Alice sat in the large room on the first floor of the Cullens' extravagant (sp?) house, along with most of her family. They were all speaking to one another, very low. Her gaze went blank for a short moment.
"Hatori Sohma is visiting today..." She said to the others. "He should be here soon, if he doesn't change his mind."
Kohana, who was sitting beside Devon, went rigid. "Hatori-san?! But... He... Why?!" She exclaimed.
"I don't know." Alice admitted. "He keeps changing his reasons in his head, I think. Keeps making the decision of what to tell us. Like, he's coming to check on you, Kohana. Or, he wishes to get to know Dr. Carlisle Cullen," Her eyes flashed to her adoptive father. "Or, he truly wishes to know why Kohana tried to..." She trailed off, not wanting to upset Kohana. But it still upset her and Kohana hung her head in shame.
Then there was a knock at the door.

Carlisle got up to answer the door. Esme was right behind him.
He opened the door, staying clear of the beaming sunlight.

"Hello." Hatori said. "I came here to..." He hesitated for a single moment. "To meet Dr. Carlisle Cullen, and to check on Kohana as well." He said.
So he chose those two reasons. Alice thought.

Carlisle smiled warmly with his god-like face. He opened the door widely and stepped into the shadow of house. They hadn't yet added a large window in the back of the house, so they were safe and when Alice announced that Hatori was coming to visit, Jasper and closed all the curtains to the normal windows.
"I'm Carlisle." He said. "This is my wife, Esme, and my adopted children, Edward, Alice, Jasper, David, and Ember. And my brother, Devon." He said.
Edward said a poliet gretting, along with Jasper, David, and Devon. Ember said a short and sweet hello like the little lady she was brought up to be, then waited to be spoken to.

Hatori stepped in. "Oh yes. I've met Devon a few times." He said, sending a quick smile to his cousin's lover.
"Thank you for introducing me to your family." He added politely. He slowly turned his head to Kohana. "And Kohana, how are you doing?"
"Fine." Kohana replied in her new bell-like voice. It still startled Hatori-- along with the red eyes-- considering he wasn't used to it.

Ember gave Kohana a small smile, but it was also a warning to her to appear more human.

Kohana suddenly remembered she should fidget now and then and crossed her legs. She sent a thankful smile to Ember.
Hatori wasn't sure what to say in the moment, so he waited for Carlisle or any of the other people in the room to say something.

"I'll get you somthing to eat." Ember said sweetly and got up. Her light brown skirt drifted behind her as she walked gracefully to the kitchen. Her ruby red hair that fell to almost the middle of her back swayed back and forth as she made her way to the kitchen and walked around to get food for the guest.
Edward almost chuckled at how lady-like Ember was acting. He walked in too help her. Ember murmered somthing to him, as she was carrying some food out to him.
"...I feel it." She said softly to Edward. The first part of the sentence was too quiet for human ear's to catch, but her voice elevate slightly, makeing it easier for him to hear those last three words.
She went on murmering to Edward after they sat down. Probably explaining to the vampire's in the room that he was cursed.
((Mehehe. I'm dropping more clues for Hatori, hoping he'll find out sooner or later that they are vampires, and little Shadie happens to be unknowingly related to them XD))

"Thank you." Hatori murmered to Ember when she went to get the food. As she walked in, he heard her say 'I feel it.' He would have asked what she meant, but he knew he wasn't meant to hear that so he didn't say anything. But Ember's words kept echoing through his mind. For now Hatori shrugged it off. He turned back to Carlisle. "Excuse me, would you mind if you and I spoke alone?" He asked.

Carlisle nodded and led Hatori to his office, where he walked in and shut the door behind him, though he knew his children could still hear what they were saying.

"Carlisle," Hatori began. His voice was different, harder, a little more concerned. "I'd like to know what exactly is going on with Kohana-chan. She and Devon came for a visit, I accidentally got cut by a knife, and she tried to attack me. Her eyes are crimson, too. And her voice, it's so different... and just he whole appearance. What's going on?"

Carlisle sighed and looked down.
"Kohana is going to be different for a long time. And she's never going to look the same..." Carlisle said, trying to explain.

Hatori nodded. "Yes, but what's going on? I... once overheard Akito and Devon talking, mentioning something about how he is a vampire..." He trailed off at the end, feeling foolish.

Though Hatori was feeling foolish enough all ready, he said in his defense, "Anybody who's ever seen a vampire wouldn't know what one looked like, would they?"

Hatori sighed. He had more things he could have said in his defense, but he was already feeling foolish enough as it was. "I'm sorry. I'm just worried about my cousin. I want to know what's going on and what's happened to her."

"It's her choice." He said. "She has expressed a desire not to go back, and I will not force her to do anything she does not want too. Sh also seems pretty attatched to David..." He said.
