Rin was sitting outside in the garden. She wore a dark brown shirt and a long black skirt. Haru was next to her.
"How many times do I have to tell you, Haru?! We're done! I'm tired of you!" She lied to him. Why was it so easy? Was it because it was for Haru's own good?
"Rin, I don't think you realize--" Haru was cut off.
"I don't care, Haru! We. Are. Through. Accept it!" She clenched her fists.
Haru sighed and stood up. "Okay," he said, almost distantly. Yes, he'd try again later. He wasn't letting this go. He walked in the house.
Rin sighed, and once Haru was out of sight, she nearly started crying, until she saw bleach blonde hair. She remembered that man. He was at Akito's side almost the entire New Year's banquet. And he'd been glaring at her. Shoot, he was, like, friends with Akito. Her first instinct was to run, but instead she stayed there, sitting, her onyx eyes fixed on Devon.

Devon was outside during that cloudy day. He ran a hand through his platinum blonde hair once.
He looked over at Rin and froze. He had seen hat girl before...

"What do you want?" Rin demanded, crossing her arms. She still had bandages from when Akito had shoved her out the window. Both arms wrapped up a bit in the bandages. But to her horror, when she spoke, her voice broke a bit, showing just how upset she was.

"Fine then," Rin said, looking away from him. "Just thought you would. Since at the banquet you were glaring at me. Did that d**ned Akito make you think I was 'bad' or something?" She snapped, without really thinking.

Devon paused. Akito hadn't told him that part...
He sighed. "I might as well hear your part of the story..." He said.

Rin shrugged. "Akito just doesn't seem to like it that I like Haru. And he got mad at me about it and..." She trailed off. Akito had sworn her to secrecy, and she didn't know whether Devon knew that she'd been shoved out a window or not. "Guess it doesn't matter. Still, I don't know why he's so mad. But, for Haru's safety, I broke up with him, so Akito doesn't have to worry about us anymore," she added ruefully.

Rin's brow furrowed. "Talk to him? What do you mean?" Obviously she hadn't expected Devon to be kind to her.

"You know... talk to him. The action of words coming from your mouth." He smiked a bit. But then he became serious. "I could maybe ask him to show some kindness towards you and Haru." He said.

"Of course not. Nobody knows Akito. Why he does what he does... Sometimes I think he's just cruel. I may be wrong, but that's how it seems. And he seems to dislike me just because I'm a girl, and have long black hair," Rin made a face.

"Guess not, but..." Rin shrugged. "It's difficult to become his friend, or even want to, when he immediately injures you, or speaks to you cruelly."
