The front door opened.
"Hey! Why are you two standin' out in the cold like idiots?" Shade called to the two adults.
"Why don't you come in?" Kira smiled a bit at Hatori.

Hatori smiled slightly (you could hardly tell it was a smile) and nodded. He walked in with Kira, handing the note to Shade in a way that Kira wouldn't notice.

Shade quickly read the note quickly. Her eyes got rather wide. She looked over at Hatori her expression read 'I don't believe you'. She glared darkly at him from behind her mother.
"Do you want any tea?" Kira asked the two of them.

"Alright." Kira said with a slight smile.
Shade crumbled the note in her hand, it was taking all of her will power not to smash Hatori's face into the nearest wall...
"I'm going upstairs." Shade said. She started to go up to her room.
"Shade, we have company, you should stay downstairs." Her mother chided.

"It's okay," Hatori said. "I'm rather busy back at the house, so I guess I should get going," He said. "It was nice to meet you, Kira-san, Shade-san..." He sent Shade an apologetic glance.

Kira nodded and bowed again.
"Take care, Hatori-san." She said.
Shade flipped Hatori off. "Bye." She said to him to make her mother happy. 'B******!' she mouthed to him.

Hatori nodded to them, then after he turned to the door, grimaced. Well, he hadn't erased any of Kira's memories of Tadao. So she wouldn't have forgotten him.

Hatori got into his car and drove back to the main house. He went up to his place, then held his head in his hands. And not just because he had a headache from erasing Kira's memories.

Shade went back downstairs.
"Mom! I'm going out!" Shade shouted. Kira said something in reply. Shade didn't hear it though.
Second ticking away, every minute comes closer...life expectancy dropping...
Shade walked outside, slamming the front door behind her. She set off ina a steady walk to Hatori's house, looking pretty upset...
She burst into his house.
"HOW COULD YOU!?!" She yellled at him, not noticing that he was holding his head in hands. "YOU KILLED HER WHEN YOU DID THAT! You are a sick B*****D!" She hollered angrily at him, small tears forming in her eyes. "I hate you! I HATE YOU!" She said, pounding her fist in his chest. "You killed her!!"

Hatori glanced up. If you looked in his eyes, he looked tortured, they were practically dead. "I'm sorry," he murmered. "I... I can't... I just can't," He shook his head and rubbed his temples. "We saw Kana... and everything just came back. All the memories of her being so hurt, I couldn't protect her."

"Doesn't mean that you had to do that! She's DIEING Hatori! DIEING! I saw it! It keeps dropping lower and lower! D*****!" She shouted the last part mostly to herself.

Dropping. Her life expectancy was dropping. It was dropping? No, she had to be better off without him... He was cold as snow, not good enough for Kira. She was supposed to be better off...
"I'm sorry, Shade," Hatori said, voice sounding hard, trying to hide the fact that he felt like crying.

"No you're not! You're not sorry! If you were sorry you would fix this!" She yelled at him. "This is your fault." She hissed at him. She turned around, not facing Hatori so that he couldn't tell that she was crying. "I hate you." She growled. "I. Hate. You."

"I am sorry, Shade.... Let me think. It's difficult to actually think straight right now," Hatori murmered, continuing to rub his temples. He tended to suddenly see little dots of color in his vision after recently erasing someone's memory, which did make it hard to think, along with the pain of the headache he had right now.

"WELL WHY NOT!?!" She screamed, her fists clenched. "WHY DON'T YOU KNOW!?! YOU'RE SUPPOSED TO KNOW!?!" She said, squeezing her eye shut to make the tears go away.
