Kira held onto his hand. She chewed on her lip, and a few more tears fell down her face. She bowed her head and closed her eyes.
Not Hatori... Please... any one but Hatori She prayed, begging that he wouldn't die.

(Assuming that he was moved into the Cullen's house during the transformation....)
Burning. Still burning. How long had this gone on? Seconds? Minutes? Hours? Days? Weeks? Years? Eons?
It sure felt that way. Why couldn't he just die already? Why did it have to be so painful. He just wanted to scream 'Kill me!'.
Then the burning began to numb.
Then he opened his eyes.
Everything was in sharp focus, despite the fact he wasn't trying to focus at all. He could hear murmering downstairs, but didn't bother to make out what it was. He recognized the room as Carlisle's office. He sat up, taking in everything within half of a second. Kira was in here.
He turned on the bed to face her, legs hanging off the edge now.
"Kira," he murmered simply, eyes getting a bit wide when he heard his voice. Different...

Kira's face lit up brightly when he awoke.
"Hatori! Oh, Hatori!" She exclaimed happily, throwing her arms around his neck and hugging him tightly. Her soft, light olive neck was next to his face. She squeezed her eyes shut, trying to keep from crying because she was so happy that he made it.

Hatori blinked in surprise.
She was hugging him. And he wasn't transforming. He could feel a burning in his throat, but ignored it and wrapped his arms around her.
"My curse is broken," he whispered. He was crying, slightly, without tears. It really was sad. Part of him felt the sorrow. The other felt elation.

Kira cried into Hatori's shoulder.
"I'm so happy!" She exclaimed, holding him closer to her. She was happy that the curse was broken, but she was also happy that Hatori was alive.
"Kira, it would be a good idea to step away from him." Came a calm voice from the doorway, causing Kira to jump a little.
Then she remembered why and relucantly pulled away from Hatori.
Carlisle stepped up, a small hand mirror in his hand. Kira stepped away to allow Carlisle to appraoch Hatori.
He silently handed Hatori the hand mirror, watching quietly.

Hatori took it, and looked. Again, his eyes widened. His features were a bit more refined. His hair was just a bit longer, no change really in the length though, but it was an even darker shade. What caught him off guard, though, was the crimson eye staring back at him. Out of curiosity, he pulled his bangs away from his left eye. There were still scars. They'd turned silver, and lighter. And that eye wasn't as clouded as before. He could see better through his left eye now, he realized. It was still a bit blurry, though.
"Wow," was all he was able to get out. He handed the mirror back to Carlisle, allowing his bangs to fall back in place.

Carlisle smiled slightly. "You reacted well." He informed Hatori. "But I should adivse that you stay away from humans for a while." He said. The looked over at Kira. "And you should avoid Hatori, too." He said.
"Why? I'm ammune to vampire venom." Asked Kira, confused.
"That just means he can't turn you. That still wouldn't stop him from biting you and causing you to bleed out or accidently smashing your skull in." Carlisle said bluntly.

"I'm the family doctor though. And I have some members of the family who are quite sickly. How would they be able to cope?" Hatori asked. He didn't sound angry, but worried. He had a good idea of how Akito would react to this. There would most certainly be tears. She'd be hurt. And there was no chance of her going to any other doctor...

"I'll help, too, if you need me to. But Hatori, what if someone is cut and loses control? It would be safer for them and you if you stay away form people for a while." Carlisle tried to explain.

Hatori nodded. "Arigato, Carlisle. I understand why I should stay away from people. I'm worried about how Akito will react though... He will not be happy..." His brow was furrowed a bit in concern.

Carlisle nodded. "Now you should probably go hunting... you'll be hungry." He said. He looked over at Kira.
"I'm sorry for taking him away from you after you just got him back." Appogized Carlisle.
"As long as he's fine, I'm fine." Kira said, then looked up at Hatori as if to ask if he was fine.

Hatori nodded to her. He stood up, and came carefully over to Kira. He kissed her gently on the cheek. The smell of her blood really was good. but he was managing to ignore it. He'd always had good control over just about anything he did.
"So, am I hunting with you, Carlisle-san?" Hatori asked. He wondered vaguely how that would work.

Hatori followed close behind. "I do hope this proves my theory correct. A while ago, didn't I ask if Devon-kun was a vampire?" The memory was hazy, but he was positive that he had.
