Azriel had decided to go and visit Jade today. Maybe he would actually introduce himself as her boyfriend today. They knew him as a friend, though he hadn't really met them. Since he didn't want to go into ages and such. Jade's family didn't need to know about vampires. That would be really bad. Volturi slaughter bad. Or at least threaten and doing, because they always carry out their threats. Even if it took them thirty years or so to do so...
The vampire knocked on her door and leaned back on his heels. He had called earlier so she would, at least should, be expecting him. Taking a slight step back he wondered vaguely what to do today. The whole parents thing would probably be awkward though... He then started doing the math in his head. right now he was about two years older. So he would have been fifteen three years ago. The whole growth thing just didn't want to work for him.
((Bleh... It's bad but a start. XD I figured they could go through that notion. The boyfriend thing. XD))

Jade rushed hastily to the door, checked through the window to see who it was, then opened the door to let him in. "Hey. I told Mom I'd be introducing my boyfriend to her. I'm too scared to tell Dad," she admitted. "Dad's on a meeting right now, so... we'll just see Mom, okay?" She sounded a little relieved that her father was busy. She got out of the way for him to come in.

Azriel smirked. "Alright. Whatever works for you." He said stepping in the house once she had moved. The vampire glanced around before looking back at her. He could smell her mother. So there was no use in asking where she was. "So, lead the way?" He asked, smiling just slightly now.

Jade nodded and led him almost agravatingly slow to the kitchen. "Umm... Mom...?"
"Yes?" Her mother turned and smiled. "Oh, hi Azriel," she said.
"Uh... Mom, this is... my... boyfriend."
Deanna nodded approvingly. She liked Azriel. He seemed like a good kid. Not a bad influence on Jade. "Mm-hm..." It was still hard to believe Jade had a boyfriend.

Azriel nodded slightly. If Jade was afraid of how her mother would react then her father couldn't react that badly... Right? He looked back at Jade.
"So what are we doing today?" He asked.

Jade shrugged uneasily and checked the 'in use' light on the phone base. Crap, it was't on. Dad would be down any minute. She stood sort of quietly, then her mother said to Azriel, "Take care of mine 'Day,' okay?" She gave Jade a teasing smile.
Jade flushed. "Mom..." she mumbled under her breath, horribly embarrassed. Then she head her father's heavy footsteps come down the stairs, and he entered the kitchen, wearing baggy sweats an an old t-shirt.
"Hi," he said to Azriel, and then started going into some talk with Deanna about something happening at work.
"James," Jade's mother interrupted. "Jade has something to tell you."
James nodded and Jade seemed to visibly shrink. "Ummm... Daddy? Azriel is... my... boyfriend--" She'd barely finished the sentence when her father spoke.
"What?! You can't have a boyfriend! You're too young!" He looked mad, and Jade flinched. Dad was scary when he was angry.
"D-Dad, I'm... I'm eightteen. I'm not too young to have a boyfriend..." Jade mumbled, looking down at her hands as she wrung them. Then, a little more confident, she said, "I've known Azriel for a while now. I know that he'd be a good boyfriend. And... didn't Mom meet you when she was seventeen?"
"But you're not your mom," James said, his voice still fairly loud. One of the boys peeked in before rushing back out when their mother gave him a look.
"Dad, please," Jade said.
"Fine," James snapped after what felt like an eternity. Jade hugged him, then, standing on her tiptoes, murmured, "I'm still your little girl, okay? I just have a boyfriend now."
He grunted and walked out, in a bad mood now.
"Well, that went better than expected..." Jade mumbled. Her father's booming voice was still ringing in her eardrums, though.

Well, he was wrong about her father taking it as good as Jade's mother had. Either way it didn't seem to go to bad. He glanced back down at Jade, though she was pretty much the same height as he was now.
"Heh... So that wasn't too bad?" He asked tilting his head slightly. The vampire was still used to his day when too young was, like, ten. A lot changes as the centuries pass.

Jade shook her head. "No."
"Could have been worse," Deanna pointed out lightly. "He might've just grounded you."
Jade nodded. "He didn't though. I'd bet in his mind, I owe him big time, right?"
"Exactly," Jade's mother said, smirking a bit.
"Let's go do something," Jade said to Azriel. "Go somewhere..." She didn't want to be around while her dad was sulking.

"Mom! Azriel and I are going to the fair, is that okay?" Jade called.
"No problem, sweetie," Deanna responded. Jade nodded and headed out. "Are we walking or driving? I could ask if I can take the camry," she said to Azriel.

Jade nodded. She went in, asked, then came back with the keys.
"Mom said okay. You wanna drive?" She offered, walking into the garage and over to the white toyota camry. Her cat, Fuzzy, trotted in to eat some food.

Azriel shrugged. He had gotten a drivers liscense and didn't mind slowing down as much as the other vampires, so he didn't care who drove. Either way, it was a good thing Jade hadn't gotten together with a vampire that hated to go slow.
"If you don't want to." Yes, he was an odd vampire. At least that's what the Volturi said...

Jade shrugged. "I dun care." She got into the drivers' seat, deciding she'd drive, and started the car with a turn of the key. She sooo wished she owned her own car. A red pick-up truck. That'd be awesome.

((Muahaha. He should. xD And in case you're wondering, I'm not copying Bella with the whole red pick-up truck thing. xDD I'd just really like to have a /shiny/ dark red pick-up truck. <3 xD))
Jade drove. It took some time, but she had music playing and she was singing along as she drove. Her voice had improved quite a bit since she was fifteen, but she still thought it needed some work. She stopped in the parking lot for the fairgrounds and got out of the car.
"Hmmm... you have money?" Jade asked hopefully. She'd left her wallet at home. Crap. She was blushing a bit, feeling bad because she always asked him for money.

Azriel got out of the car as she had. "Yeah." He said smirking slightly as she flushed.
"You know, I think your voice has gotten better." The vampire stated; shutting the car door.

"Thanks..." Jade mumbled, looking down, a smile on her face. "I've been practicing a lot. I still need voice lessons, though." She frowned and headed to where they bought tickets. She had Azriel buy wristbands for the two of them, then went in with him.
There was something she'd been wondering about since she'd met him. "Um, Azriel? Can you tell me about your family...?"
