A new day. A better day. Kiyomi walked along the sidewalk; repeating Itailian phrases under her breath. If she could learn the language well enough maybe she could get into a good school. A scholarship. Yes... That would be wonderful! If only her mother could just get better. The girl sighed. Things weren't going so great. She felt bad for leaving her mother now but she needed to get out of the house. And her mother was sleeping. So it should be okay. Please be a good day. The white haired girl pushed her hair off her shoulder and glanced around. This was new... A flower. She knelt down beside it and smiled. It was beautiful. Touching a pale pink petal she smiled lightly. She liked flowers. They were pretty. And symbolized life and death in such simple cycles. This was a new one. She hadn't noticed it on her last walk. "Per cortesìa novizio fiore." She spoke softly and leaned just a little closer. The girl would have liked to pick it. But it would be better off here. Since it would die once picked. Though she wanted to show her mother a flower. Her mother liked it when she brought flowers home. Smiling lightly again she stood back up and stretched her arms above her head then pulled them back and bowed her head. What's that scent...? She looked back down the way and spotted where it came from. A vampire. Another? Wow. So many around. The girl wasn't bothered though. So long as it didn't attack her she was fine. I want a church. To know the prayers and such. I know things about some religions. Maybe the god could help mother. She thought then turned to look back at the flower. So beautiful... Let this day be a good one. ((Akito maybe? XD I kinda want to play Akito meeting Kiyomi... What with they're oppisote relationships with their mothers. XD))

Akito had picked up a stranged scent. Fowl-smelling, but different from shifter wolves... maybe this was another shifter of some sort? That would be interesting. She'd just been walking out here. It was nice to leave the house just because, as opposed to leaving to run errands and such. She approached the white-haired girl after following that scent. She seemed to be looking at a flower. She stopped where she was, trying to figure out what it was. She was sure they were in her garden. Not a rose... possibly a camellia... She continued to walk toward the girl. She knelt down in front of her, staring at the flower as well now.
"Hello," she murmured to Kiyomi quietly. Even quieter, she murmured under her breath, "Tsubaki..."
Yes, definitely a camellia. She could tell now. It wasn't red, but not all were. Those were simply her favorite. "I like those types of flowers," she commented, nodding at the pink camellia.

Kiyomi glanced over at Akito very nonchalantly. She nodded slightly. The girl didn't know the Italian word for camellia's. "Fiore." She said smiling slightly. "I like them all though. Flowers." The girl said. She leaned her head down slightly; her hair falling back around her pale face. Her hair and eyes matched an albino. But it was as though her skin just didn't quite want to go along with it.
"Vampiro." She said quietly. "There are a lot around. I met another at the cemetery." The girl spoke softly. Then smiled slightly for no real reason. "But you drink the blood of animals. I do so hope not ferrets." She said none nonchalantly. Sangue is blood. The girl thought softly.

Akito nodded slowly while the girl spoke.
"Of course I don't," she replied, a light smile on her face. "Besides, you shifters smell bad to vampires." She was saying it in an almost teasing way, a friendly way. She wasn't being mean. She slowly reached out to finger the beautiful flower.
"Mind if I hold it?"

"Mm... It's not my flower. But if it's picked it will die." Kiyomi replied. She stood up fully still looking down at the flower. "Though it's getting cooler. It picked a sad time to bloom." She stated. Looking away she was lost in thought. It would be a while before she had to return. An hour or so.

Akito nodded. "I have a large garden back at the Main House," she said quietly. She sort of trailed off, staying quiet. She shook her bangs out of her face, but they only fell back into place and she sighed out of aggravation. "It really did pick a bad time to bloom," she agreed.
"Mm, what are you doing all alone out here? Don't kids your age usually spend time with friends when they go out?"

"We don't really have a garden. Just a few flowers here or there in the backyard. Madre used to like to plant flowers and take care of them." Kiyomi said wistfully. She absentmindedly smoothed a crease in her pale blue shirt that brushed several inches over her jeans. She like flowing clothes. They were soft. Light colors were nice as well. Oddly enough they didn't look bad with her pale skin either.
She shrugged as she was asked the question. "I don't really have any. And most of the time I'm with madre anyway." The girl said in her soft tone. Glancing back at Akito she wondered if this vampire had a mother still; or if her mother had passed long ago.
Madre... She probably doesn't know what it means. It's so different from the Japanese word. But she didn't bother explaining at the moment. The vampire would probably catch on.
((Hahaoya or Reidou is Mother in Japanese. XD))

Akito frowned, almost in confusion.
"I'm sorry, what? Madre?" She really didn't know what that meant. She wasn't very educated in any languages aside from Japanese and English. "That's in a different language, right? What does it mean...?"

"Sorry; I always call her madre. It means mother, mom." Kiyomi replied giving a slight smile. The girl looked down and drew her foot across the ground.
((I drew a blank. xP))

Akito nodded slowly.
"You're close to your mother, then?" she guessed.
((Bleh))

Kiyomi shrugged. "Yeah. Dad was never around; so I didn't really know him." She said.
((Likewise. xP))

Akito nodded slowly. "My father died when I was little," she said. "My mother and I... we... are not close. It must be very nice to have a good relationship with your mother," she said.

"Not really. Because when she dies I'll still be here but she'll be gone and it will be sad. I wasn't sad without dad because I never knew him. Death may be part of life; but it's hard to go through." Kiyomi replied sounding oddly off with her tone for the topic. "I suppose it's nice though. Since I'm not alone. Or abused. Which could have been what happened to me." The girl was looking at the ground as though interested in it. But she wasn't the most... Sane person; so she probably found the ground quite interesting at the moment.
"What's so important about the cracks in the sidewalk? That made someone think up 'step on a crack and you'll break your mothers back'? Seems quite silly." She said tilting her head slightly as she continued looking at the ground.
((She's an odd kid. XD))

Akito nodded slowly at the first few things she said.
"Death is very hard to deal with," she agreed. "And... abuse... it's definitely terrible, and it's good that only a few people have to go through it." She spoke as if she'd been abused herself. Well, she had. But she'd really rather not delve deep into her childhood and end up telling her life story.
She blinked quickly a few times at the sudden, and exceptionally strange change in subject. "Wh-what...?"
To be honest, she'd never heard the saying, even though she was a good twenty-four years old. What the girl had said really took her be surprise.

Kiyomi looked over at Akito and blinked in an childish way. She smiled at Akito's expression; how she had taken the subject change and such. It was funny to her. "It's a superstitious saying. Not true though; well... As far as I know it's not. I've stepped on lots of cracks and mom's back hasn't broke." The girl said tilting her head left then right.
"I'm sorry to hear that." She added thoughtfully. It wasn't hard to detect the fact that Akito must have been abused herself. Then she also added it for earlier.

Akito simply shook her head dismissively at Kiyomi saying she was sorry.
"That's a very strange saying. I wish it were true... for when I stepped on a crack, at least." She paused. "No, I shouldn't say stuff like that..." She shook her head.

"Heheh... But then those of us with good parents would have to be very careful..." Kiyomi said before leaning forward slightly. She looked back at Akito. "But if you think about it; you'll most definitely outlive your mother. Unless you anger some other vampires..." She said before looking back down at the ground.
