-~Sequel to Gomen Nasai~-
I had been staying at the Cullen House for a while. I didn't want to leave her. I didn't want to leave Crystal.
I woke up early that morning. I yawned and streched, then went down to the kitchen to see if the Cullen's had remembered to buy food.
They did.
While I was eating, I heard a movement behind.
I turned around to see Ember. The red headed vampire walked over to me.
"You're up early." She commented.
I laughed. "I guess so!" I said cheerfully.
She nodded once. "The others went out hunting. It's just Emmett and I here." She said. I nodded, wondering were she was going with this. I ate a bit more and waited for her to say something.
"It will take a while for her to restrain herself, Shigure. She's dangerous right now." Ember said. I looked over at her. I knew who she was talking about, Crystal.
My Crys.
Who is now, a vampire.
I remembered when Rosalie told me what I did was selfish, and that I had just ruined Crystal's life.
Ember sighed, then pulled up a chair and sat down next to me. "She's going to be different. After we change, we are never the same." Ember warned me, then she left.
"Where you going?" I asked her, she loked over her shoulder. "I'm going to see Yuki. Emmett's still here." She said, then walked out the door.
I finsihed eating, then I decided to go and see Crystal. I felt guilty for what I had done to her.
I opened the door to her room, and I saw her gazing out of the window.
He skin, though still tanned, was alot light then before. It was more of a dark olive skin tone then the bronze that she had before she changed.
"Hey, Crys." I said cheerfully, walking in and shutting the door behind me.
She looked over at me and smiled. Her mahogany eyes lit up when she saw me.
Her eyes, I don't think that I would be able to ever get used to them.
I gaved her a hug, and she hugged back. I ran my hand through he dark curls as she buried her head into my shirt. Her whole body was cold, and hard. Something else that I'd probably never get used to.
"What's up?" She asked me, pulling away from the hug.
"Nothing...I just came to see how you were doing." I said with a grin. She didn't look as upset as before, but I could tell that she still mourned over our lost baby.
I pulled her into another tight hug and I ran my hand through her thick, obsidian hair.
She sighed. "I'm starting to feel better...I think I have my thirst under control now. Well, under better control." She laughed. I chuckled a bit. "Carlisle says it gets easier, but the thirst never goes away." She said. I listened to her. Her voice was smooth, beautiful.
Well, of course, I had always seen Crystal as beautiful. To tell you the truth, when I first met her, infront of my house, I was amazed and dazled. She looked like the kind of girl with a natural beauty. Like she had just grown out of the grown like a tree and had always just been there. It's hard to explain.
"Hey! You want to go outside today? For a walk? I've been cooped up inside this room for a while, and the air smells musty to me. It'll be good to get some fresh air." She smiled at me, her red eyes bright. I laughed. The air smelled no different to me, but hey, I didn't have a super senstive nose.
"Sure, but we should ask Emmett first." I said. She nodded, and I grabbed her cold, hard hand and walked down the stairs with her. There, Emmett, looking rather bored, turned to us.
"Yeah, sure, go out if you like. I don't care." He shrugged. I was surprised that he had been able to hear us all the way upstairs. Crystal laughed at my expression. The sound of a stream playfully trickling arcoss rocks.
She now lead me out to the garage.
She grinned. "Now...let's see, which beautiful car am I going to use..." She looked at them, picking out which one she wanted to drive. I grinned at her.
"I think I'll take Carlisle." She said, grabbing the keys and tossing them to me. I caught them with a laugh. She jumped into the passenger side and I slide into the drivers side.
We drove to town, like she wanted. We pulled infront of a store, then we got outside and walked around. We held hands, like any ordinary couple, and for a moment, things went back to the way they were supossed to be. Or at least, they felt like.
She watched a man walk down the sidewalk. She paused, and seemed to be struggling against something. She gripped my hand tighter and tighter, untill I had lost circulation in my fingers.
"Crys...Crys!" I said, pulling her towards me. "Crystal...you're hurting my hand." Her eyes were wide as she watched the man.
"Crystal!" I was scared, to tell you the truth. What if she was losing control?
