Another day of school. How wonderful. Yuki was wearing his backpack, and had just entered the school. Honda-san had helped him in, despite the fact that he told her he didn't need her to help him and could have gotten in himself. He resented making her feel bad for him. He scanned the halls, wondering if the Cullens were here yet. He was mostly looking for Ember, though. She'd broken up with him yesterday. That had been heart-breaking.
Yuki continued through the halls. It wasn't long before a small group of worried-looking first-year girls walked up to him.
"Sohma-kun, are you alright?" One asked, sounding alarmed as she looked at his bandaged cheek, then his arm, which was also bandaged, and finally his leg, which was in a cast.
"Yes. I'm fine," Yuki replied in his soft voice.
"What happened?" One questioned.
Yuki gritted his teeth behind his polite smile. It would be unnoticeable to the girls. He hadn't thought that part through.
"Um... I... was in a car wreck?" He lied, ever so smoothly. ((Sarcasm))
Sounded satisfying enough to the girls, apparently, considering they grew wide-eyed. "Oh my gosh! Really? Do you need any help Sohma-kun?"
By now, quite a few other people had come up. At this girl's question, others blurted out several things.
"I'll help you, Yuki!"
"I'll carry your books for you!"
"I'll hold onto your backpack for you!"
"I--"
"Shut up! I'll help you out, Yuki!"
Yuki loked down, cheeks getting colored with a pale pink. "No, thank you. I'll be fine," he said quietly.
The girls didn't seem to hear him though.

Bella walked into the school with the other Cullens and saw the group of girls. No doubt who they were surrounding.
"Holy crow... Poor Yuki," she said as she watched.

Edward appeared next to Bella.
"Yeah..." He agreed. "He is in terrible shape."
Emmett appeared next to Yuki.
"Hey, Yuki, looks like you have your self quite a fw little 'helpers' don't ya?" He smirked, teasing the boy.

"I didn't just mean his bad shape, but the fact that he was surrounded by girls," Bella said to Edward. "Probably makes him uncomfortable."
"Shut up..." Yuki grumbled, looking up at Emmett.
Alice skipped over to the group and somehow managed to pull Yuki out of the crowd without making him bump into anybody or drop his crutches.
"You're welcome," she said to him.
"Umm... thanks..." Yuki mumbled.
"Here, I'll give you help, Yuki. Don't say no, either. Because you really do need help," Alice said.
"No, no, I don't, it's okay."
"Fine. You're so stubborn, Yuki!"
"Is Ember with you?" Yuki asked them.

"Nope." Said Emmett, making a popping noise at the 'p'. "She didn't come with us today."

Yuki's face fell a bit. "Okay. Thanks," he said quietly.
"Why does he look so down?" Bella asked Edward, confused. She didn't know Ember had broken up with him.

"Why?" Bella asked, truly surprised.
Yuki got to his locker and opened it. Then, carefully leaning against the lockers and letting go of his crutches, he took his backpack off, and looked at the books in his locker.
"Now how do I carry my books and use my crutches at the same time...?" Yuki mumbled.

"Ember didn't want to hurt him anymore." Edward explained to Bella, then walked over to Yuki with her.
"I'll help." He offered.

"No, no... You don't need to help me..." Yuki murmered.
Bella sighed and took Yuki's books out of his locker. "Look, you can't carry books and use crutches at the same time. Believe me. I've tried, and it was a disaster," she said. Then she turned to Edward. "I'll take Yuki's books. We have loads of classes together anyway. I'll just follow him around most of the day."
"Thank you," Yuki mumbled to the two.
Edward, maybe you should carry the books. No offense to Bella, but she's kinda clumsy and I don't want her to get hurt carrying my books, Yuki thought, his thoughts directed at Edward.

"Bella... I'll take those." He said to her, taking the books from her.

