"Hm? Oh" Sarah said, looking up at him. "What do you remember last?" She asked him sleepily.

"Getting hit by a egg," he replied.

"Well, at least it was more than last time." Sarah said, propping her head on her hands. She half closed her eyes. "You are the only one I have met that is like me. I wonder if there are others." She murmured.

"Like us... Have you ever seen the incredible Hulk?" She asked.

"No. But I have heard of it. But even so, that's just a movie."

Sarh had blurted that out, she really hadn't meant to say it. "Oh, sorry. That movie just kind of reminds me of what happens." She shrugged. "Well, the person who threw the egg at you was that stupid jock that grabbed me in the lunch room. Him and his buddies wanted to get back at you for kicking his a$$." She looked at him. "They didn't though. You turned and beat them up... well, after i pulled them off of you and did some butt kicking of my own." She shuddered. Even though she could remember everything that had happened, she hadn't had control of her body at all. It was like she had to sit back and watch herself beat up someone much bigger than her.

Austin looked down," I don't know what I did, but I'm sorry that you had to be involved." Austin really wanted a friend, and he was hopeing that she'd be his friend. But, from what he thinks, and after what happened, she might just stay away from him. Just like everyone else.

"Hey, cheer up. I don'[t plan ditching you like everyone else has." Sarah said, looking at him in pity. "And I understand what it feels like to have no friends. I haven't had a real one since the sixth grade. But I moved, and every time i made a friend, they had no clue what happens when I snap. They all freaked out and left me in a ditch." She shrugged. "The past is the past, and I have yet another clean slate to work with."

Austin looked up, hope in his eyes. He- he made a friend! "Thanks," Austin said in a sad, but a bit cheerful voice.

Sarah slowly got up. "For what?" She asked, but smiled. She held out her hand to pull him up.

"For-" Austin paused, but then continued," for being my.....friend." He said the word as if it was sacred.

Sarahs laugh was good and natural and sweet. "You don't have to thank me for that. It's not like it's a bad word or anything." She looked down at him, and pulled him up. "Come on, I have to get home and crash for the next day or so." She said, rubbing her eyes. "I will walk you to your place first I think, as long as it doesn't pass mine."

"The projects?" Sarah asked. She had known a guy that had lived there and was in a gang. The only reason he was was because he had to pay for his father, who had been shot by another gang. He really was a good guy, but he looked like her could definitely beat some kids a$$. Looking at Austin, Sarah felt a twinge of worry. He was so small! Even if he snapped, it couldn't beat a bullet.

Austin looked down," thats another reason why they don't like me. They all have rich parents. But my mom......" Austin trailed off.

"It's okay. You don't have to say anything you don't want to." Sarah said.

Austin looked at her. She was the kindest person person he knew, other than his mom. Sarah was kind, sweet, and a good person. Austin nodded, and continued to walk.

Sarah followed him. It was still really light outside, and she really didn't have a curfew. "I'm still walking you home." She repeated stubbornly, walking next to him.
