Saki sighed as she walked among the trees. Last night she'd had a dream of her childhood. Being forced to eat that disgusting live newt when she was ten or so, being burned with a match when she was in middle school. She couldn't help thinking about it. She was out on a walk, trying to calm herself, clear her mind. Last thing she wanted to do was unthinkingly strike someone with her poisonous denpa. She leaned against a tree and glanced up through the bare branches at the sky.
She felt vampiric waves. She'd managed to learn the difference between those who drank animal blood and those who drank human blood. This one drank animal blood. She vaguely heard the thoughts of the vampire. She couldn't make out what he was thinking, but she could tell by the voice that it was Edward. Hmm, she wondered if he heard her thinking about her childhood.

Edwad appeared beside her.
"Something's bothering you." He said to her.

"Yeah, I guess.." Saki continued to look up at the sky. "A bit... Just memories..." They ran through her mind again. When somebody had burned her arm, someone had started a rumor that she'd been smoking in class. And she tried to burn anybody who tried to stop her. She'd found out about that rumor when doing her new friend Tohru's hair. And then, that memory of the boy she'd nearly killed crept into her mind. She winced, not realizing she'd winced on the outside and not on the inside.

Saki managed to catch the 'stubborn' and 'Bella' in Edward's thought.
"Stubborn as Bella, huh?" Saki laughed. "How is she? She's so much like Tohru-kun."

He laughed as well. "Bella is good. She acciedently hit her head on a wall this morning bending down to pick something up." He chuckled.

Saki chuckled. "Much like Tohru-kun. I believe she's done that a few times. I'm surprised Bell-chan hasn't been sucked into our little group."
Bella came over to them that moment, sort of stumbling.
"Speak of the devil," Saki said, looking over at Bella.
"Hi Edward! Oh, and hi, Saki."
"Call me Hana," Saki suggested.
Bella laughed and shrugged. "Okay then, Hana."

Saki chuckled. "Ah, Bell-chan, you didn't get a concussion, did you?"
"Do you tease Tohru like this, too?"
"Sometimes," Saki laughed.

Edward laughed and pulled Bella into a hug, the kissed her on the cheek.

"You know, it's awfully odd. It's almost like Bella isn't right in front of me. I receive no waves from her at all. I'd bet that if I were to think something and try to make her hear it, she wouldn't hear it (yes, Saki can do that)." Saki said, looking puzzled.
"Edward can't read my mind, either," Bella said with a smirk. "And... what? You can actually /make/ people hear what you're thinking?"
"I've done it on accident, a few times actually. One time Uo and Tohru were talking to me, when I first met them, and I thought 'these people are strange'. And Tohru asked me if I'd said something, though no sound left my mouth."

"Well, I'm kind of glad I don't hear her thoughts. Because before I learned how to control my power, so I didn't have to hear voices all the time, I heard them every second. It made me feel sick, being haunted by voices night and day, from the day I was born."
"Edward hears thoughts all the time, too," Bella said, wondering if Edward had ever felt the same way.
