The room was filled with chatter that seemed to fade into the background, creating an irritating ringing sound in Toji’s ears as he ignored the rude customer in front of him who decided they wanted to rant about how horrible their day was to him. Interrupting them when they finally took a breath, Toji said flatly, ”I really don’t care how f***ing horrible your day was. Make an order, take it, pay me and leave.” By the time he finished, his voice was almost a snarl. The chick made a puffing sound, turned on her heel, and walked out.
”Good,” he sighed. ”Last thing I need is to deal with somebody like that.” Ugh, he wanted to go home. No, correction. He wanted to be anywhere but here or home. ‘Home’ was not even a suitable word for the place in which he lived. He lived with his aunt and uncle. His uncle abused his aunt, and probably did drugs, though Toji couldn’t be sure. His parents thought he was a monster, which was why he didn’t live with them. They didn’t want him. They had told him they would have sooner killed themselves than been his parents.
Sighing, Toji waited for another customer. Despite all the chatter, today was relatively slow. He soon saw a girl approach. She stood in front of the counter, staring at the menu.
”Hurry up and order, will you?” Toji snapped.

Suki bilnked in disbelief that this boy just shot that retort at her. Well, he really wasn't a boy, he looked her age...if that. She gazed at menu for a little while longer, waiting for the boy to yell at her again. "I'll have a Chai Latte, please." She said quietly. She was seriously too over shy. And, partly because she didn't want the boy to yell at her again.
Suki paid the cashier and told him to keep the change. She walked over to one of the big, comfy armchairs to sit down. She picked up her latest novel she was reading, The season was telling about this seventeen year old girl was trying to catch her best friend's fathers murderer and try to avoid all concepts of love during the English season. She found the english lifestyle back then quite fascinating.
She looked at the book and instinctively picked it up and started to read immediately. The world dissolving around her, taking place of the book's comforting atmosphere.

Toji nodded, still irritated, and vaguely wondered why nobody had tried firing him yet. Oh well, it's not as if he wanted to be fired, anyway. Making the latte for her, he ignored some customers who were waiting for him to take their order. Carrying the steaming cup over to her, at the last minute he spilled a little. It really was on accident--he hadn't meant to do it. The hot liquid splashed onto Suki's arm, and a page of the book.
Though he hadn't meant to, and might even be sorry, all he said was a flat, "Oops," as if he didn't care as he handed her the drink.
[Like I said. EPIC!FAIL.]

"Oh it's not a huge problem,"She said shaking her hands out in front of her. She picked up some napkins and wiped off her arm and book. "Thanks for my coffee." She said said quietly offering him a half-smile. She sipped her coffee and resumed her reading.

Suki walked down the narrow pathway in the park. Attempting to try not to trip over kids and moms running after their kids. She laughed to herself. She walked over to the swings, she’d been here multiple times before, in her childhood… that counted right? Oh well. She walked over to one and sat down. She kicked off her flip-flops and squished her toes in the warm sand. She looked up because of the shadow blocking the sun from her already warm brown hair.
