Ren glared, but other than that, didn't seem to be too mad. Well, she was actually very pi**ed, but, like Akito used to, she tended to switch to a very velvety sort of purring voice.
"You say I'm a b*tch, but it's my selfish daughter who has been most cruel to you. And what do you call her? You're her friend now. She thinks just because she befriended that Honda girl, she's the most perfect thing in the world," Ren said.
Shigure arched an eyebrow. "I'd hardly say she believes she's perfect." He paused, then added. "Why is it you insult your daughter even when she's not around. Haven't you've gotten what you've wanted. She's not here any longer."
"She hasn't yet prostrated herself before me," Ren said simply, as if the reason was very, very easy to comprehend.

"You're an idiot." Crystal pointed out bluntly. "I mean, you're really an idiot!" She laughed.

Ren appeared to be unfased, except for a hardening of her algae eyes.
Shigure chuckled lightly.
"Why did Akira-san choose you as his wife again?" He asked.
He smirked as the woman's face went red with rage.
"He chose me because I was the only person that saw his pain! I was the only one that saw his sorrow! He was afraid of dying at a young age and I helped him! He chose me because he loved me!"
Shigure sighed. Ren's own daughter went through all the same fears that Akira had, and more. Akito had had to suffer the curse. She'd had to be god. She'd had to be the sacrifice.
Yet Ren couldn't bring herself to love that child because of jealousy. It irked him, and saddened him. Akito had been like Akira in many ways.

As they began to talk about the god, Crystal began to think of her own daughter, Mara, who was cursed with the god.
"If you understood his pain, why didn't you understand Akito's?" She asked.

"It's that child's fault he died. She doesn't deserve to be treated this way. Even if she didn't diretrectly kill him, it's her fault," Ren hissed angrily.
"She was five, Ren-san. When she was that age, she had even been trying to love you, and you blame her for his death?" Shigure asked Ren, smirking.

Crystal nodded once. "Plus, how do you know that you weren't the one who killed him?" Crystal countered.

For a split second, Ren actually looked hurt. But only for that one short moment.
"I didn't kill him! You can't think something like that. If anything, I improved his health! He got sicker and sicker after that... that horrible child was born! Before hand, he was just fine!" She nearly roared.
Shigure sighed. "This isn't going anywhere at all," he mumbled, fairly quiet. It was likely only Crystal would hear him. "What shall we say to her next?"

Crystal shrugged. "No idea. She's impossible and stubborn." Crystal mumbled back. She leaned back slightly against Shigure.

"Turn and walk away?" Shigure suggested, loud enough for Ren to hear him now. Ren opened her mouth, about to snap at him. But before either of them could say anything, Shigure turned on his heel, wrapped one arm around Crystal's torso, and started pulling her while she was still facing the opposite way. He was smirking, amused as he imagined how Ren must look.

Crystal turned in Shigure's arms, now facing the same way he was. A statisfied smirk danced on her dark face.

"Good," Shigure stated simply. "That was really fun. Sorry that you had to meet her in the first place, though. We were talking about your horrid uncle, then the worst mother in the world comes along," he said. He was speaking in a tone that you'd use to comment on the weather.
