Silky hair was nice. Running her fingers through it, having it pushed to the side. Though it was a rather nervous action, she wasn't too nervous. Too much that was. Flicking her eyes around she wondered why she was here. There was no reason to be at this park. Really no reason to be anywhere. The ferret-shifter had trouble getting work, not having a chance to go to school at a young age she was now out on the streets attempting to find a home. Things were even harder now then when her mother was alive. At least then she was able to keep an apartment, maybe it was just because she actually had a better reason to. For her mother, now that it was just for her it didn't seem important.
Looking down she noticed some flowers growing on a nearby bush. Staring at them she swallowed. Wasn't it cruel that something like a flower, a tree, or bush, could come back from being crushed, picked, or burned? While a human or other creatures could only rot into the ground? Becoming fuel for these ones to grow back. She wanted to be a tree. It would be so simple. Gather light, lose your leaves, grow them back, if you're cut down, grow back. Easy enough? Now that she thought about it she thought maybe a bit harder, but still easier then living out on the streets striving to survive. This brought her to the flowers, and grass. The plants that attempt to grow back through the cracks in the sidewalk. Even after being covered in concrete they still are able to grow back, as the sidewalk crumbles, they thrive!
Before she really knew it she realized her eyes were filled with tears. Brushing at her eyes she scowled and walked closer to the foliage. She ran her fingers along the flower petals and leaves of the bushed. Swallowing hard again. Carefully and swiftly she took a flower from the bush, bringing it up so that she could smell it's sweet aroma. She turned and walked forward once again. Looking for a bench or something. She just wanted to sit down for a while. No, no, she really wanted some comfort. There wasn't much for her. She couldn't even wear what she had before, the soft cotton dresses or even long skirts, for it didn't work so well out here. In truth she wore the sensible things she could find. Mostly jeans, t-shirts, boots or tennis shoes, whatever was available. Most of which obtained from places that have free clothing for homeless.
Right now it was just a baggy t-shirt that clung to her small frame, jeans that she had managed to find a belt to go with, along with some, yes, some new tennis shoes. That had been a rather lucky find. Happily they had allowed her to take them.
Now despite her situation, actually, because of it, she not only ate at the soup kitchen, but she was frequently there cleaning, and serving. When she could. Most of the time she was doing some things for small change, which included cleaning for people in there homes, some lawn care, working with some mothers or fathers at watching their children, whatever someone would trust her to do. Though now that she had worked for some families they found her trustworthy so they would let her do more things and pay her more. At this thought she noticed a bench along the sidewalk and took a seat. Twirling the flower around between her thumb and pointer finger. Looking up at the sky through some leaves of a few trees. The blue making a rather pretty combination with the green leaves and leaf buds. Shaking her head she flicked her eyes back off to the side. ((Thread! Give me good post whoever does post?))

He hated the cold. He hated the fact that thanks to his brother, they had been forced to move to this little town who knows where in the dead of night to escape whatever the humans could throw at them. He hated his family, or at least, what had become of it after the attack made by that d@mned moon mad werewolf, changing them all into something that they should have never been. Oh sure, he put on a good face, seemed to be fairy popular, but inside, he was as dark and hateful as his brother, maybe that was why they fought so often, both trying to be alpha since Dad couldn’t do anything anymore, and Mom had turned into something that was easier just not to think about. Storm was the only one who hadn’t changed, and even now, after what had happened, she had turned more aggressive. Everything he had once held so close was falling to shambles, and there was nothing he could do about it. He felt so helpless, as though he was nothing more than a mere infant, squalling about and messing himself in the process. And they said things would get better; hah, this was better alright!
