An Odd Couple *LW*

Palla shook her head. "Only for Christmas, birthdays, and anniverseries. Not houses." she said. "I'm a werewolf, I can handle a little lightning and rain." she said, lying a little. "If it gets awful, I can always go to Sam or Billy's house."

"Yeah, but I can get it fixed without it hurting me in any way. It's just money." Shani said shrugging. Money was no issue for him. You spend it, you earn it.
"Why not accept help?" He asked looking over at her.

"I don't like people wasting their money on me. Besides, I'm a werewolf, I should be tougher than that." Palla argued. But the real reason was, of course, her pride. She had spent the past few years taking care of herself, and if someone else helped her, she wouldn't have anything of hers left. It didn't make much sense, but she still stood by it.

"Yeah, but I'm not people and it's hardly 'wasting'." Shani replied looking at her now. "Or is it some pride thing?" He asked smirking. The Fae had his own pride, but it wasn't a huge thing for him.

Palla didn't reply, but that was all the answer he needed. "Just leave it, okay?" she said quietly. "I'll do anything but let you spend money on me." she allowed. For a long minute, her eyes left his, but they slowly drifted back. She was smiling, just a small one, but it was a smile.

Shani shrugged. "Okay... But I still don't think you should have to stay in an inadequate place." The Fae stated; tilting his head slightly. "Hm... You're quite pretty." He said.

"Leave my house alone." she growled menacingly. Then she frowned, feeling offended. "Quite? Not very, or incredibly." she crossed her arms. "Meanie." she said, turning her back ot him pointedly.

"Okay. I'll leave it be." The Fae said before smirking and kissing her on the cheek from behind. "How about more beautiful then Aphrodite herself?" Shani asked pulling his head back to stand behind her as he was.

"I guess I'll that would be acceptable . . ." Palla laughed lightly, twirling her dark hair around her fingers absentmindedly. She started to hum to herself, not able to think of anything more to say on the matter.

Shani smirked and walked over to walk beside her. He glanced back at her now and tilted his head slightly. "Guess? But Aphrodite is the Greek goddess of beauty. So she would be considered the most beautiful to many. Of course, not as beautiful as you." He stated smiling lightly now.

Palla smiled. "Thats better." she murmered, twining her fingers with his and kissing him lightly on the lipe. She pulled away, almost reluctantly, and then watched a flock of birds fly overhead, calling loudly and singing to each other.

Shani smiled. "I love you." He stated leaning back down and kissing her again on the lips. Lingering there for a moment before pulling away. It was quite odd that he as a Fae had fallen in love with a changeling. Couldn't be unheard of though.

Palla was quiet for a moment. "I love you, too." she replied breathlessly. She was frozen for a moment, unmoving. After a moment, her senses came back. "I . . ." Apparantly not. Her eyes searched his face for a moment, and then she sat down on a bench. "Walking is boring." she said thoughtlessly.

Shani nodded slightly. "Okay. Then we'll sit." He said laughing a bit before sitting beside her.

Suddenly Palla stiffened. Her spine slumped and she let her hair fall to cover her face. Shani was forgotten for the time being. A group of four touch-looking guys and their girlfriends were passing by, talking and laughing loudly. "Oooh look! It's that weird emo girl!" one of the blondes squealed. The boy beside her laughed. "Whats wrong, emo? Did mommy take your knives away?" he crooned, andthe group snickered with him. Palla was quivering with anger as the boy grabbed her wrist and yanked her upright. "Let me go." Palla said weakly, but the boy just twisted her arms behind her. "Oh, shut up. I have a little surprise for you. I was saving it until school started, but since you're here, I can give it to you now." he smiled menacingly. "Keep her still." he ordered one of his friends. Another pair of rough hands held her hands behind her back. Before Palla knew what happened, a fist collided with her face. She felt her nose crack, and as another blow struck her ribcage, she leaned over forwards and crumbled to the ground. But the large boy shoved her back up again, and with one last kick, they released her. Palla lay still, crumpled on the ground. She held a hand over her bleeding nose, but it didn't help. She was shaking, out of pure rage and fear. She closed her eyes, a few tears escaping down her cheeks.

Shani jumped up. "Hey! Get away from her." He snapped shoving the one that had beat her away. The Fae glared slightly. Thinking of an illusion to freak them out. Then, simply decided to use the fact that Fae were stronger then humans and punched the guy hearing a satisfying crack as his fist collided with the others nose. "So. Ganging up on people and beating them what you do for fun?" He asked in a low hiss.
Looking back at the other three he vaguely wondered if he could get away with only hitting the guys. He wasn't sexist he just agreed with not hitting girls.
"Come on cowards. Can't take prey that fights back?" He asked; glaring.

The group of girls screamed and ran away as Shani advanced. One of the guys went after them, looking pretty frightened. That left three of them. The one Shani had hit sank to the ground, and the next two advanced on Shani. "You have a lot of nerve, kid." the one said. He shoved Palla aside with a kick, and swung a huge, meaty fist at the smaller man.

Shani dodged the fist easily. Slow humans. He slipped around and kicked the guy in the back of the knees. "Your still a coward. I bet you wouldn't take Palla alone." He replied with a smirk. The Fae glanced at the other one. "Well?" He asked raising an eyebrow. He had a slight worry for Palla at the moment. But he would worry plenty once the idiots that hurt her were gone.

The large man fell on top of his cronie, and the third ran for it. The other two pulled themselves up from the grass and limped away, yelling curses at Shani as they left.

Palla remained silent, blood flowing endlessly out of her now-crooked nose.

Shani turned back to Palla kneeling down beside her. She was bleeding a lot. He glanced around and cursed. "Palla? Palla? They're gone." The Fae was wary as he pulled the changling up putting an arm around her should to keep her up.
"Hold your nose and tilt your head back. It'll stop. Then you need to get to a hospital." He instructed looking intently at her.
