Shade sat out on the front porch of Tadao's house, the moon sitting high up in the sky, it's silver beams casting light down on the dark world. She was spending the night with Lee, and he had been crying, so after she had gotten him to calm down, she went outside, since she couldn't sleep.
She pulled her silk robe a little closer around her. She looked up when she heard the bushes around his house rustle. Her blood went cold when she heard a growl.
She saw a pair of yellow eyes glowing from the dark. Goosebumps ran down her arms and the hair on the back of neck stood up. Slowly, what looked like a gaint wolf stepped out of the bushes. He crouched down and growled softly.
Shade turned around and bolted to the door the instant that the wolf lunged at her. She squeaked loudly as the wolf grabbed the end of her silk robe with it's teeth and it ripped. She triped down the porch stairs, hitting her head against the ground.
The wolf pounced on her, sinking it's fangs into her stomach. SHe screamed loudly as it ripped into her instine. The wolf attempted to shake her, to break her neck, but it didn't work out too well.
Shade managed to pull away, her top now ripped and blood soaking up the front of her body. She couched and blood splattered against the ground.
THe wolf tackled her again, and her ribs and arm cracked. She screamed again, but it was cut off short when the wolf flipped her over and tore out her throat.
He continued to shred her with his claws and teeth, Shade was almost dead from blood lost and her major organs being destroyed. As the wolf noow feasted apon her warm flesh, stripping peices of skin from her stomach, the softest part in a human, and lapping up the warm blood.
Shade had closed her eyes, and the wolf became ful and left. Her white and pink inards showed, and blood was pooling around her. Her arm was bent at an odd angle. The sight was gruesome, and would make even the strongest person puke.
But Shade was strong.
And that hadn't been and ordinary wolf.

Tadao came out when the sound had finally woken him up. He was too late to see what had been here, but his legs shook and his eyes grew large as dinner plates when he came out and saw Shade, literally torn apart. He could see her insides. He had the urge to vomit, but held it in. He fell to his knees beside her.
"Shade," he gasped. He thought she was dead-- how could she possibly be alive?-- and tears were welling in his eyes. "Shade?"
Lee was safe inside the house, and Tadao was glad he hadn't brought the child out.

SHade didn't respond, due to her lack of a voice box. She opened her eyes slightly at his voice, but she couldn't keep them open for long. She parted her lips, pale from blood loss. She tried to speak, but found it impossible. No tears were in her eyes, she was in way to much pain to cry. But if she could make a sound, she would be screaming bloody murder.
She touched the gaint rip on her stomach gently, and instantly regretted it. She opened her mouth and let out a silent scream of pain, her eyes were squeezed shut and her back bowed. She thudded her fist against the ground, the onely sound that she had made so far.
She searched out of Tadao's hand, forgetting that it was all bloody. She grasped his hand firmly, in a death grip, actually. She squeezed his hand so tightly that her knuckles were white.
She closed her eyes and looked away from all that blood and guts, her own blood and guts, that was spilling careless out of her body and onto the ground. It was so sick. Disgusting.
A pair of bloody paw prints where leading away from her body and dissapearing into the woods. She look that way, and blinked a few times, her face still looking like it was in pain. She watched the trail that her attacker had made, before turning back to Tadao. She was going to die soon, she knew it. Her body was pale from her body bleeding out, and her major organs wer damaged beyond repair. So silently, she formed these words with her now pale lips.
'I love you.'
A single tear slid down the girls cheek, and her grip on Tadao's hand lossened up.

Tadao watched in terror as Shade suffered. Why couldn't it have been him who had been attacked?! When she took his hand, he also squeezed hers, but more gently. And he held on more tightly when her hand loosened.
"I love you too," he breathed, eyes widened to the point where one may think that the orbs would roll out of their sockets. Despite the fact she was covered in blood, even around her mouth, he kissed her, a wild fantasy in his head trying to convince him it would save her. He, of course, didn't belieave it, but he loved her, so much. He pulled away after a few moments.
"Stay with me, Shade. Stay with me. For me. For Lee. You can't leave," he whispered.

Shade felt Tadao's lips against her own. Her back bowed again and she gasped painfully. This hurt to much! She managed to nod once, the movement was jerked, and it took effort. But she seemed to be saying that she would try, but she was convinced that she wouldn't. She help onto his shirt sleve with her other hand. Her vision was fading, and she was afraid that if he pulled away and she couldn't see him, she wouldn't see him ever again. She felt her heart race up inside of her ches,t pumping even more blood out of her body.
Shade now gripped at his shoulder, trying to pull him closer. His body felt so warm even from the distance he was at. She felt so cold right now... chills traveld down her spine and goosebumps showed up on her arms and legs.

