Skinny, smooth fingers reached up and brushed a few stray strands of black hair out of emerald eyes. The young woman ran her small hand over her skin, pale and flawless. She blinked, her long eyelashes throwing shadows across her face. Her thin lips were frozen in a pleasent smile, not showing the feelings inside. As the pair of wonderous eyes traveled down her body, they became colder and harder. And when her gaze reached the small bulge in her stomach, she threw the object in her free hand at the mirror.
The glass shattered instantly, the sound of breaking glass echoing through the small room. The small, skinny girl braced her hands against a flimsy bedside table, her breath coming in enraged gasps. The strands she had so delicatly pushed away fell over her face, but not hiding the tears that slid silently down her cheeks.
"I HATE YOU!" she screamed, pulling a vase from the nearest surface and throwing it against the wall. It broke, too, like the mirror before it. "I HATE YOU! I HATE YOU! I HATE YOU!" her voice, even when angry, sounded beautiful. The sounds of shattering glass and ceramic echoed around her for a few minutes, until finally the door was thrown open.
"Stop!" the other girl cried, dodging a teapot and pinning Mai's arms down. Mai whipped away and collapsed against te bed, her slim body heaving with sobs. Kemp kneeled beside her, touching her back lightly. "You'll hurt the baby." she whispered.
Mai turned around, her face an ugly mask of anger. "I didn't want this baby!" she exclaimed. "Akkikos forced it upon me!" she choked out, feeling her eyes sting with more tears.
Kemp frowned, her symapthy shown in her eyes. "But you have it now, and you have to take care of it. You can't let it die, wether you want it or not." she said gently, rising and exiting the room.
Mai lay upon her bed, the only bulge in her body at her abdomen, She rested her hands on the bump, feeling the child inside her. She was unable to grasp the face that there was a human growing between her hips. Especially because she had never tried, never wanted one. "I'll still take care of you." she whispered to her baby. "Even if that horrible man won't."
