Akito was so glad to be back at the Main House. Well, glad wasn't the right word. She more so felt at least... safer, and reassured. Devon wasn't with her right now, but when they'd first gotten home, they'd found Kureno looking worried, waiting in her main room. She wasn't sure whether that had bothered Devon or not, but she'd been pleased that he was so worried about her. She rubbed her wrists. They were still covered in black, blue, purple, and a bit of yellow-ish bruises that she'd gotten trying to pull away from that vampire, Hera. The woman had been Devon's past wife. Some wife. She was as bad as her own mother. Akito rubbed her temples. She had a feverish, and headachy. It was far too hot. She hated it. Devon would have a hard time getting here, she was sure. It was sunny out. Not to mention Hatori was a vampire and couldn't take care of her. Tadao wasn't nearly as good a doctor as Hatori was.
Out of absolute frustration, she slammed the book she was reading shut, and threw it onto the ground. Ugh, no wonder her headache was getting worse. A maid had apparently left her sliding door that led to the garden open. Akito stood up, walked over to it, and slammed it shut. The door, however, bounced back open. She did this repeatedly, until it bounced out of it's slider and fell out. Being made of a kind of paper and wood, it didn't make much of a sound. She sighed irritably and went to the couch and sat down, rubbing her temples, elbows resting on her knees.
A knock on the door sounded. "What?!" Akito spat, irritation, anger, and frustration dripping from the single word.

Devon stuck his head in. "Do you want me to leave... Akito?" He asked the girl. He had allowed Hatori to come with him, he had wanted to see his family. "Hatori is here, I could get him to give you some medicine, if you're sick again." He said, appraoching Akito and placing a cold hand on her forehead. He spoke in a soft voice, so that it didn't hurt her head. He looked over at the broken sliding door, then back at her. "You know, breaking the door won't keep out the heat." He said.

"Don't leave. I didn't know it was you. Thanks for bringing Hatori," Akito murmered, voice quiet now. Then she sighed, annoyed, at the comment about the door.
"I know. I wasn't planning on breaking it. It wouldn't shut."
Hatori walked in after Devon, almost in a wary manner. He walked in a bit, then shut the door.
He couldn't help but smirk a bit. "Ah, Akito, you did it again?" And then, to Devon, he said, "Akito started breaking that door at a pretty young age. Five or six, I think..."
Akito rolled her eyes at Hatori. "Yes, yes. I broke the door. Somebody just fix it."
Hatori walked over to the doorway, picked up the door, and effortlessly put it back in the slider. He moved the door shut.
"So, you're sick." It wasn't a question.
"Yes," Akito replied flatly. "Headache and a fever."
Hatori nodded. "Mm-hm. Has Tadao already given you anything for the fever?"
"An hour ago. He hasn't given me anything for the headache yet."
"Well, you won't need any medicine for your fever. I'll just go get you some advil for the headache," Hatori murmered, walking out. He was holding his breath, just in case.

Devon stayed silent untill Hatori walked out. "Wow. Breaking doors at six..." He said, teasing her playfully.

"Shut up, you," Akito muttered. "I had a temper. I still do. It's not like I really broke the door. It just bounced out of the slider, is all. But the heat. You'd think after twenty years, the maids would know better than to just leave my door open. You know something that's strange? I was born around summer time, but I despise the heat. It's odd."
Hatori came back in, and gave Akito two advil's, not breathing as he put them in her hand. She really did smell good. Agh, he couldn't think about that!
Akito put them into her mouth one at a time, swallowing them without water.

Devon gave Hatori a sympathetic glance, then turned back to Akito. "Maybe you should get some rest." He suggested to her.

Akito shook her head. "I'm not tired."
Well, actually, it had been far too hot last night, and she'd been up pretty late. She'd gotten to sleep around one, and woken up at four. Three hours was all she got. She was, in truth, exhausted, but she didn't want to sleep.
Hatori sighed. "You're stubborn. How late were you up last night, Akito?"
Akito remained silent.
"Akito," Hatori said simply, giving her a stern, chiding look.
"One in the morning," she admitted.
"And when did you wake up?"
"...Four..."
"Akito, you need to get some sleep. You aren't helping your health. No wonder you're sick," Hatori scolded.

Devon sighed. "Akito, Hatori's right. You need to rest." He told her gently.

Akito scowled at Devon, a little pucker forming between her eye brows. "No, Devon. I'm perfectly fine without any sleep--"
She sort of cut off at the end of her sentence, and gasped, eyes wide. She felt so much pain, suddenly, and she knew the reason. Feathers appeared before her eyes, drifting to the ground. Nobody else could see them. It was only her. This happened every time somebody's curse broke. Feathers, since Kureno was the first to have his curse broken.
"Kagura..." Was all she said.
((Kagura's curse broke in another thread. Might as well have Akito feel it. LoL. Poor girl.))

Devon rushed over to her side, his eyes wide. "Kagura... what happened to her?" He asked, looking concerned.

Hatori watched, confused. What was going on? What happened?
Tears were welling in Akito's eyes.
"Her... Her curse. It broke! Kureno, Kohana, Tadao, Myra, Hatori... and now Kagura!"
Hatori was surprised when Akito mentioned Kureno's curse had broken. And Myra? He hadn't heard about that. And he'd had the feeling that Kohana's was broken... Did this really cause Akito pain, aside from the emotional agony?

Devon looked at her, a sad look in his eyes. He pulled Akito into a tight hug. "It's okay Akito... it's okay..." He murmured to her, gently running his hands through his hair, trying to calm her down.

Hatori watched, worried, as Akito's shoulders shook violently. She was burying her face in Devon's neck. He'd seen her cry plenty of times. And he'd seen her cry harder than that, but there was just something about these tears that was different than before. He couldn't exactly explain why, though.
"Is everything going to be alright?" Hatori asked, too quickly and quietly for Akito to hear him.

"I don't know." Devon told Hatori, also too quickly and quietly for Akito to her. He continued to hold her, rocking her gently.

It made sense now, why Kureno always stayed so close to Akito. Hatori suddenly felt a bit guilty, for staying away from the Main House. But it was only until he had control over his thirst... but still.
Akito finally stopped crying. She pulled slightly away from Devon, and rubbed her eyes. "Why does this keep happening?" She murmered under her breath. Hatori heard, but knew that Akito wasn't looking for an answer in them. It was more of a retorical question.

Devon didn't respond. "I'm sorry, Akito." He murmured to her. "I'm so sorry."

Akito sighed. It was a shuddering breath, as if she were fighting more tears. She moved so she was just sitting on the bed, not being held by Devon. "I wonder if she'll leave me like Myra, and Kohana..."

"I don't think she will Akito." Devon said, sitting next to her, trying to reassure her.
