Ember didn't know what was going on. But she remembered that last name all too well.
Do you think she could be my kin? It would be nice to know I have some family left...after what I did to them Ember thought, those were directed towards Edward. Edward glaced at Ember for half a second, his gaze said 'Maybe'.

Shade watched the perfect faimly sit there silently for a minute. It looked as if they were having a secret conversation.

Yuki looked confused. He knew that Edward and Ember were having a conversation, but he wanted to know what.

Kyo looked confused as well, but he also looked bored. "So," He said to Shade. "Tohru invite you to come sit here?" In his voice you could tell he had no problem with it. He was only curious.

"Yeah." She said, the corners of her mouth turned upward slightly.

Kyo nodded. He was amazed that for once Tohru had made friends with a normal person. First she had befriended a girl in a gang, then some wave girl, then him and Yuki, and then the Cullens. It was amazing how many... different friends she could have.

The loud, humming sound of people talking didn;t seem so loud to Shade anymore, since she could talk to somone now.
"When'd you and Tohru become friends?" She asked him, brushing her scared knuckle through her jet black hair. THe four scars were all in the same place right below her knuckles. She had told people, when he hand had broken, that it was an accident and she fell.

But that wasn't the case.

"A few months ago, May I think. Last school year." Kyo explained. He was slightly curious, he had noticed the scars. Hey, he didn't notice every little thing like a vampire, but with just the slightest cat instincts he had, he'd managed to notice her scars on her knuckles. Now he was debating whether to ask about them or not.

Instead Kyo decided to talk about Yuki's broken arm. "Hey, did you notice Yuki's arm? It seems he's a huge klutz sometimes." He snickered to himself, glad that he could use Yuki's excuse for his arm against him.

She laughed quietly.
"Yeah." She said

Yuki shot a glare at Kyo. "Shut up, idiot..." He muttered under his breath. Not really wanting anyone to hear. If it were just him and Kyo he might have said it louder.

Shade smirked slightly as Yuki glared at Kyo.

The way they glared and fought...they were like a cat and a mouse.

Shade walked in through the front door. SHe dreaded this m oment every day of her life. She hated it, wished it would dissapear. But she stepped through the front door, like everyday. Her face turned blank and she hide her emotions.

Just like everyday.

And just like everyday, her uncle would call her by her nickname. Rabbit. And just like everyday. He would explain why she had that name.
"Because your small and weak. You hide from everthing around you and you will never ammount to anything at all." He hissed the words out. Shade was so used to the, she didn't flinch.
But then, came the other words. They changed from day-to-day. Today though...today was much diffrent.
"You are stupid, weak, and a terrible person. You hurt others around you to feel better!" He snapped. She flinched.
"You don't care about anyone but yourself. You never have cared about anyone else. You always felt sorry for yourself. Poor Shade." He laughed out the last two words.
"This world would be better if you were gone. At least your mother's would. Why do you think she's dying right now? Your slowly killing her. ANyone you get close to, you kill. Your a disease. A plague." He spat. Then left, obvouisly discusted to be around the poor girl.

Tears spilled out of her liquid green fire eyes. They rolled down her bronze cheeks and splashed to the floor. She sniffed and wipped them awya. THen ran upstairs to her room.

Once inside, she took a look around. She didn't have much. She spirnted over to her dresser and opened up the doors. She looked at her outfits. For some reason, she wanted somthing pretty.
"Why do I have so much black?" She asked herself, still crying.
She found somthing nice. A pairs of jeans and a blue cammie with small, purple and green polka-dots. She appiled nice makeup and put her hair up. She looked like a new person.

It was dark outside by the time she was done. She grabbed a jacket and went outside, navigating herself between alleys untill she found a street. A perfect street for what she was about to do.

She was about to find a cure for her disease.

A set of headlight came closer. She took a deep breath. She wanted to look pretty for this. Maybe someone would think it was an accident. Why would such a pretty girl throw herself infront of a car?

They came closer and she breathed out. She flung herself out into the street. THe first think she heard was the schreeching of breaks and a crack in her ribs as she fell into the hood of the car. She fell to the ground, her wrist snapped and she groaned in pain, the back of her head hit the pavement, that made a loud thudding noise and mad eher ears ring. Her eyelids fluttered, slipping into unconsciences.

Hatori hadn't seen the girl until she'd thrown herself out in front of him, but by then it was too late. He rushed out of the car, not bothering to close the door. He saw the rise and fall of her chest and picked her up carefully, as to not embrace her. He managed to open the door that led to the back seats and carefully set her in. He closed her door and drove quickly but carefully back to the Main House. He carried her in and a few maids watched. One offered to help him carry her and he quickly accepted. They carried her into his office and then the maid left to let Hatori do his work. He quickly took x-rays of her. She had a cracked rib and a broken wrist, along with some bruises, but they wouldn't need treatment. He took care of the broken bones as quickly as he could. The girl had gotten lucky. The injuries could have been much more serious. He sat in a chair watching her, waiting for her to wake up. He had a bottle with painkillers in his hand, so she could have some when she woke up.

After a while, her eye lids opened. She glaced around quickly. Her eyes widened in fright when she saw Hatori and she pulled away from the doctor, half expecting him to hit her across the face or somthing.

When she saw that he wouldn't, she calmed down, but eyed him carefully. Her scarred, unbroken hand gribbed the edge of the chair, as if ready to run out the minute the doctor did turn mean.

She made a mental note to herself not the throw herself infront of doctor's cars.

"How are you feeling?" Hatori asked in a calm voice. He started to open the bottle of pain killers slowly. The girl would certainly need them soon enough.

"...fine." She said quietly. "Can I leave?" She asked, her hand now wrapped around her rib cage. She knew the answer to the quiestion as soon as she asked it. But she didn't feel safe here. She probably never felt safe anwhere, but she was in a strange man's house, which made her feel extra frightened.

She tried not to show it. She put on her calm, emotionless mask, she took a deep breath, her eyes quickly darting from Hatori to the door.

Hatori was pretty sure the girl was hurting and stood up. "I'm going to get you some water." And then he answered her question. "I do not think it would be a good idea for you to leave today. Tomorrow afternoon. I know you probably feel uncomfortable, not knowing me at all... Let me introduce myself. I'm Hatori Sohma." Hatori wasn't sure if it would make her feel any better with her knowing her name, but he figured it the polite thing to do.

"Sohma?" She asked, tilting her head.
"Are you related to Kyo Sohma?" She asked.

Hatori nodded. "Yes. You know him?" For a moment the glass of water that he was going to get Shade was forgotten.
