Shigure ducked out of the room. Hatori glared at Shigure as he was left alone with Illyria.
Shigure hummed the tune of his 'High School Girls' song as he walked through the garden.
"I figured we should check out the Sohma gardens. You'd love it-- oh, hello."
As he'd talked to Crystal, the person he hated most caught his eye.
Kureno turned at the voice. "O-oh... Hello, Shigure nii-san," he said politely.
There was that angry smile on the dog's face again. "Alone, Kureno?" His voice was perfectly cheerful. "Oh, right. You couldn't tag along with Akito, huh? And she didn't tell you whether you could go with the family, I'm guessing. So you're stuck here."
Kureno chewed on his lip for a moment. "Um, you are right, Shigure nii-san." He disliked the tension aimed at him from Shigure, but knew it was perfectly justified.

Crystal remained silent after murmuring a 'hello' to Kureno. She had met him once, and she knew why Shigure disliked him. She didn't blame Shigure. She blinked, watching him with her big, dark brown eyes.
"Where did Akito go, Kureno?" She asked, her voice showing bitterness when she said Akito's name.

"Akito-san went to America. Oregon coast, I think. With Devon-san and Alice-san," Kureno explained.
Shigure nodded. "Right, right."

"With Devon?" Crystal lifted an eyebrow, but the turned the subject away from Devon. "What if she gets ill?" Not that Crystal cared or anything. She'd be perfectly happy if Shigure's old lover fell off a cliff while she was there.

"I don't know. I'm worried," Kureno said.
"Well, right now she's fine." Shigure could tell. If Akito wasn't fine, his dog spirit would probably be going insane.

"Oh, if something bad were to happen to Akito, the zodiac spirits would go wild. For a bit, depending on how bad it is, we might even sometimes feel what she's feeling," Shigure said simply. "You'd think Kureno would know how she's doing."
Shigure smiled coldly, knowingly, at Kureno, and Kureno looked nervous.

"I see." Crystal said, at first not understanding the look Shigure gave Kureno, but then rememebered something Shigure had told her about Kureno's curse.
