Hatori walked up to Kira's door. Before knocking, he looked at the small, navy blue velvet box in his hands. He opened it to take another look at the ring inside it. It was silver, and almost looked as if it had a thin string of diamonds twined around the silver band. He shut the box and put it in his pocket. It had taken a lot of thinking about this decision. He didn't want anything bad to happen like last time, but Kira was stronger than Kana was. He knew that, and he knew that she wouldn't blame herself, if he were to get hurt. But he also hoped she didn't end up being hurt. He took in a deep breath when he realized he was terribly nervous and knocked, putting on that small smile he always had when he came to Kira's house. He'd ask her to walk with him in that meadow he'd shown her. The place where he'd ofter gone with Kana. And he'd propse.
He waited for someone to answer the door.

Kira answered the door, her face lighting up when she saw Hatori.
"Hello, Hatori." She said, a soft smile on her face. Wow, this was unexpected. She opened the door wider for him.
"Come in." She said softly.

Hatori stepped in. He kissed Kira on the forehead. "Mm, Kira, do you wanto to go for a walk with me? We could take a picnic." The excitement he felt was currently hidden, by his usual calm way, but he almost showed how excited he was by grinning more widely. He corrected that very quickly though. No hints.

"That's a good idea." Kira said to Hatori. "Are we going back up to the medow?" She asked. It was fairly warm today. About fifty five degrees. She'd only need a jacket becausse of the wind.

Hatori chuckled. "Guess I am, huh?" He picked up the basket and led her outside, taking her hand with his free hand.

Kira followed him outside. She was smiling a bit as he took her head and led her.

After a while they reached the meadow. Hatori grinned and set down the basket, opening it. This was just like a dream, and he prayed this one didn't end like the last one. He pulled out a blanket he had put into the basket and laid it on the ground for them to sit.

She sat down, smiling at him. Hatori... she loved him. That summed up everything that she thought of him. The look on her face was pure bliss.

"Kira, after we eat..." Hatori leaned in close, his face inches away from hers. "...there's a question I want to ask you. Okay?" He smiled at her again, pulling away now, and reaching into the basket to get food for him and her.
"So let's eat quickly."

Kira was wondering what Hatori was going to ask her.
She smiled, it was a small, but very happy smile. "Alright." She said, getting some food. She continued to ponder what quiestion Hatori might ask her.

Hatori ate his food. He wasn't very hungry, but he had a sandwhich, and a small bag of chips, and was now drinking out of a water bottle, waiting for Kira to finish.

Kira had finished quickly. Some what eager to hear the quiestion. She held her bottle of water in her hands, Her peridot colored eyes wandered over to Hatori. She didn't say anything, she waited for Hatori to ask his quiestion.

Hatori's hand went into his pocket and he took the navy blue velvet box out of his pocket. Kira wouldn't see it because it was concealed in his hand. He took her hand in his free one, and got on his knees. Since they were both sitting down there really was no point in the going down on one knee thing. He opened up the other hand to show the box. He opened it, letting go of her hand now.
"Kira..." he suddenly felt nervous. He swallowed and started again. "Kira, I love you. I love you so much. So... I wanted to ask you if you'd like to... marry me."

((OMG. I'm actually tearing up XDDDD)))
Kira gasped, her free hand was brought to her mouth. She hadn't expected this... this was wonderful... this... this... it was beyond words how she felt. Pure bliss. It was like a dream. But it was real. This was actually happening. And out of all the people, he had chosen her.
She nodded, her eyes tearing up. She needed to find her voice, so that she could say something.
"Yes!" She exlaimed, a tear trickled down her cheek. She was crying out of happiness. It was like the snow had finally melted... and now it was spring.
Now, it was spring.
"I love you, Hatori, more then anything in the world." She said softly, trying to keep herself from crying more. A huge smile was streched across her face. Another tear fell down her face.

Hatori was crying himself now. Smiling, but crying. Like Kira, he felt as if the cold snow was melting again.
"Spring..." he murmered. But he knew there was one more thing they'd have to do. "Tomorrow, Kira, we will have to go to the head of my family. And ask if he will allow us to marry," he said. "I'm praying everything will go well." He kissed her softly on the lips.

Kira kissed Hatori back. When she pulled away, she smiled softly.
"I Hope everything goes well..." She looked do happy, crying out of joy. "This is amazing." She murmured.
