Snow was falling from the sky, which was colored with white-gray clouds. Yuki walked out of the doors of Kaibarra High School. For once he wasn't being swarmed or attacked by the 'Prince' Yuki Fan-club. Ember hadn't been there today, she'd said she'd be going hunting. So he was basicaly alone, because most of the other Cullens went with her except for Jasper, but he only had one class with the calm vampire. He heard footsteps coming his way and instinctively looked over his shoulder to see who it was.

((This is Sacrifice.))
The faint snow fall brought about a sense of calm as Chiyo exited the school shortly after Yuki did. She was rather new there, having joined only a couple months ago. For some reason though, she found herself drawn to Yuki's calm manner, and despite the fact that he already had a girl friend, she couldn't help the small crush she had on him. He had always seemed to be rather anti-social, and unaware of the rather large fan club for him. Still, the fact that today, he was alone, it gave her the courage to decide to finally talk to him. Taking a deep breath, she sped up her pace to match it with his. "Hello Yuki." She said softly, although she knew he probably wouldn't know her. There were too many people for him to know everyone's name.

Yuki turned all the way to face her and smiled politely. "Aah... Hello, mm... what's your name?" He grimaced, looking a little embarrassed. He felt that he sounded a little rude.

Chiyo smiled kindly as she saw his grimance. She would have been the same way though, thats why it took her so long to actually get the courgae to talk to someone. She was always afraid that she might sound rude or obnoxius. Both of which she hated when being talked to. Though, she could understand what Yuki had said, as the thought had just crossed her mind that it was possible he didn't even know her. More then possible actually, she had been almost 100% positive he wouldn't. Chiyo had never been the most social being, so she wasn't really talked about. Making friends was harder for her, she found she didn't trust people really easily. It was a really bad habit she knew, but being hurt once was more then enough for her to experiance. It had left her feeling so empty inside, it was amazing she always thought, that she had lived to tell the tale. Well, she really hadn't told anyone, she had just let the feelings grow insider her until somedays it seemed to scream to be let out. In those days, she was the most distant, not wanting to have to make anyone listen out of courtsy, and then think she was weak.
"I am Chiyo."
Chiyo really didn't want to give away her last name, names held power she knew. They could either help or save you. Of course, not all the time did names have effects. Some people didn't care how their names were used or anything. Chiyro smiled slightly again, never really a full smile. "It wasn't rude. You can't know everyone's name." She said. She just hoped she had read the grimance correctly, no need to make a fool of herself so early. Well, she thought to herself, it might be too late already. Maybe she shouldn't have talked to him. She knew that she would probably make a fool of herself. She had always been open once she started to really talk to that person.

Yuki smiled back, his grimace disappearing slowly. "Thanks," He said. "Are you a first year here, Chiyo-san?" He asked. "By the way, nice to meet you"

Chiyo was glad to see Yuki's grimance fading. Even more glad that she hadn't made a fool of herself, not yet at least. Chiyo was not sure what she would do really, is she made a fool of herself in front of Yuki. Probably try to smooth it over, and then go home and vent her unhappiness out about this being the only time she can talk to Yuki alone and she just had ti blow it. Yup, that would be exactly what she would do. "Yes, I actually just moved here not too long ago really." Chiyo said simply. Moving had been because her father had gotten a new job that was suppose to pay better. Not that she really saw much of her parents these days. They were always off doing something else. It had made Chiyo more independent, and forced her to get a job as early as possible. Not that she minded working as a movie theater person. At least the pay was decent, she could feed herself. "The snow is nice, I've always liked the winter." Chiyro said conversationally.

"Mm-hm," Yuki agreed, looking up at the sky. He watched the snow fall and felt it on his face. He looked back at her. "It seems winter's coming early, huh?" He smiled again. He looked at his watch. "Oh, maybe I should be getting home. I don't want to catch a cold out here." He turned and began to walk, but looked over his shoulder and waved, still walking as he did so. "Sorry I'm leaving so suddenly! Talk to you tomo--" He cut off as he slipped on a little ice patch.

Chiyro sighed slighlty as the snow melted on her upward looking face. The white grey clouds made everything look gloomier, but it wasn't a bad thing really. Sometimes the gloom hid what you didn't want to see, and that made it all with the while. "We did have a later summer. Maybe winter will be early this year." She said simply. Chiyro found herself smiling back as he grinned ever so slightly.
The nest things happened rather fastly, or so it seemed to her. As Yuki started to fall, the sudewalk would be painful if he landed on it, Chiyro leapt foreward and pulled him back. A sudden poof made her loose her balance as she slipped on the ice patch and fell. Beside her, sat a rat on a pile of Yuki's clothes. "I think I hit my head too hard. I must be seeing things." She muttered softly, not really sure what to think.

