"Well, to be honest, I hardly knew this world--with vampires and shifters and werewolves and others--even existed. Before I became a vampire, and the Cullens moved here, I thought that the only strange things in the world were me and my family..." Hatori kind of trailed off there. He'd nearly spoken about the curse. Then again, if this person was... not normal, or whatever you'd like to call him, it couldn't hurt to have him know...

Hatori sighed. Oh, what the heck. If this Nawat person told anyone, he'd erase the memories.
"My family, the Sohma family, in short, has a curse that causes us to change into zodiac animals when embraced by the opposite sex or becoming physically, emotionally, or mentally weak."

Nawat nodded once.
"Do you know which god?" He asked. Nawat knew the names of many gods, his favorite was Kyprioth, the trickster god and god of the crows.
It's a bit obvious why Nawat liked Kyprioth the best.

"Well, the god doesn't have an actual name, but it usually is referred to as the Jade Emperor," Hatori replied. Or Emperess, he added to himself.
"Or, if you want to get technical, the person who is possessed by the god is named Akito."

Nawat raised a black eyebrow. "Possesed? By a god? Now that's interesting." He said. "It's a shame that I can't do anything to help. Gray Lords wouldn't like that..." He murmured the last part under his breath. He meant that the Gray Lords would probably have him killed before he could do anything.

"It may be interesting, but bearing the core of the curse is killing Akito, which is quite a problem," Hatori replied. "Don't worry about helping. Besides, I don't think that this curse can be broken. Of course, Shigure's theory is that it's weakening, and will break eventually. I don't know if I agree."

Hatori hesitated in telling him, but then recalled that other man's scent. They were both fae. Okay, then. It was safe to tell him.
"My stepdaughter... she was... turned into a werewolf," he said, almost silently, quieter than a whisper.
