Maliki growled lowering himself. It was obvious he was ready for a fight. But he would rather skip it. If only he could threaten with words. Still, growling was usually effective. He took a step forward still in between Nadia and the vampire. Everything he knew told him to protect her. He had imprinted on her and she was a human that needed protected from a vampire. Which is what the shape-shifter were for.
((Hm... I think I was going to make Maliki, Lila's brother. *shrugs* Can't remember correctly. XD))

The vampire growled again, then sighed, as if not wanting to get in a fight over a meal that wouldn't really last that long anyway.
Nadia blinked, then the vampire was gone. She'd missed him darting off.
"What... w-was that...?" She stammered.

Maliki tilted his head slightly then flicked his tail. He didn't want to leave Nadia alone but it wouldn't take long to turn back and get his clothes on. So he nodded slightly and walked back into the forest for a moment. He returned in human human form fairly quickly, wearing just a t-shirt and jeans.
"That was a vampire... What were you doing out here?" He asked walking over to her.

"I was just walking, playing around. Then I stubbed my toe... and then I tried walking really careful with my eyes closed, and I ran into that... that vampire," Nadia replied quietly. She was shaking a bit, because of the event that had just happened.

Maliki nodded. "Your shaking." He commented putting a hand lightly on her shoulder. "Come on, lets go back to the shelter." He murmured letting his hand fall back to his side. For a moment he wondered if he should tell her about the imprinting. He then decided later after they were back home. Since he really didn't want to talk out here where there could still be a vampire around.

Nadia nodded. "Okay. Thanks for saving me," she said quietly. "That was really scary. He was super strong, and I couldn't get away." She grabbed his hand. "Thanks again."

Maliki smiled slightly. "Any time." He replied turning and half leading her back to the shelter. "But there are a lot of vampires around. You have to be careful." He commented.

"Really? I didn't know there were so many," Nadia said. "Well, actually, I didn't know there were any at all."
After a minute or two, the runaway shelter came into view.

"More then you would think... To many..." He muttered the last part under his breath. "That's why there are sort of shape-shifter's like me. Made to run the vampires off and such." Maliki said simply. He opened the door for her and held it open for her.

"Are all vampires bad?" She asked, in a hushed tone/

"I suppose not. But I haven't had a lot of experiance with them. All the ones I've met have drank... Human blood..." He replied the last bit in more of a mutter because he had stated it without thinking to much. "I think there's a coven around that abstains from eating... The normal way I suppose." He said not wanting to scare her but figuring that it was hard when speaking about vampires.

"So, maybe they're nice..." Nadia said. "I wish I'd run into one of them, instead of that one. But I'm still glad you came and saved me," she said, smiling up at him.
((He could be like 'I have to tell you something' or whatever and take her somewhere private... I'm sure the runaway shelter has a sort of back yard of sorts. XD))

Maliki returned the smile. "Well... There is something I need to tell you." He said looking down a slight mumble to his voice. "Come on." He said turning and going out the back door to stand out there and wait for her.

"Well... I'm not sure how to explain without freaking you out or something..." Maliki replied. "So I'll just try like this. With us shape-shifters there is what we call imprinting. It's like I suppose you could call it love at first site. Literally. It's sorta like we see the person that will be the best match for us." He said stopping for a moment. "I've imprinted recently..." He murmured waiting to see what she would say.
