A girl was sitting on a bench, wearing a sweatshirt. Her hood was pulled around her face. She looked around nervously, and suddenly her eyes froze. She saw a man. Her father to be exact. In a second, all the terrible beatings came back to her. The broken bones, the brusies... a scared noise escaped her throat, and the man turned, his gaze locking hers. In seconds, Nyroc was running. The man followed suit. Suddenly someone with red hair leaped out and grabbed the girl, liffting her up effortlessly. In only moments, they were far away.
Cory set her on her feet. Nyrocs knees shook, and she was dizzy from the run. Cory looked at her, clenching his fists and not breathing. He couldn't kill her. He would go hunting tonight. For bears.
"Who are you?" Nyrocs voice startled him. SHe gazed at his perfect face, pale skin, and strange eyes, caught somewhere between red and gold. "Cory." the boy replied, and then he was gone.