"I...need to go back to the car." She said, her teeth grinding together.
I nodded and half-led, half-dragged her to the car. Once insid,e she let out her breath, then exhailed and inhaled deeply. She sighed and had a wild grin on her face.
"Wow...he smelled....wonderful." She sighed, a soft smile on her face.
I watched her uncertainly. What was that supossed to mean?
We drove back to the house, listening as Crystal talked, everyonce in a while, throwing in something about the guy that she had seen.
Once to the Cullen house she smiled at me. "Sorry about freaking out on you back there but he just smelled-"
I cut her off, knowing what she was going to say. "Yeah. Smelled good." I said, a bit irratated.
She looked at me with a confused expression. "You're mad at me?" She asked, looking up at me.
My gray eyes met her red ones. The ones that used to be brown.
I sighed. "No...I just, surprised." I explained. She nodded understanding. That's what I love about Crystal, she always understands me.
We go back inside and I tell her that I'm tired. She nods and I go upstairs to sleep. I don't dream about anything, other then Crystal and they day I held her dying in my arms.
I always dream about that. It's like a broken record. constantly playing in my head. Over and over again. I remembered every detail. When the vampire and the two werewolves crashed into my house. When a piece of wood puntured her neck and she ripped it out in her fright. Holding her head in my lap, stroking her hair, crying. Hatori telling me that he couldn't save her.
Her telling me that she was sorry....
This wasn't her fault. Not her fault at all..
I woke up later, and I heard voices in the hall.
"Carlisle?" It's Crystal.
"Yes, Crystal?" Carlisle responded.
"I freaked out today."
"Yes...Alice and Edward told me." Carlisle said.
"But...this was different. I thought that sence I iprinted on Shigure, that I would be drawn to his blood..." Crystal seemed a bit confused by the tone of her voice.
"Ah, I see. But, Crystal, you're a whole new creature now. Vampire do not imprint. Instead, we have blood singers. There can be multiple, or only one. A blood singer is the one human that you are attracked to most. It seems that man out there, was your blood singer." He said.
I sigh softly and roll over on my bed, looking at the ceiling.
Crystal...did she love me any more?
I drifted back to sleep. It was dreamless, to my pleasure.
When I woke up, it was almost dark out. I got out of bed, knwoing Crystal would still be awake.
"Hey, beautiful." I smirked as she looked over her shoulder at me. She smirked too.
"Hey, Handsome." She said to me. I grinned widely and kissed her. She smile dunderneath my lips and kissed me back.
She pulled away.
"Hey, let's go on another walk." She suggested.
"Are you sure that's safe after last time?" I asked her, a bit concerned.
"Yeah! I'll be fine, we won't go anywhere near there, I promise." She said.
She we went outside and walked in the cool air.
She stopped infront of a house, her eyes filled with excitement.
"Uh, Crys...what are we doing?" I asked her as I followed her up the drive of the house.
"He lives here...." She said.
"Crystal, we should go back..." I said, following her.
But she continued, she opened the door to his house, but I still continued to follow her.
He was sitting on a couch, reading something.
"Crystal! No!" I cried out, rushing after her, but it was too late. I watched her as she tore into the man, who let out a scream. She becan to drink his blood, the hot, red, liquid pouring down her chin, dripping onto her shirt and the floor. SHe was breathing heavily, like she was trying to take in all the scent she could. The man dropped to the floor, his eyes clouded, but still open. I gasped. She had killed him.
She looked at the man, then looked at her hands which were now soaked in blood. She let out a wail and fell to the floor.
I scrambled over to her and put my arms around her.
"What have I done!?" She wailed out, burying her bloody head into my kimono.
"Sshh, sshh, it's fine, Crys...it'll all be fine." I said softly, stroking her hair.
A soft growl escaped her throat. I looked down at her. She looked up at me. She attacked me, sending me to the ground, I gasped and she sunk her teeth into her neck. The pain...it was horrifying. Terrible.
But I smiled anyway.
I'd be a vampire with her.
I wrapped my arms around her weakly as she continued to drink my blood, sucking away at my humanity...
Now I could be with her forever.