"Crap," The rat muttered. Yuki watched Chiyo for a second. His eyes got wide suddenly. "Oh, d******!" He said suddenly. There was another poof...
Yuki stood there, completely naked. He picked up his clothes, his face bright red, and started dressing, turning away from Chiryo so she couldn't /see/.

Chiryo blinked, before she covered her eyes quickly with her arm. She had so not needed to see that much of Yuki. Or anyone, for that matter. Her face caught a slightly blush, although she knew it wouldn't be as scarlet as Yuki's. As Yuki finished pulling up his clothes, Chiyro got to her feet carefully, not wanting to slip on another ice patch. She was still trying to figure out what had happened before. Yuki had been falling, she had caught him, there was a poof, and then a rat was on Yuki's clothes and she had slipped on an ice patch. She didn't think she had imagined it, but she wasn't going to ask. There were some things that were better left to be explained then questioned, she had been told before. Still, she couldn't help the curiousity in her ice blue eyes. Having gotten back to her feet, she brushed off the faint snow her school uniform. It was her last clean one, she would have to clean it it today, joy. All these other concerns though, were slight compared the the questions she wanted to ask Yuki. Still though, she kept silent.

Yuki was tying the tie of his school uniform now, his face still bright red. Now he was afraid to face Chiryo. What would happen? Would she run away and tell? But never the less, he turned around to face her. His tie was crooked, but whatever. He was slipping his jacket on now.
"I... suppose I owe you an explanation, huh?" Yuki asked. The blush in his cheeks still hadn't faded as he began to explain.
"Aah... How do I start? Well, you know the story of the chinese zodiac? The twelve animals, plus the cat? Well, the Sohma family is cursed, and whenever we are hugged by the opposite sex or are exausted or stressed, we transform. I am the rat. Kyo, the orange haired boy, you know, my cousin? He's the cat, which is why we argue a lot, if you've seen us." He didn't look her in the eye.
Still Yuki was blushing. "Gah, I'm such an idiot. I only just got my cast off of my arm and I'm already tripping and everything... exposing the secret. Crap." He muttered to himself angrily.
He finally looked Chiryo. "So... what are you going to do now?"

Chiyo gazed off into the distance, before she turned her attention back to Yuki, not really sure what to think. This would most definalty be the strangest day she had ever had in a, well, ever. As he began to speak about the Zodiac, Chiyo found herself nodding. Memories flashed back, of her mother and father telling her those stories in better times, when they could be considered a family. Not just something that looks like a family.
"The one you always seem to be tense around?" She asked. The tension, while not noticable to some, was really noticable to her. Despite what others may think, she did have a more sensitive side. Of course, it had been somewhat buried over the years, but it was still there. Yuki soon seemed to get angry though, and Chiyo really didn't want him to be. It was somewhat her fault, at least, that was what she had thought. If she hadn't had caught him, he would have fallen true, but none of this would have happened. But, as the counter argument went, she didn't want him to fall, so she had saved him. Not that she had known anything about this. It seemed she was more blind to the world then she thought.
"Relax, please. I won't tell anyone, I'm good with secrets." She knew she had enough of them that her secret bottle was starting to overflow it seemed. At least, the one about herself. His next question made her think. Really this was sort of freaky, but it wasn't a bad freaky.
"I'm not going to flee running and screaming, if thats what you think." She said with a small smile, trying to lighten the mood. It was something she hadn't done before, and was rather hard work. Her gaze soon turned serious though. "I guess I'll just live my life like any other day.I mean, its not like anyone will ask what I did today." She said, before noticing what she had said. Oh great... Now she had done it. She had blown what she had been keeping hidden for so long. Too long maybe.

Yuki smiled at her. "Thank you," He said. He let out a quiet cough. Stupid asthma (sp?). At least he had his inhaler with him if he had an attack. He put on his back pack. "Why don't we walk together for a while, you know, keep eachother from falling?" He joked.

Chiyo couldn't help but smile slightly back. Maybe today wouldn't be as bad as she thought it would be. At least she had seen worse things then what had occured today. The snow was falling more thickly now, she noted. It would soon cover the sidewalk. It seemed winter really would come early then. Good, she thought to herself. She loved winter. The snow always made things more intresting. And it covered up everything, making it look so clean. Sometimes it would even lift spirits. Chyo shook her head, but she was smiling. "They should put up hazard signs." She said jokingly back. She picked up her pack though and started walking with him.

Yuki laughed. "Yeah. I wonder how Honda-san's holding up. No doubt she and Kyo haven't made it home yet." He smirked. "Why don't we head down to my place?"
You could tell by the way he said it, it sounded like he was inviting a friend over.

