Adalina had spent most of the week as a coyote. She had changed once or twice. Now she had wondered, in human form of course, into the mall. She didn't have any money but plenty of people were loitering in the mall. Although she was wearing some old clothes she had scrounged up a while back. Not that it bothered her a bit what she was wearing. Considering normally she was wearing fur. Walking around the mall was becoming uncomfortable. So many people here. It was quite crowded. Since it was summer there were a lot of kids around. Plus she swore she smelled monkey, possibly a werewolf. Although she knew she wouldn't have to really worry about vampires. It was a sunny day. If a vampire came out now they would certainly be noticed.
The walker bumped into a few people who gave her reproachful looks but said nothing. It was best that they hadn't spoken to her. She swore some looked disgusted to be touching her at all. Then again she thought she could have imagined some of it. Still, she tried to avoid people, until that made her run straight into the boy who smelled like a monkey. A Sohma? Well at least they hadn't embraced. That would have been bad for him. And she would have tried to yell 'tada' for anyone that had seen. Then she would have made up some story about turning him into a monkey and then she would have gathered him and the clothes and walked off laughing uneasily. Well, at least she had, had a plan.
"Sorry." She said, although he was the only one she had apologized too. The shifter just liked the Sohma's. Adalina figured it was because she just liked how they could also shift. But she didn't show much liking for werewolves. Then again that came from the fact that they enjoyed attacking and or chasing her.

Kenshin staggered back, surprised and wary. Shoot, it was a girl! That could have ended badly.
"Ano... It's my fault. I wasn't watching where I was going. Gomen," the boy replied. He was here with his siblings. He'd been put in charge, but... had kinda lost them when he'd started reading while walking. So now Akira was off somewhere with the two sets of twins. "I guess that shows me for reading and walking at the same time, huh?" He held up the book he'd been reading. The literature assignment for the summer had been to read it, then write a long essay on it. He smiled sheepishly. "Um, I'm Kenshin Sohma. You?"

"Adalina." She replied tilting her head slightly as she looked at the book. That was one thing she could do. Read. Otherwise she was terribly uneducated. But really she didn't see any use in knowing a lot of things. She could do simple math and the things that came in handy. The only reason she was good with history was because she liked to read and history actually interested her to some extent. Now she was wonderful when it came to mythology. At least to her she was good at it. A lot of things she was supposedly mistaking in. But she knew better. With vampires, werewolves, walkers, and fae especially.
"It's kinda hard to read and walk at the same time though isn't it?" She asked blinking. It was actually something she had tried several times. And it was really hard, at least as far as she knew it was. "I've met a few Sohma's too." She added lightly. Since she had been a human all day she was a little less odd today, and refrained from mentioning wolves, and anything similar.

"Well, I do it a lot. I usually don't run into people. I should be more careful." Kenshin laughed a bit. "Oh, and nice to meet you, Adalina-san. Which Sohmas do you know?" Did she know about the curse.

"Hm... Shigure, Momiji, Hatsuharu... Yuki, Kyo, and Akito." At least she was pretty sure those were all the ones she knew. She might know another one that she had forgotten. Which would be typical of her, since she was bad with names.

"It's unfortunate that you had to meet Akito," Kenshin commented. "But the others are good. Shigure's just strange. Since you met Yuki, Kyo and him, did you meet Tohru Honda?" He liked her, she was kind, and was able to accept the Sohmas so well.

"Yep. I've met her. She was nice." Adalina said. "But Akito wasn't that bad." She added. Examining him she was pretty sure he was cursed. Of course she didn't think it would be smart to mention that in a public place. "Yuki and Kyo fought like a cat and rat though. That's what I would expect though." She said thoughtfully, it was a hint without making people around them wonder. Although even if she had have spoken about the curse outright they wouldn't believe her. Who would believe that outright? At least what human would.

Kenshin caught on. So she did know. He nodded at that comment.
"Not that bad...?" He asked, surprised. Akito? "That's new. Especially around a girl. It seems... he's kinda sexist," he commented, under his breath.

Adalina covered her mouth and looked down as she laughed a bit. It was interesting how similar Akito was to a werewolf. The wolves weren't really bad to the females, but they still seemed to be stuck in the ages where woman were meant to be in the kitchen. And there were some werewolves that couldn't be trusted with new female were's. Because they could be rough and abusive in ways. "Eh, it may have helped that I'm not exactly normal and I left pretty quickly." She said looking back up.

"Ah, a strange outsider who was obedient," Kenshin said. "Interesting. I won't ask What's so strange about you. We all need to keep our secrets." He smiled at her. His voice was quiet, so nobody would really listen, and he was walking with her, toward a place with fewer people.
"Anyway, you hungry? It's lunch time and I haven't eaten yet. I've got plenty of money on me, so it's no big deal," Kenshin offered.

Adalina wasn't to worried about being careful. Since they were in a public place and she kinda liked the Sohma's. Since they were nice, and shifters aside from werewolves or the wolf shifters. It was interesting to meet people like them. "Sure. If you don't mind." She said smiling a bit.

Kenshin led Adalina to the food court. "Anything in particular that you like? Burgers and American foods? Italian? Teriyaki? Spanish?" He asked.

Raw meat, normally rabbit but deers a treat. But that wouldn't float well with a human would it? "No. I'm not picky at all." She replied following him.

"Alright..." Kenshin said. He finally settled on seafood.
"So, seafood sounds good, then?" He asked.

"Sounds good." Adalina replied. She was partially thinking of sushi then she wondered why she liked raw food, preferably raw meat, so much. "Do you have any siblings?" She asked curiously. Since her family consisted of her mother and father she didn't know what it was like to have a big family. A bigger, nicer family.

"Yep. The second oldest is one of my sisters. And then there's a set of twins, a boy and a girl. And then my parents adopted one more set of twins-- two girls," Kenshin replied.

"Big family. It's just me in mine." Literally. But that's not what the cops think. At least she hopes that's not what the cops think. She had come to this city to get away from her parents. They were living in a whole other area of Japan. If she could have gotten away with stowing away on that ship she would have. But she doubted she could have.

Kenshin nodded. "Well, I love my sibblings, but sometimes I wish it was just me." He laughed. "Well, all my sibblings are here. Just... they ditched me when I started reading." He laughed.

"Heh, some times I'm glad it's just me." But not for the same reason he wishes it. "I like to read. Most my time is spent at the library." She said smiling.

"Heh, cool," Kenshin said, smiling at her. They were at the seafood booth now, and he was looking up at the menu. Hmmm... Salmon sounded good.
"What're you gonna order, Adalina? I'm getting the salmon. We could get the sushi as a side," he suggested, wondering if she liked sushi.
