Kira was walking through the park with Hatori. Her hand in his larger, colder, and harder one. It had taken a while to get use to the changes ever since he bacame a vampire, but she was perfectly fine with them. To her, he didn't look any more or less attractive as before, and he was still Hatori, only with paler skin and a different eye color.
The bump between her hips was getting a little bit bigger every day. She was still thrilled at the thought that she was going to have twins with Hatori. She had been thinking of names for them, but none were really coming to her.
Kira glanced up at the sky, which was a light gray. It had rained last night, so the ground was still damp and the air was humid. But it looked like it might rain again.
((Baaad. XD But I dind't know what else to do..))

Mayuko was also in the park. She was taking a break from watching the book store. Who cared if Shigure robbed the place anyway? Whatever. She looked around out of boredom, and saw Hatori, walking with a girl. They were holding hands. The girl looked like she might be pregnant. Mayuko's heart just about shattered right there, but it didn't show. She walked over to the couple.
"Mayu?" Hatori asked in surprise, looking at the girl. She was tall. Taller than Kira. She towered over a lot of other girls. Of course, her height was no match for Hatori's.
"Hello, Hatori," Mayuko said, bowing politely. "You look... well," she commented. He looked so different. And the red eyes... wow. She could have sworn his eyes weren't always red. She was positive. What happened?
"And so do you. Mayuko, this is Kira, my wife."
Mayuko chewed her lip for a split second. Then she smiled at Kira. "Nice to meet you. I'm Mayuko Shiraki. Congratulations, you two."
"Thank you," Hatori replied.

Kira bowed to the taller girl.
"Hello, Shiraki-san." She said polietly to her. "It's nice to meet you." Kira said, looking up at the taller woman. Kira has always been a small woman, she was around five three, so she had to look up to see Mayu.

"You can call me Mayu, if you want," Mayuko said to Kira. "So, when did you two get married?" She was proud of herself for hiding the fact that she was pretty heartbroken.
"A few months ago," Hatori replied. "Mayu, I have a stepdaughter now. She's one of your students, right? Shade Sato?"
"Really? Shade?" Mayuko asked in an almost shocked voice. But Kira was so young... and Shade was a teenager... She'd noticed that Kira looked like Shade, but... wow.
Hatori nodded. "Mm-hm."
"She's a good kid," Mayuko commented. "Kira-san, you must have raised her well." Of course, there was that temper of Shade's, but recently it had gotten better. And Shade was keeping her grades up in the Language Arts class that Mayuko taught.

Kira prayed Mayu wouldn't ask about why Shade was a teenager and she was so young. Kira smiled a bit bashfully.
"Thank you... I tried my best to raise her." She said, a bit of blush appearing on her cheeks from the compliment.
((Mayu can ask if you want. XD Just so you knoooowwww. She doesn't have to.))

Mayu nodded, smiling, to Kira. "Ah, Hatori-san, how is your brother?" She asked, curious.
"He's been well. His studies are coming along. He may be ready to work at a hospital soon."
"That's nice," Mayu stated. Then she looked back at Kira. "Ah, if you don't mind my asking, are you pregnant?" She asked politely.
Hatori seemed to suddenly be beeming. Mayu felt that Kira was pregnant then. With Hatori's children. She'd never seen him so happy.

Kira grinned widly and nodded. "Yeah. With twins." She said almost proudly, smiling just as brightly at Hatori was.

"Con... congratulations," Mayuko said, in an almost tear-choked sounding voice. Shoot.
Hatori looked at Mayuko, concerned. "Mayu-san, is something wrong?"
Mayuko shook her head, looking away from them, suddenly seeming to be very interested in a nearby tree. She felt that she could just break into sobs in front of Hatori again... like that one time... a year and a half ago now, right? And then he'd taken her out to eat... She'd cried like a child, for no reason in particular. Just stress. She had wanted to murder Shigure that day, too.

Kira suddenly felt guilty for something. Mayu seemed upset right now... why?
"I-I'm sorry..." Was all that Kira was able to sputter out. "I didn't mean to make you upset..."

Mayu calmed herself down, and put on a slight smile. It was barely a smile though, but she didn't look upset anymore.
"No, no. It's okay. I'm very happy for the both of you," she said.

Kira nodded once, but was not fully convinced. Still, she let the subject drop and she smiled slightly at Mayu.
"Thank you." She said to the taller woman.

((Okay. Let's do Kana-chan. Then you can bring Shade in and she could say something without thinking like 'Hatori has a picture of you!' Because she's surprised to see Kana. XD I dunno. Something to make Ha'ri embarrassed.))
Kana headed up the path after a few minutes of a slightly awkward silence.
"Mayu-chan!" She called, rushing to her best friend. "Ah! Hello Hatori-san, Kira-san!" She added energetically.
Hatori stiffened slightly, and, not looking her in the eye, he said, "Hello."
"Hatori-san, you look different. Did you get contacts?" Kana asked curiously.
Hatori nodded. A little white lie.
"Ooh. I see." Kana nodded. After a few seconds, she gasped. "Kira-san, are you and Hatori-san married?" She'd seen the rings, just now.

Kira nodded to Kana, feeling slightly uncomfortable. She had met Kana once, and Kana just seemed so... perfect to her. It made Kira doubt that she was right for Hatori. B ut they were married now... right?
"Yes... we got married a few months ago." She said to Kana, smiling slightly.

"That's wonderful!" Kana gushed. "I'm so happy for you!"
"Kira-san is pregnant, too," Mayu said, putting her arm around her friend's shoulders.
"Really? That's amazing!"
Hatori smiled again, but still didn't look Kira directly in they eye.

"Wow, that's amazing!" Kana said. She was obviously very happy for the couple. Hatori couldn't help but think back to when they'd been together. He wondered if being around her now would make her remember. He didn't want that.

All Kira could realy do was smile graciously and look down at her feet, blushing slightly.
Shade walked through the park. She walked through the park almost every chance that she got. Up ahead was her mom and Hatori... with two other people.
Wait... Hatori and Kira were tlaking to her teacher!?
Shade's first impluse was to walk away, very quickly, but the other face caught her eyes. Light brown hair... light eyes... pretty smile...
Hatori had a picture of her...
Was that his first... his first lover?
Shade approached them.
"Hey Mom, Hatori, Sensei." Shade said with a slight bow towards her teacher. She let her gaze linger on Kana for a moment.
"... and the person Hatori has a picture of."

Hatori shifted his weight uncomfortably as a confused look crossed Kana's face.
Mayu pursed her lips. She, of course, remembered when Hatori and Kana had been going out. She was also positive that the Sohmas had many secrets. Shigure told her one. Hatori could suppress memories. She half-wished Shade hadn't said that. Hatori looked nervous.
"Really, Hatori?" Kana asked curiously.
"You were... a good assistant," Hatori murmured. It was a feeble excuse, but it worked nonetheless.
"Really? I'm honored that you thought I was that good!" Kana said happily.
"Anyway, hello, Shade."
Kana had caught the 'Mom' part, of course. "Kira-san, this is your daughter? She's absolutely beautiful. She looks a lot like you. Hatori-san, you must be proud to have her as you stepdaughter."
"I am," Hatori replied, with a nod.
