The funeral.
Kira wasn't paying attention. Her eyes were glued to the ground, the words of others sounded fuzzy and distance. She blinked a couple of times.
She had cried yet.
It didn't make sense. She's gone? She didn't understand. Why was she gone? She wasn't supposed to be gone. The children were supposed to outlive their parents. It didn't make sense.
Kira's head snapped up as people began to walk up and place dirt on the grave.
"No! Don't bury her!" Kira freaked out, her eyes wide as she rushed forward. "Kira!" Kiyoshi was the first to call out, rushing after his aunt. "She's already been through enough!! Don't bury her!!" Kiyoshi took her by the elbow and pulled her into an embrace. "She's gone, Kira. Gone." Kiyoshi told her a bit sternly, but it was probably the only way it's get through to her head. Kira almost looked like a small child.
And then she cried.
And they buried Shade.
And she was gone. Shade was gone. Forever.
((Bleh. I tried >.<))

As people were beginning to depart, Hatori wrapped his wife into an embrace, a little like Kiyoshi had done. But he was very gentle. Sometimes his strength scared him. Like when he'd hold Kira just a little too tight, and hurt her or something. So he was often careful now. He kissed her forehead. He couldn't quite believe Shade was really gone. This girl that he'd hit with a car three or four years ago... she was dead now. She'd come from being a total stranger to a beloved stepdaughter. There wasn't anything he could really say to his wife.
Tadao sat at his girlfriend's grave.
To think he had planned proposing to her the day she died. No, this was terrible. She wasn't gone. That couldn't be it... could it? He shifted from his respectful sitting position to laying on his side, staring at the grave tiredly with dead dark blue eyes.
Lee was just standing behind his father's back. It was strange. He couldn't remember the tears stopping since he'd gotten the news that his mom had died. Yet, he never made any sort of sound that signaled he'd been crying. And when he'd talk, he'd sound fine. But he could feel the tears.
Akito stood as far from the others as possible. She hadn't come with Devon (assuming Devon still thinks Akito's lying and they're still kinda mad at each other...), though she'd been positive that she'd seen him. But she didn't bother searching the crowd for him.. and her daughter. Instead, she watched Hatori holding Kira gently, trying to comfort his wife at the loss of their daughter. Well, his stepdaughter. But whatever.
Akito was sad too. And she really would have been crying if she could. She had grown fond of the girl, but regretted that she'd not made any effort to atone with the girl as of yet. Now she never would. That was a depressing thought.

Kiyoshi leaned against a tree, staring up at the sky. His twin approached him. "Can't believe she's gone. She was supposed to stay aand make sure we didn't get into trouble." Kiyoshi told his sister, not looking at her. "Yeah." Murmured Kyoshi. "Ah, sh*t, It's raining." Kiyoshi looked down at away now, wipping his face. "Wha? It's not raining..." Kyoshi quickly became confused. She looked up at her younger twin, tilting her head. She saw him wipe a tear away. "Yeah, terrible rain." Kyoshi said, after getting the hint.
Kira allowed Hatori to hold her. "She's gone." Kira whimpered. "Why did she have to go? Why? I don't understand." Kira continued to whimper, sounding very vanurable and small.
Ryuzaki approached Akito. He looked up at the family head. He seemed blank but the boy was hurting on the inside. This was the first funeral he had attended. And now it just seemed to sink in that his dad's best friend was gone. "'Kito?" Asked Ryuzaki. "Did you know Shade when she was a kid?" He asked. "Or a teenager?" The boy wanted to know more about this woman. She had always treated him kindly and was a werewolf like him and his dad.

Hatori shook his head. "I... don't know. I don't know why life works the way it does... but I'm sure she's in a better place now, Kira," he mumbled, trying to reassure her, while on the inside, he felt the exact same way as Kira looked. Maybe he should have at least tried to change Shade into a vampire. But... he hadn't. He felt as if this was all his fault, and almost wanted Kira to be angry at him. Almost. He ran his hand up and down her back.
Akito looked down at Ryuzaki. She crouched down, so she was closer to his level. "I... I did," she murmured. "I did know Shade when she was a teenager." She still kind of is. Eightteen or nineteen... Even if people at that age were considered adults, they were still teens. "Just... not very well," she admitted. She really didn't know Shade all that well. She'd been too busy hating the girl.

"Oh." Ryuzaki said. He cast a glance at the woman's grave. "She was nice... I'm sad that she's gone..." Kira sniffed and buried her face into Hatori's chest. ((Gah. ::death:

Akito nodded. "She was a wonderful girl." She knew that Ryuzaki was Shade's son. Of course, she didn't tell him that.
Hatori held her close. He'd have to think of something to say to Kira...

"I-It's my fault." Kira whimpered. "All my fault, all my fault. She's gone and it's my fault." Kira began to glare into Hatori's chest. Not at Hatori, but Kira couldn't handle these emotions. She curled her hand up into a fist and punched it into Hatori's chest, the hardness bruising her hand. She punched a him a couple more times, still glaring. She wasn't really thinking strait right now. "It's my fault!"
((Couldn't think anything of Ryuzaki at this moment. XD Maybe you could bring in Kyo...))

((Okay))
Hatori shook his head. No, it wasn't Kira's fault. How could it possibly be her fault? It was definitely his. Of course, he held his composure much better than his wife. He took both of her hands in his, gently making her unclench her fists. He kissed her lightly on the lips.
"Shh, don't say that," he murmured sadly, tilting her chin so she was looking up at him.

Kira's breathing slowed down, but her cheeks were still flushed from anger and crying. She didn't say anything as her glare softened up. Kira looked up into her husbands eyes, tears threatened to spill out of her own emerald ones. "B-but's it's my fault..." Kira whimpered.

"Don't think that," Hatori murmured. "It's not anybody's fault."
Well, he felt it was his, but he didn't feel saying that right now would make Kira feel any better.
"Don't blame yourself for your... our daughter's death, Kira," he said, sounding more determined, looking a little fierce.
((Not quite sure how to bring Kyo in yet. Lemme think a little.))

((Okay. XDD))
"I wasn't a good mother!" Kira lost what little shred of control she had left. Her pupils shrank and she looked around in anger. "I could have prevented this! Don't say that this isn't my fault when you d*** well that it was my f****** fault!"

Hatori gripped her by the shoulders. Not hard, though. He laid his forehead against the top of her hair, breathing in her scent with easily kept control.
"You were a wonderful mother, Kira. Shade was an amazing kid. She was proof of how great of a mother you were."

Kira whimpered again. But atleast seemed to have calmed down for down. "I-I don't want her to be g-gone." Kira choked out between sobs. She now wrapped her arms around Hatori's torso and held him close.

"I don't either, Kira," Hatori murmured. "It's hard to believe she's gone. You aren't the only one who misses her," he whispered, his lips brushing her forehead as he spoke.