"I won't leave," Tadao whispered, still leaning over her, looking straight into her eyes. "Just keep trying." He gave her hand a squeeze. "I'm sorry that you have to suffer so much..." He ran his fingers through his girlfriend's hair. She'd had such a hard life as it was, why did bad things continue to happen to her? He strongly believed it should have been him who was attacked and blamed himself, a bit irrationally.
"Just stay with me. I will die without you. You have a son that needs you. Fight." He knew she didn't feel she could succeed, and he, too, believed this. He didn't show it, though.

Shade closed her eyes, allowing Tadao to stroke her hair. She was begining to feel tired, her eye lids were heavy, the pain was beging to numb. Her arm slid away slowly from his shoulder and her hand relaxed in his.
Little did she know, that her own body was beging to heal its' self.

Tadao watched her, mortified. He thought she was dead, and was unable to speak, but cling onto her now relaxed hand.
"Shade," he finally managed to croak out. "Are you still with me?"

The girl was silent for a long time. Her body was completely relaxed. Her breathing had actually stop for a moment.
Suddenly, her eyes flew open, and her body shuddered violently. She opened her mouth and screamed, this time, there was sound. Her arm gripped at Tadao, trying to cling onto him as she took greedy gulps of air. She closed her eyes and tilted her head back and screamed again

Tadao's eyes widened, but he was glad she was still alive. He let her scream, using his free hand, running his fingers down an uninjured portion of her arm gently, soothingly. As long as she was alive...

Shade let out another horrifyed scream that sounded a bit like a howl. She still had her head thrown back and her eyes squeezed shut. Her body was now healing a bit more rapidly. She screeched loudly again.
She looked up at Tadao, panting. Sweat drenched her body. But there was something wrong with her eyes.
They were silver.
"You smell good..." She murmured, as if in a daze of some sort.
She screamed once again, her fingernails grew into what looked like claws, andher face streached out into a muzzle. Fur grew on her skin, but the process looked painful. She kept screaming, and then the screaming turned into howling. It was sur eto wake anybody in any houses near by.
After a while, the gruesum process was done, and something midnight black darted out of Tadao's arms.
It snarled, and the moon shone on her, showing a collar of silver fur around her neck.

"Shade...!" Tadao choked out, standing up, and stumbling backward in surprise. "Shade, Shade! It's me, Tadao!"
Tadao heard the wail of Lee from inside. It was thin, but loud, frightened. He was probably crying because he heard the sound.
He wondered what happened to Shade. Why... why was she a wolf?!
"Shade?"

The wolf snarled at Tadao, barring her gleaming ivory teeth. She barked, her silver eyes shimmered in the dull light of the full moon. She let out a low growl and the fur on her neck stood up. Her ear flattened against her head, and she lowered her nose to the ground to sniff the blood still splattered everywhere. She noticed that it was her own blood, and she growled loudly again.
Her ears flicked in the direction of the wailing child. She let out a soft snarl, and licked her jaw. Although she didn't move, her head was still turned in the directio of the house to her right, it had her full attention. Well, atleast most of it. She was still watching Tadao out of the conner of her eye.

Tadao backed up a little more, until he was leaning against the door to his house. Obviously, Shade... wasn't Shade, like this.
"Shade..." he said again, quietly.

The she-wolf's head snapped back towards Tadao. She growled again, her tail now bushing up and hanging down. She snapped her jaws at him, daring him to get closer to her. She snarled loudly.

Tadao gripped the door knob out of fear. Hey, he couldn't help it! He wondered if he should try to go in and lock the door. But Shade would be able to break right through it. Lee's wails were fading as he began to foll asleep a gain.

Shade barked loudly at him like some sort of rabid dog. But she was mych more beautiful then some stray, half-crazed dog. Her black pelt gleamed brightly, the fur was smooth and it shined even in the dull light, THe silver collar of fur around her neck glistened bightly. There was still blood on the bottom of her neck and on her stomach.
She growled and advanced closer to Tadao, her jaws snapping.

The wolf snarled again, then flicked her ears up. She pulled away from Tadao for a moment as she concentrated. She had heard a sound, probably a rabbit. But it appeared that this wolf Shade had turned into had a short attention span. She turned back to Tadao in a hurry, then crouched down. Her whole body was tensed as she was prepared to spring at him.

Tadao was unable to do anything, frozen. He looked away from the wolf, bracing himself for the impact of the wolf to hit him, eyes squeezed shut, not wanting to see.
