Trouble

One of the policemen shook their head. "No, you don't. You say he's in your mother's flowerbeds? We'll dig him up, there will be a funeral service for him, and Kaito," the police officer turned to the father. "I believe that you will be going to jail, when we find your son's body," the officer said. He turned to the other officer and told him to take the children home. And keep Kaito with him so the man didn't run off. The officer followed the orders and, handcuffing Kaito for the timebeing, took them all to the car.

Nadia stayed behind for a moment to give the officer the exact location of where she and her sister had buried their baby brother. He nodded, and after she headed back to the car, began digging.

Maliki, who seemed to have been not breathing, relaxed a bit. Unsure of what else there was to do he got into the car taking a window seat. Aidan left the middle seat for Nadia and took the other seat. It would be how they were sitting before.

Nadia got into the car and sat int he seat she'd been sitting in.

The officer got Kaito into the passenger seat, and then got into the driver's seat himself.

"Where to, kids? Back to the Runaway shelter for now?" He asked.

Nadia nodded meekly. "Y-yeah," she said.

Honestly, she felt like she was going to throw up, she was so stressed out right now.

Aidan glanced at her sister. They both probably felt the same. Terrible. She leaned over and wrapped her arms around Nadia putting her head on her sisters shoulder. "It'll be okay..." She murmured to quiet for anyone in the front to hear.

Maliki glanced at Nadia and Aidan. They were quite close. Which had to be nice among all this chaos. He was glad e could be here with them. To help. At least he hoped he was helping with things and not making them worse. "You two okay?" He asked in hushed voice.

"We'll be fine," Nadia said quietly, in a tired sort of voice, as she laid her head on top of Nadia's, and wrapped her arms around her sister the way Aidan was with her.

Finally the car stopped outside of the runaway shelter. Maliki was relieved that things hadn't gone to bad. But he still wished that the two hadn't had to go back to that place. He glanced at the two girls before slipping out and opening the door and stepping aside for them.

Aidan was ready to be in her and Nadia's room at the shelter. Just curled up in bed. Asleep or not either way, in bed. So she gently pulled away to get out of the car. Well, she was no longer in a car with her father which was a nice thought all together.

Nadia got out with her sister, breathing out a sigh of relief, realizing for the first time that she'd been holding her breath most of the ride, only breathing when she felt she needed it.

Kaito glared in a deathly way at the girls and Maliki, and Nadia instinctively shrinked back. She stood behind Maliki.

Maliki narrowed his eyes at Kaito holding his ground for now. But as Nadia shrunk back behind him he decided it would be best to go inside.

Aidan shrunk the same and stepped back to stand by Nadia. She was frightened even if he was in cuffs. Not to mention she felt slightly bad that she was practically using Maliki as a shield. Not that he seemed to mind at all.

Maliki shot one last glare at Kaito before turning back to the girls and looked down at them. "Lets go inside now." He murmured to them.

Aidan nodded and without looking at her father turned and went back into the shelter. She hadn't run or walked fast. She tried to stay strong and not look as scared as she had been or was.

Nadia somehow managed to not start running for the shelter as quickly as she could, but instead did the same as her sister, and walked at a regular pace.

Maliki simply walked after the two and opened the door for Nadia, since Aidan was already inside.

Once inside he simply leaned up against the wall watching Nadia and Aidan for a moment. "That's over with..." He muttered. Although now they had the funeral to worry about. Not something he was really anticipating.

Aidan nodded unable to speak over the lump in her throat. Swallowing roughly she now spoke. "Thank you..." She murmured.

Nadia nodded. "Y-yeah..." she murmered. Though, tears started filling her eyes again, and the lump in her throat only grew larger. She swallowed a couple times, and finally managed to blink her tears away. "Th-thanks so much..."

Maliki found himself once more angry at Kaito but forced the anger down. None would show. Maybe a slight flash but he hoped it would go unnoticed. "Don't worry about it." He replied now walking over to her. "Why don't you go sit down? Your not hungry or thirsty or anything are you?" He asked looking down at her.

Aidan glanced at Maliki not wanting to say anything. She didn't think she could take any food or anything right now so she just shook her head no.

Nadia shook her head vigorously. She definitely didn't feel like eating right now. Or drinking.

Maliki nodded. "Not tired are you?" He asked thinking of things to ask, just trying to give them other things to think about. Sort of. Although he didn't think it was working.

Aidan shook her head again. "I don't think we could sleep..." She murmured voice cracking slightly.

Nadia went so she was standing by her sister, and put her arm around her shoulds to comfort her twin. "I don't wanna go to bed. We'd have bad dreams, if we could get to sleep," she said.
