Akito walked into the Main House. Some of the maids, upon seeing her, froze, then greeted her, seeming to be completely hysterical. She was holding her breath. She hadn't eaten much, because she just hadn't felt the energy to leave that house in Alaska very much. And when she did, she merely searched for Dove. She was glad she had met the girl. Dove ahd certainly helped her. She went down several halls, and found her old room. It had been months. She had to see Devon. Had to see him. She didn't like how weak she felt from eating very little. She actually had to support herself when on the doorframe when she reached the door to her room. She took in deep breaths, despite the fact that the scents of all the people that lived here burned her throat and made venom flow into her mouth. She swallowed the silver liquid back, thankful for her good control. She could tell Devon was in there... with a woman. She felt angry for a moment, then reminded herself that if this was a new girlfriend, Devon had every right to be seeing someone else. She'd left. She'd signed those divorce papers. She felt ill. Hatori was right, people could feel ill psychologically too. She sighed, laying her head against the door before timidly sliding it open.
Yes. A woman, with Devon. The woman had just given Devon a tiny peck on the cheek. Akito's eyes flew wide, then looked down in shame. Her knees felt weak. Part of her wanted to collapse in exhaustion.
"A-ah... Devon, I'm... so..." Akito choked on her words and couldn't finish.
Kairi tilted her head as she saw the woman. Very beautiful even with the dark bruise-like shadows under her eyes and the somewhat disheveled hair.
"Oh, hello," Kairi said to Akito, a little bit of concern laced into her quiet greeting. She watched Akito shuffle in and shut the door behind her, leaning against it as if weakened. Well, she did look ill.

"Akito..." devon said softly, standing up forgetting Kairi for the time being. "Akito, why are you here?" He called out to her, not harshly though. His words were soft, ready to understand now.

Akito bit her lip and wrapped her arms around herself. "I... I..." It's not that she expected Devon to yell at her or something. She just felt so terrible for ever leaving... even if it had been against her will.
"Because... I-I got away. From K... Kaiser." She grit her teeth when she said his name. She looked up slightly to glance at Kairi, just out of curiousity.
Kairi stared back. She wasn't too upset that the woman was back. Of course, Kairi had feelings for Devon, but they hadn't gotten into some sort of serious relationship or anything. She was kind of happy. Though, she was beginning to be worried about Akito's well-being. Though she'd imagined Akito to be beautiful, she'd never pictured this. She'd pictured someone who looked a little more like Ren. Just a bit taller, longer hair, algae eyes.
Kairi suddenly realized something. The goddess that Devon had described... was a lot like Akito. Minus the stormy eyes, though. Akito's were a vibrant red, with gold tint.

Devon's eyes went wider. "Kaiser?" He asked in a meek voice. "Why were you with... nevermind." He remembered the kiss the two had shared.

Akito's eyes widened. "I swear to you it wasn't anything like that," she said quickly. "I didn't want to be with him in the first place." She hoped he believed her.

Devon sighed. "Why didn't you just walk away, then?" Devon asked her quietly. He didn't want any secrets to accidently slip infront of Kairi.

Akito sighed, and shuddered a bit at the memory. "He threatened to beat Mary," she explained. "Worse than he'd done to me. I didn't want that to happen to her."
Well, Kairi believed Akito. Though, she knew it was possible the woman was just lying. But she didn't want to think badly of the person that Devon had loved, and probably still did. It was pretty bad that the woman had gotten stuck with somebody who had beaten her, though. It seemed Akito was constantly having a tough time.
((Hmmm... he could... not believe her at first. If you want. xD Just so we can tortuer Akkii for a little longer.))

((XD Kay.))
Devon lifted an eyebrow. "So you left with no word what-so-ever? You have no idea what you did to Mary." Devon retorted.

Akito flinched. The words were like a slap in the face. "I... I know leaving hurt Mary. But would you have rathered that I stood by and allowed our daughter to be hurt worse than I was by that... that b*****d?!" She couldn't help the fact that her voice rose a bit. She'd gone through a lot, and she was back now, and had been hoping to find some sort of comfort.
Suddenly, looking crestfallen, she whispered, "I-If you don't want me here.... if you never want to see me again, I'll leave. You look v-very happy with her..." Akito's voice broke several times. She nodded at Kairi as she mentioned the woman. She probably would have been crying if she were still human. "But... I just wanted you to know that I love you and Mary more than anything else, and that's exactly why I left."
She hoped Devon didn't still think she was lying. Of course... the fact that she couldn't bring herself to meet his gaze was not helping the situation.

Devon looked unconvinced. "You seem in a hurry to leave." He informed her bitterly.
((ugh. XP My posts are baddd...))

Akito seemed to shrink.
"I'm sorry," she choked. "I honestly don't want to leave. I only want you to be happy. So... just tell me what will make you happy right now--whether I leave or stay or whatever it is that you want me to do, and I'll do it."
Kairi watched Akito. Though the woman still wouldn't meet Devon's eyes, something told her she was telling the truth. This person was definitely perfect for Devon. But she kept quiet, not feeling she was in any position to interject.

"Don't lie to me, Akito." Devon told the woman. "Please, don't lie to me. Don't make it harder then it already is."

Akito set one hand over her mouth for a moment. She looked truly hurt. Her hand fell back to her side.
"L-Lie? You think... you still think I'm lying to you?" She couldn't help it as her temper flared, and her eyes narrowed as she stared into his honey-gold eyes. One hand clenched into a fist. "I'm here, practically begging you for you to believe me, and forgive me, and you think I'm lying?!"
She squeezed her eyes shut tight and took in deep breaths, to calm down. She went back to staring downward. She couldn't blame him for not believing her. She knew she would have reacted worse than he had, saying things like 'You have some nerve for showing up again' and such. She knew that she had no right to yell at him for this.
"No... nevermind. I'm sorry. I... I shouldn't be yelling at you. I don't deserve you, anyway. I just wish that you could see that I am telling the truth..."
Kairi still stayed out of the conversation. She felt like she was eavesdropping. If she got into the conversation, she might have to pick sides anyway, but she didn't exactly want to.

Devon remained unconvinced. "What was your real reason for coming here, Akito?" Devon asked the woman.

Akito looked at him desperately. "My reason was to be with you! I'm not lying to you, Devon!"
It sounded like she was sobbing, but there were no tears. She couldn't help it that vampires could not shed tears. She held her head in her hands.
"All I want is to be with you and Mary!"

Devon was silent. "I'm sorry for not believing you, Akito." The man said to her.

Akito's eyes widened just slightly as she looked back up to him. Part of her thought she'd be forced to lie to satisfy him.
"So... so you... believe me... now...?" She paused a lot, as if she was being wary as she asked. The last thing she wanted was to have recieved what he'd said incorrectly somehow and get crushed by the answer, 'no'.

Devon sighed. "I don't know." He said. "But... I'll take you to see Mary if you want." He said softly.

Well, it wasn't a no. She stayed a little bit hopeful. But it really did hurt that he wasn't sure whether to trust her or not.
"Th-thank you," she mumbled. "I just have... one question..." she said quietly. "Do you.... do you still love me...? Or are you in love with... ehh... her?" She asked, nodding at Kairi. She would have called Kairi by her name, if she knew it.

Devon looked over at Kairi, then back at Akito. "Don't ask me complicated questions." He told the woman. "I'll take you to see Mary." He then looked up and over at Kairi. "I'll be back soon." He told her, before heading off to the gardens without another word.
