Cory wandered the mall in a futile search of Kyome. He knew the chances of finding her beautiful face were slim to none, and what would he say, even if he did? It was obvious she didn't like him. And even if she did, he couldn't do much. He wasn't like that dumb Edward Cullen, who went around with his mouth practically ATTATCHED to stupid ol' Bella. Cory knew he might, just might, have some hope in him, but he didn't think it was enough.

Cory was obviously lucky, because then Kyome walked past him. She was still in her school uniform. She had a pencil tucked behind her ear and she was heading for an empty table in the middle of the food court, holding a book and a notebook. She looked stressed. She hadn't even noticed Cory.

Cory glanced up. That scent was so familiar. He turned and saw her. He debated wether to go after her or not.

He followed a few feet behind her, preparing to stop and 'notice' her at the table. He stood behind a trash can, waiting for her to sit.

Kyome sat down and set her books on the table.

"Stupid teachers... stupid tests... stupid school..." She was muttering to herself as she scanned her book and copied notes into her notebook.

Cory walked by, then stopped. "Kyome?" he fake-questioned. "Hey! Nice to see you again!" he sat down. "Homework, huh?" he said.

Kyome decided to be kind of nice to Cory for once. But she moved away a bit nonetheless (I can't remember if that's supposed to be one word or not. lol).

"No. Test. I failed this stupid science test and I'm have to do a completely different test in order to bring my grade back up. I suck at taking notes..." She muttered angrily.

"I can give you mine. I've memorized this stuff." he said, trying not to be angry as she moved away a little. "Your still scared of me." he said in a lower voice.

"Maybe..." Kyome said quietly.

She decided maybe she could be open with Cory, since he all ready knew everything. So she changed the subject back to the notes. "Aaah... thanks for the offer. Arigato." She used the japanese words for thank you. "I'll think about taking your notes. I have so much going on right now. I hate this da**ed curse! If I get to stressed I transform. Not to mention I'm in Soccer. And my parents..." She trailed off there when she realized she may be being to open. She didn't want to talk about her parents' hatred of her.

Cory smiled sypethetically. "What about your parents?" he asked. After a quick silence he said. "Please don't be. I'm not a bad person, I swear. I wish I had a better way to help you understand."

Kyome grimaced. She had a feeling Cory would pursuade her to tell him anyway, so she just came out with it. "Well, cursed members in my family either have parents who hate them, or parents who love them unconditionally and are very overprotective of them. My parents are the kind that hate their zodiac child, which would be me. It really sucks. I mean... they still take care of me, and feed me, but... well it's hard to explain."

Cory frowned. "Why don't you run away?" he asked. "If they don't like you...leave."

[Akkii]

"And where would I go?" Kyome retorted. "I'm not going to live at a runnaway shelter. And Akito would definately do something to stop me from leaving."

((Cory should be like... Who's Akito?))

"Akito?" Cory said quizically. "I could help you." he replied. "No one'd ever find you. Unless you wanted them to."

[Akkii]

"Akito's the head of our family. And trust me, he has ways of finding things out. Only God knows how the he** he does it. But he does. And he has good ways of getting what he wants..." Kyome shivered as she thought of what had happened to Hatori's left eye.

Cory nodded. "Oh." he said. "That's too bad..." his mind wandered back to his little house, far away in the woods. No one had ever been within a mile of it.

((He should somehow convince her to come to his house for a while, and then Akito finds her and flips out.))

"Da**ed abusive little b*****d." Kyome muttered under her breath.

Cory smiled sadly. "That must be terrible." he said, not saying it to anyone in particular.

"Mm? You heard me? Let me guess: you have super hearing?" Kyome sighed. "Akito-san is terrible..." She sighed again. "I thnk he's been the worst to my cousin Yuki, though."

"I know who Yuki is." Cory sneered. "Full of himself, if you ask me." he snorted.

Kyome burst into laughter. "Right, right. Yuki's definately full of himself." She said sarcastically. "You don't know him too well, now, do you?"
