((Lame title. XD))
The world. So bright, so large, so cruel. From the eyes of a child the world is a scary place.
Full of hate. Lying. Greed. Desiease. Killing.
A truely frightening place. Why would anyone want to bring a child into such a terrible world?
Shade looked up at the city from where she stood. She had left the house. She didn't know why, but she didn't want to cooped up inside there for another day. But she couldn't find the words to express her pent-up feelings.
So she had gotten out. And what now? She didn't know.
She kept her head down and shuffled through the crowd, peering at them through the corner of her eyes.
Soon she reached the apartments. She stood infront of the building, staring up at it.
A man stepped out with another woman.
"Shade... ?"
((Bleh. It sucks. XP Monkey Butt. I guess you could have Zenri say something...))

Zenri was surprised. Shade was supposed to be dead. Jeez, what's with all these people that are supposed to be dead, some how coming back to life? It was odd. But, hey, she wouldn't have met Lee if things weren't like that. So it was good.
"Lee... How is she here?" She asked him; glancing back at him.

Lee advanced slowly towards his adopted daughter, who didn't attempt to run away at the moment.
"I'd imagine that Kira would have something to say about her daughter dying." He said, taking another step to the dark-haired girl.
"Shade?" Lee asked softly. "Be a good girl and come're." Lee beckoned to her.

Zenri glanced at him once again as he walked toward the girl. She stayed put for the moment, not sure about moving, afraid she might just scare Shade. Well, unless the girl was completely in her right mind. But by her thoughts, that was a bit N-O. They were foggy and confused. Not even coming out in complete... Thoughts.
"She's scared... And confused..." The women murmured. "Shade?" She said quietly, taking a hardly noticeable step forward.

Shade glanced over at Zenri, paniked.
"Ssh, ssh, Shade. Calm down." Lee said softly, sending out emotions of peace and calmness. He made sure not to send them to strong. That might make her even more confused.
"Why don't you come with me?" He asked, lifting her eyebrows slightly at the girl. It was almost errie, just how Lee could almost control people by controlling their emotions. Some might concider it on the sadistic side.
But Shade followed him. And she didn't struggle. He had already gone past her barriers in merely five minutes. That was even more frightening in it's own way.

Zenri stopped moving. Then looked away. Maybe that would help. She glanced back at Lee as he got the girl to go to him.
"Should we go back up to your apartment?" She asked.
((TERRIFIC! It's really just a mix between terrible and... Well, it's a lot like Terrible it just means something else. XD))

((XDD I always thought it kinda sounded like 'Terrifying' but that's just me. XD))
Lee nodded at Zenri.
"Yeah, she's calm now. Maybe you can get more of her thoughts, too, now that's she not as jumpy." Lee suggested as he led his daughter and Zenri back inside.

Zenri nodded slightly. She listened, but it was more emotions then anything.
"It's hard... They're still blurred..." The woman murmured the reply. Then looked back at Lee.

Shade was calmer now, but her mind was still spinning. Who was this woman? Where was she? Why was it so bright? Why was it so harsh? What does it hurt?
Lee lead her inside and back to his room.
"Anything yet?" He asked Zenri.

"A lot..." Zenri said trailing off. Then she continued on to answer the girls questions. "I'm Zenri, Shade. You're in Lee's apartment building. I... We'll take you somewhere where it's not so bright." She explained then glanced back at Lee. "She says something hurts, I think it's the lights though..."

Shade was silent, but watched Zenri closely like she was still unsure about the lady.
Lee looked up at the lights before walking over to the switch and turning them off. He also pulled the curtains shut.
"Better?" He asked the two girls. Shade was a bit less of pain now that the lights were shut. It was obviously from just her body language alone.

Zenri gave a slight nod. "I'm not going to hurt you, and Lee was your adoptive father. Though I'm pretty sure you consider him your father." She murmured to the black haired girl.

Shade was still silent.
"I don't think she can talk." Lee said, peering at Shade like some sort of cat watching something interesting. The strange man was persched now on his bed and had his hands on his knees. His head was cocked in Shade's direction.

Lee looked over at Zenri.
"Wonder what else is wrong with her..." He thought aloud, looking up towards the ceiling in thought.
"... I want to die." Came a small, childlike voice that got Lee's attention. Shade was still looking down when she said it, and when she looked up her eyes were completely blank.
Lee was scared for her.
"... Kill me." She said again to him. Her voice was completely monotone. No emotion at all. Lee reach out with his power, it was almost like arms pushing feeling around for something. HIs one other family member with the Emotion power told him that it was called 'trelling' and one day he might be able to trell other things. But now that he was a vampire, Lee never tried because he figured he was stuck with the same power.
Lee's trell told him that Shade was still feeling frightened, and depressed. She felt like she had been kidnapped, a frightening feeling that instantly made a bitter taste and Lee mouth and snap his powers away from her. But what would cause her to feel like that... ?

((Nice post.  XD Now... I must see if I can make mine better... XD)) Zenri was surprised by the girls voice and almost missed what Shade had said. "I want to die." An odd thing to say... She'd already died once, maybe being brought back was really that bad that a person would want to die again to get away from it. Zenri, through her power, could tell what Shade was feeling. Though it was in more confused waves, since that was how Shade thought of it. At least, that's how Zenri took it. She was lost for words, and really didn't want to say anything anyway. So instead she looked back at Lee. But after a moment of thought she spoke up. "Lee... Do you think we should try to reach Kira?" She asked. Though she didn't know if Lee knew Kira's number or anything. ((*head desk* XP)) |

Lee hesitated before answering.
"Weeelll... she doesn't know I have it..." He said sheepishly, rocking his self side-to-side. "I used to... keep tabs on her." He said. "Make sure nothing happened." He said. "But I stopped when I met you, I promise!" He exclaimed like a young child, throwing his arms up and scaring the already frightened and timid Shade. Lee rushed to send calming waves to her.
"I could get Ryuuk and Gaku to watch her with Yasu, but I'm not sure if I want them looking after her..." He said. "They lost a six-foot tall bald teenager in one night after reviving him." He sighed. "It was sheer luck we found him at a playground." He said, sliding off the bed now and standing. Lee shoved his hands in to the pockets of his paint-stained jeans and cast an neye on the large mural on the wall that represented his picture side of Zenri. He now thought of doing one on the opposite wall for Shade, but he couldn't get her right colors right now. Murky greens and depressed grays with smears of black like oil running down the painting. Navy blue swirled in there was the only non-drab color, but it clashed grotesquely with the other colors and stood for longing and saddness.
Lee sighed and looked back at Zenri.
"I guess I can call Kira..." He admitted defeat.

Zenri raised an eyebrow, but couldn't resist a laugh. Though she managed to keep it quiet so that she didn't frighten Shade. "You might want to..." Then after a moment of thought she shrugged. "I'll help take care of her, though, as well." She offered; looking over at him.
The woman looked over rather curiously at Shade. "I wonder how they brought her back anyway..." She murmured. "Fae magic?" The woman added thoughtfully.

"Probably. No other way to do it." Lee said, pouting at Zenri when she laughed at him. The blacked haired vampire got over it wuickly though.
