Kairi was sitting in Devon's room. Well, it had been Akito's, but after she'd left, it seemed the woman didn't want to make Devon leave, feeling it would be rude, so now Akito lived in some other part of the house. Kairi herself felt bad. She liked Akito. She thought Akito was cool, and she liked being friends with her. But now, it seemed that she was just putting a sort of rift between Akito and Devon. She wondered if her friend was ever mad at her for being in love with Devon now... She sighed absentmindedly, forgetting for a moment that Devon was sitting right beside her.
"Hey, Devon, maybe we could go hang out somewhere..." she suggested quietly, smiling at him. They weren't quite... serious, yet. But she loved him. He was a great guy, she could understand why Akito had fallen for him... shoot, her thoughts were back to her friend again. She really did feel bad, but she didn't need to think about that right now, right? She looked at his honeygold eyes. She had no clue that they'd once been the most beautiful color that matched flawed lapis. She didn't know that he was over two thousand years old. She didn't know any of that. But she still loved him. "Like... like the fair or something," she added. She'd always liked fairs. The rides, mainly. Bumper cars, the Zipper, Ring of Fire. They were all awesome. She was up for anything.

Devon nodded. "Okay." He said. The man himself had been doing some thinking. Maybe while there he could talk to her about what he had been thinking about.
((Bllleeeeh.))

Kairi smiled and stood up. "All right then!" She said cheerfully, lightly taking his hand and leading him out.
"Are we walking or driving?" She asked him as they exited the house and then went through the huge gates that Kairi still found fairly intimidating when she saw them.

"I guess we can drive." Devon suggested with a slight shrug.
((bleh.))

Kairi nodded and walked over to Devon's car. She got into the passenger seat.
((Skip to the fair, then while they're riding a ride or something (I'd find it funny if it was a roller coaster or some other crazy ride) Devon starts talking to her about it? XD))

((Sure. XD))
Devon quickly made his way the fair, though he didn't drive as fast as he normally did. "What ride do you want to go on first?" He asked her.

Kairi shrugged. "I like most of them. Maybe the ziper. Of course, it's pretty tiny... you may be too tall to ride," she teased. "The... uh, 'Ali Babba' ride's pretty cool," she added.
((You've been on those rides before, right? XDD))

((I've never even heard of them D=))
Devon grinned slightly. "Alright. You lead the way." He told her.

((That's so sad. The Ali Baba's sort of like a couch shaped thing. It's supposed to look like a flying carpet, though. You basically sit on it, and the magic carpet is like a pendulum, except sometimes it'll go all the way around... if that makes sense.))
Kairi smirked and led him in the direction of some random ride. She'd decided on the Ali Babba. Suprisingly, the line wasn't too long, so when the ride ended, they were one of the first ones on.
"Have you ever rode this before?" She asked, expecting the answer to be yes.

((XDD Sounds fuuun.))
"I've never been on any sort of ride." Devon admitted, climbing onto the ride with her.

"Wooow," Kairi said, smirking at him. She sat in the front, because she wanted to stare at the back of somebody's head. She pulled down the thing that was supposed to hold you in the ride and grinned.
"You'll like it. It kind of makes it feel like your stomach's getting left behind every time the ride goes down. It's pretty crazy. And fun," she told him.

Devon nodded once and grinned, although he honestly had no idea what that felt like. "I'll take your word for it." He told her.

Kairi nodded, and the ride started with a loud buzzing sound, followed by the ride swinging from side to side, going farther to each side every time. She grinned as the stomach churning started and screamed with everyone else every time the ride went downward. She threw her arms up in the air, closing her eyes, enjoying the entire thing.
((When's he gonna tell her? XD))

((Now, I guess. XDD))
"Hey, Kairi, I have to tell you something." Devon shouted over the loud screaming.

Kairi shut up. There was a sort of... more serious tone to his voice. So she listened intently so he wouldn't have to yell. "Yeah?" She asked him, leaning over slightly. As the ride went in a total circle, Kairi felt like she'd left her stomach behind. How exhilerating!

"Kairi, you're really nice to have around and I really like you... but I don't think that we work well together." Devon tried to explain. "I think I only fell in love with you because you reminded me of Akito."

Kairi nodded after he finished speaking, letting it sink in. It kind of hurt--I mean, what girl wouldn't be upset to find out that the only reason their boyfriend liked them because they reminded them of somebody else.
But surprisingly, her heart wasn't breaking at the news. Maybe in truth, she'd always considered him as more of a close friend... Okay, fine, a friend that she kissed, but a friend.
"Nice way to break up," she said. "On an awesome ride. Now I'll never come onto this ride again," she said dramatically, pretending to be upset. Then she smiled a little at him. "Kidding," she added. "I guess... I'm okay with this. So long as we can still be friends..."

Devon felt guilty. "Yeah. We can still be friends." He promised her.

"That's great," Kairi said, giving him the lightest peck on the cheek. Like a kiss a girl would give a guy friend. "Akito'll be happy. She really loves you a lot," she told him.

Devon almost grimaced. "Yeah... Akito... I need to talk to her, too." He mumbled.