Slowly, Gabriel closed his sharp golden eyes; crouched in the shadows of the forest that bordered the park, he had only come here to watch everything, to remember what it had once been like to be…normal. If there was even such a word; he hadn’t thought far enough ahead to understand exactly how much doing so would hurt him. Such an idiotic person he was, he never thought far enough into the future to understand how he could have avoided such pain. Why must he be so stupid? Resisting the urge to go up and bang his head against the pine tree, which probably would have hurt the tree more than anything else, the wolf sighed softly, his golden gaze narrowed. If he closed his eyes, he could operate on scent alone, but where was the fun in that? Just leaning against the tree, he could tell the ground was still frozen though thawing; the sharp smell of flowers was tainting the air, and patches of earth mingled with the ice smell of snow. There were two people muttering to themselves on the bench, he could hear every word passed between them, and had to resist a shudder. Young love was always the nastiest.
And then, there was the scent of something he wasn’t so sure about. Lifting his face from the tree, Gabriel’s head cocked to the side slightly, without noticing it he brushed his auburn hair from his eyes, intent on what he had scented. It was an odd smell, slightly musky, but at the same time, human in origin. Maybe a…shifter? He couldn’t tell what animal she was though; it was a scent that he had yet to come across on his various trips away from his ‘home.’ Having never been an antisocial type, the teenager mulled over the thought of visiting the girl; he could find her fairly easily if he focused. Coming out of the forest though, he didn’t want to seem like a creeper, there was something very wrong with those people. But this was too fascinating to simply let the opportunity pass up; Storm had found a Vampire and interacted, and she was the pacifist of the family. He should be able to interact with a…shifter he thought they were called, just fine! He could do this! It didn’t explain the nervousness in his stomach though at the simple thought of revealing himself to someone of the supernatural; he had been around mere humans for too long, lulled by their predictability.
No. He would not be weak. He would do this, he could do this! Taking a deep breath, Gabriel wandered out from the forest, running a hand through his hair and dislodging anything that might have once been trapped in there. Fixing his shirt, Gabriel trod on ice, making sure the girl knew that he was coming; it would not be wise to startle her. Stopping a few feet away from the shifter, he still couldn’t figure out what she shifted into, Gabriel offered a faint smile. ”Hello.” He said softly, dipping his head in greeting. There was wariness in his manner, and his unease was obvious, as well as the fact this was the first shifter he had come across. Gold eyes meeting the eyes of the girl, Gabriel tilted his head slightly, curiosity flashing in his gaze for a brief moment. ”I’m Gabriel Wolfe, new resident.” He said with another small smile. ”May I ask who you are?” Tone light, conversational even, Gabriel watched the shifter in a calm manner, his expression simply curious, almost innocent.
Innocence, hah. That was an amusing thought.
[Hope this works for you. =)]

Naturally, as he had meant to do, she had heard him approaching though not acknowledge him. No need to acknowledge another person walking along. Right then? Well, till he stopped and offered her a greeting. Being polite she returned the slight smile and nodded. She immediately picked up on his uneasiness, and how he was wary. In turn she relaxed even more so. It was an odd thing, if someone comes up to you acting nervous you should probably be just as wary. There could be danger or something more to it. Her on the other hand, chose to relax herself and figure that things would turn out for the best. Or worst. Either way, she would go with the flow. Besides, maybe her being calm would help the other relax as well.
As she realized he was wary and rather nervous, she caught the fact that he was not human. Though she did not know exactly what he was. A werewolf perhaps? Though she'd never actually met one this seemed like a proper way to think. She met his gold eyes with her reddish brown ones. "Hello," she gave him the reply back. Then decided she didn't like the sitting position she had while he was standing. So she rose and gave the slightest bow. "Itachi Kiyomi, been around here a while." She replied, traditionally her last name before her first.
"So no problem in asking." She stated nodding slightly. A glance around she wonder slightly if he was simply curious of her 'race' was that the right thing to say? "Ferret, if you're curious. That's probably what you smell. Tell me, if I may ask, am I possibly thinking right with wolf then?" She asked, hers eyes showing curiosity. The girl was not a guarded person, most of the time her words were confusing to most. That went along with her her emotions could be the better of the people she was around. In her attempts to calm them even if it didn't come to be the better for her. It was more foolish then friendly or nice. Tilting her head slightly her innocence showed as well as his more false or near innocence. In most ways she was innocent. ((Eh, not as good as yours. Eheheh... xP))
