Butterfly’s Wings
By

Life is like the flap of a butterflies’ wing. You never know when each breath will be your last. So many of us stress over being the first to die in the family, when we should be stressing over how we are going to live life before that happens. I have seen so many people throw their life away by making stupid choices. I am ashamed to say that although I knew many of them, not once did I ever try to help them. I have also seen a lot of people live life to its fullest like my grandfather. My papa’s name is Adolfo Torrescano. He is my favorite person in my family. I look up to him so much because nothing can stop this man. These last two or three years he has been fighting cancer in his left leg. My family and I have been stressing over his life and wonder how much longer we have left with him.
Whenever I see him, he is constantly working on something big, but all he is really doing is just getting himself tired. He has never, ever liked feeling helpless, or like someone doesn’t want his help. It’s not that we don’t want his help; it’s just that we don’t want him to hurt himself. We love him too much to let anything happen to him. No matter how hard we try we always lose because my grandfather won't take no for an answer. You could tell him no a billion times and he wouldn’t stop insisting to keep helping. We all have to either come inside and drag him in with us, or we have to make him come inside.
We never know with his health what day will be his last. Recently he’s been getting sick every other month, and I get worried sick about him. Five people this October have died, and I don’t want him to be number six. I don’t know what I would do without him. All I can do is pray that my grandpa or grandma won't be next.
