other hand he didn't want to let the girls go basically alone. So he nodded simply, walking over to stand beside Nadia and Aidan.

Aidan glanced at Nadia. She put her arm around her sister and lay her head on Nadia's shoulder. "Sorry." She murmured, tears starting to form in her eyes.

[Akkii]

Nadia nodded, and laid her head on Aidan's momentarily. "S'okay," she said thickly, as if still crying. Well, her eyes were tearing up.

The policemen led the four people out. Kaito, Nadia, Aidan, and Maliki.

The police car was a big van. The policemen sat up front. then Kaito sat in the two seats in the middle of the van, and Nadia led Aidan with her to sit in the back. She hoped Maliki would sit with them too.

When everyone was in the police man in the front seat started driving.

Maliki of course sat in the back. He wasn't going to sit by the demon of a person. He was seated by Nadia now and Aidan was on her other side. So Nadia was in the middle. "You okay?" He asked her in a whisper voice weaved with worry.

Aidan glanced at Nadia. It was strange how she seemed to lean on Nadia for support while Maliki allowed Nadia to do the same to him. Which in a way he helped them both. For the longest time it had just been her and Nadia leaning on each other in a way. Now Maliki helped them both. But Aidan found it obvious that he favored Nadia. Aidan wasn't jealous. She was happy for her sister, since her sister seemed to like Maliki too.

Nadia nodded a bit stiffly, as if trying her best not to show how upset she was right now.

Maliki slipped out of the car before standing off to the side of the car waiting for the two girls to get out. He despised what their father was putting them through. They were just eight, it wasn't any better then his parents practically kicking him out of the house.

Aidan hesitantly got out standing close to Maliki. She didn't want to be here. She wanted to be back at the shelter or just somewhere else. Somewhere safe with her sister, away from her father. "I-I don't know... Exactly where the... Grave is..." She stumbled over her words and spoke quietly, looking down.

[Akkii]

"I-I think he's in... Momma's flowerbeds..." Nadia said, taking her sister's hand and squeezing it. She, with her sister, led everyone around to the backyard and over to the flowers.

"D-do we have to dig him up?" She asked, turning to the police officers, eyes brimming over with tears.

[LoneWolf]

"No." Maliki answered not even wanting to think about someone making them go through that along with what was already happening. He had simply followed and now stood beside Aidan, Aidan being on Nadia's other side. Yet still slightly behind the two.

Aidan knew she could do that. That would be as bad as burying her brother. Scary. "N-No... I won't..." She murmured looking down and shaking her head.