Chiyo smiled. She really hadn't met them before, but she wouldn't mind. Her mood was suprisingly high. Naybe she was going into some sort of shock, Chiyo had never felt this goo ever. Not since, well she couldn't remember. She was suprised by his offer though; she had only seen his house from the outside before. It looked to be rather nice, yet it seemed almost everyday there was somebody fixing something. She had guessed there had been a lot of fights, and now she could see why. It was good that something finally made some sense to her. Unsolved mysterys were really annoying to her; reasons why she could never read mystery books.
"Sure. I'd love to see your home." She said, matching his tone. As if they had been friends for longer then just the small time they had been. It was still hard to imagine herslef talking to Yuki. It seemed all like a dream to her. A really good dream.

Yuki smiled. Chiyo was so nice, so accepting. A lot like Tohru. Maybe that's why he'd gotten along so easily with Chiyo right away. "Great. C'mon, let's go."
Most of the walk it was silence, not an awkward silence though. A comfortable one. They were nearing a building, not Yuki's house, for they weren't in the forest yet. But on it a sign hung that said 'Sohma Estate.' His pace quickened and he slipped, but didn't fall, on ice and snow that was on the sidewalk. A raven-haired man looked out his window, at first looking interesting and then glaring when he saw the girl walking with Yuki. Yuki noticed this. Akito was watching him... His pace quickened even more, and he almost ran, forgetting for a moment that he was walking with Chiyo. He immediately slowed himself to a halt as soon as he remembered. At least he was past the Sohma House now. He turned around to face Chiyo, who had apparently kept up better than he'd though she would have. "So sorry," He realized he was panting. "Sorry I did that," He covered his mouth as he coughed a few times.

The silence that streched between them was not an akward one. It was more of a comfortable, 'I don't really have anything to say but thats not bad' silence, as nothing really needed to be said. The snow was still falling rather well, it would be intresting to see if they had school or not. Usually if it got too deep they didn't. Such an early snow this year, it was quite amazing. Things seemed to speed up then though, as it was really unexpected.
Yuki almost fell, it took a lot of self control on Chiyo not to pull him back. She knew that it must be kept a secret, and there were people passing by. She was glad to see though, that he had caught himself. It would be very bad if he didn't. Chiyo would have felt terrible for letting him fall, but she would have felt bad for turning him into a rat again. Once was more then enough. And there were a few people around right now, they had been lucky that the school yard had been deserted. The raven haired man watched them for a minute, his expression making Chiyo feel a bit nervous. Usually people didn't affect her, but for some reason this one did. Appearntly though, she wasn't the only one. When Yuki took off, she hoped it was just to get away from the raven haired person not her, she didn't follow. Not at first. She would see what he had meant first. However, that did not mean she didn't keep up with him. She was quick and surefotted, even in the snow and ice. She had kept up though, to escape the glare of the raven haired man. She just shrugged slightly at his apology. She really didn't know what to say. He soon began to cough though, making her start to worry. This wasn't the first time he had coughed. She didn't know if he was getting a cold, or what.
"Are you alright? You've been coughing a lot." Her tone was the tone of a worried friend. She could have bet though, that the running couldn't have helped. She didn't know about his asthma. Nobody in the club did, or at least, they had never told her. She had always been the outsider there. Maybe it was just because she wasn't so bouncy as they were, she being more reserved. Once you got past the reserve though, Chiyo was a pretty good person all and all.

"Yeah, I'm fine. I have asthma. But it's okay, I have my inhaler if I have an attack..." Yuki trailed off as he started searching his pockets.
Crap, it must have fallen out of my pocket when I transformed. Oh well, I shouldn't have an attack as long as I don't push myself.
Yuki stopped searcing his pockets, not wanting to worry Chiyo. He smiled, as if he'd found it in the last pocket he searched, and then took his hand out of that pocket. "Well, let's keep going."
((Should I have Yuki have an attack? It can be close to the house so it's not too much of a problem. We can say he has a spare inhaler at his house. ^^))

((Yeah!))
Chiyo nodded, glad to see at least it wasn't a cold. Or maybe it would have better if it was? She really didn't know much about stuff like that. She would only have to take his word for it. She watched him search his pockets, before it looked like he had found it. "It gets dark rather early now with the clouds so gloomy." She said, trying to start up a conversation again. She wanted to try and forget wthat had happened back there. She watched where she was walking though, not wanting to slip and fall. The ground, as she had learned earlier, was quite painful with the ice and she had already been hit once by it. Although, that timeit had been by suprise rather then falling really.