Yuki was sitting at a table that consisted of Kyo, himself, Honda-san, Hatsuharu, Momiji, and the Cullens.
Minus one. Yuki, sitting next to Haru, was watching Ember as she sat at a table as far away from his as possible. He didn't notice when Kyo snapped at him. He was deep in thought. Then somebody waved their hand in front of his face. Yuki shook his thoughts away.
"What?" He demanded, sharply. Whoops.
"Woah, calm down, Yuki. What's going on? You look upset." Hatsuharu said. His face expressed no emotion, but his voice showed concern.
"I don't want to talk about it right now, Haru," Yuki muttered.
"Does it have something to do with Ember?"
"How'd you know?"
"Well, she's not sitting with us, and you're just staring at her. Did you two get into some sort of fight."
"Ummm... I guess you could say that..." Yuki murmered. Not exactly a fight... more like a beating recieved from her, and then her breaking up because of what she'd done later.
"So, will you two be making up?"
"I don't know... she broke up with me," Yuki replied quietly.
"Oh." Hatsuharu said simply. He patted Yuki on the back for a moment.
"I know how you feel, you know."
"Oh. Right. Rin," Yuki sort of mumbled to himself. "Yeah, this sucks," he added to his friend.
"Does it have anything to do with that car accident?" Hatsuharu asked.
"Wha?" Yuki asked.
"The car crash you go into."
"You... er... heard about that?"
"Entire school has. Word spreads pretty fast around here, apparently."
"Oh."
"Anyway, does her breaking up with you have anything to do with the car accident?"
Yuki thought up a lie quickly. He hated lying, though. Especially to Haru, his best friend.
"Um, I guess you could say that. She was... driving the car, and we got into a crash. She blamed herself for it, and broke up with me, hoping this wouldn't happen to me again if she did. I don't blame her though. It was an accident."
Yuki hoped Ember would hear what hewas saying.
"Breaking up with you for your own good, huh? That's new," Hatsuharu murmered. "So, she cares about you, but she's breaking up with you? That must be agony for you both."
"Yeah..." Yuki said quietly.
"Then again... maybe she just... thinks I'm boring, and is using that as an excuse..." he added to himself under his breath. He'd just realized that maybe that was the reason. He'd always been told he was boring when he was younger. It made sense.

Ember had arrived late at school, she was sitting by herself, not looking at Yuki or his group. Of course, she could hear him speaking to them and too himself.
Did Yuki really think that it was his fault? She wanted to tell him that it wasn't his fault, but she wasn't going to go over there, not right now.

Yuki grabbed his crutches, as if about to get up.
"Woah, Yuki, where are you going? You haven't even touched your food," Hatsuharu said.
"I kinda lost my appetite. I think I'm going to head outside and get some air, alright?" Yuki said, beginning to stand up. He almost fell backwards, and would have, if Hatsuharu hadn't stood up and caugh him by the front of the shirt.
"Be more careful, Yuki," Haru said with a laugh.
"Yeah. Still not really used to these crutches," Yuki replied, giving Haru a little half-smile. He left the table, heading for the door. He deliberately took the way that led him past Ember's table, so he could at least get closer to her for a moment. He didn't say anything though. Just glanced at her, then went out the door. He leaned against the wall outside. It had seemed a little bit suffocating in the cafeteria, with all those people.
Hatsuharu, got up, and walked over to Ember's table, dumping Yuki's lunch on the way because Yuki hadn't done it himself. He took a seat across from her.
"Hey," he said monotonously to her, taking a bite of pizza.

Ember blinked, then smiled slightly at Hatsuharu.
"Hello." She said to him. She looked down at her food, she hadn't touched it, but she didn't quite feel like regurgitating(sp?) pizza later.

Hatsuharu nodded at her. "So, seems you got out of that car accident in perfect shape. You know, Yuki's never been the best liar. He always sounds nervous when he tries to tell a lie. To me, at least. I won't ask what really happened, but I did want to ask you something else. Are you sure that this is best for Yuki?"

Ember nodded. "I'm not the best person in the world. Sometimes I... lose control." She tried to explain with out giving away anything inportant.
