Saki, Tohru, and Arisa's class had just ended. Tohru and Arisa headed for the door. Saki didn't follow.
Arisa turned around, so did Tohru. "C'mon, Hana," Arisa said. "Why aren't you coming? School's over."
Saki laughed. "I have to take a make-up test. So I'll see you both later."
"Okay, then, Hana-chan! Do your best!" Tohru said.
"Of course, Tohru-kun."
So Tohru and Arisa left. Saki took the make-up test. Then she started heading home.
"Hey, it's the witch!" Somebody said from behind her as she walked off the school grounds. She'd passed a group of girls, but hadn't taken any notice. But now she stiffened, and turned around to face the girls. Now that she got a good look at them, they looked vaguely familiar.
"C'mon, witch! Why aren't you talking? Still as quiet as you always are?"
"...Hello..." Saki murmered.
Her eyes widened when she saw one of the girls holding a match box.
"Let's fire up that experiment again..." One girl said, as the group walked over to her. She was by a mesh fence, so she was kind of cornered as the girls surrounded her. Two held her arm tightly and pressed it against the fence.
No, not this again... Saki thought as a girl lit a match and brought it close to her arm.
"Last time she didn't get mad, though," one said.
"Who cares? Maybe she will this time," said another.
The match touched Saki's arm, and she had to bite her lip to keep from screaming. She squeezed her eyes shut. She had to control her power!
I can't do it! Someone, HELP!

Edward had been passing by in his volvo, when he heard Saki begging for help in mind.
He sent out a mental message to her, remembering she could also read thoughts.
Saki... what is it? He asked, hoping that she could hear him as he pulled up next to the school and got out of the car.

Saki heard Edward faintly. There are girls from my old middle school... they're burning me again. Get them to stop before I end up hurting them. Please!
Two girls were plugging their noses. "Ew, it smells! Come on, Saki! You've gotten mad before, get mad now!"
((LW's planning on posting when she gets back on with L. So we need to keep the girls around. XD 'I've got a gun, and a license to use it.'))

L was walking home with Abbi when he spotted the scene. Of course Abbi had been at Day Care since he had been working till now. Since he had just gotten off work he still had his gun and work stuff on. He had a slight smirk before approaching with a completely strait face.
"You know I have a gun and a license to use it. Since this would be considered against the law..." He said leaving the rest for them to fill in themselves.

Edward smirked a bit at the guy that approached. He followed in behind him.
"I...we...must ask that you please step away from Saki." Edward said to the girls.

The group of girls gasped, and the two girls holding onto Saki's arm let go. The girl with the match threw it to the ground and put it out. Dangit, they couldn't say that she'd been smoking and they were telling her to stop this time...
Saki breathed a sigh of relief as Edward and the other man arrived. She'd managed to not hurt any of the girls. She looked at her arm. Her skin was black and gray where she'd been burnt. She winced as she touched it to see how she was.
"B-but..." One girl said, trying to think up a believable excuse.

Lawliet raised his eyebrows apparently waiting to see what she could think up when he had seen the whole thing. Plus he had his badge and everything with him. So it's not like they could really challenge him.
"Don't waste brain cells in thinking up an excuse." He said in a monotone voice. Well that was his normal voice.
((XD You know L would probably know Charlie if Charlie still works with the police.))

The girls glanced at eachother uneasily and started edging away from Saki. They walked around L and Edward and walked away, their paces very quick.
"She really is a witch, with protecters and everything...." One of them murmered once they were out of earshot of everyone but Edward. Of course, they didn't know that.
"Thanks..." Saki murmered. "I'm so glad you showed up. I would have ended up hurting them if you hadn't come along," she said to the two.

Lawliet straitened slightly. Of course he usually stood in his funny hunched over position. Lately it had been a bit better.
"No problem... I believe you are one of Bella's friends." Lawliet said simply. He glanced at Edward. "Charlie talks about her friends a lot." He added so he didn't looked more weird then he already did.

Saki nodded. "Right, Charlie's a police officer..." She said, obviously she had let it slip her mind for a moment, which wasn't like her.
"You have interesting waves..." She said, practically under her breath. The waves weren't inhuman, just a bit different from most.

Abbi giggled. "Why were they being mean to you?" She asked Saki.
"Because they don't like me," Saki said to the little girl simply. Best leave out the details of her having poisonous denpa.
((L should have noticed that she Saki said he had interesting waves and be like 'waves'? XD))

Lawliet glanced at Saki. "What did you mean by waves?" He asked slight interest coloring his tone. He glanced at Abbi. She was a lot more bubbly then him or any other people he had dealt with. Then again he did deal with criminals on a day to day bases.

Saki nodded. "I was born with an ability. I can hear people's thoughts in a way, and sense their emotions, or anything special about them. Your waves, seem interesting," She said, then glanced down at Abbi. "And your waves are very pure. People with waves as pure as yours are rare..." Saki said to Abbi.
Abbi smiled. She wasn't exactly sure what they were talking about. Waves, and pure, and interesting Uncle L. So she was guessing it was good what Saki said to her. "Thanks," She said. "Oh, I'm Abbi!" She said, figuring it would be good to introduce herself.
Saki chuckled a bit. She couldn't help it. "I'm Saki."

Lawliet kinda watched her for a moment. It sounded like some power a vampire would have. "That's strange. I suppose that's why you were being picked on." He said voice unchanging. He was used to Abbi's 'pureness'.
